Tracy's solo is really good here
not my favorite version.
It's amazing how Dio's voice sounded so dark and evil in all bootlegs of this tour, and the song on Stange Hignways album. Finally an official live release of my favorite Dio Album... I specially would like to hear the live renditions of the songs Hollywood Black, Pain, Strange highways... Long Live Rock n Roll!!
Right at the minte mark Tracy throws in harmonics as he often does and Ronnies reaction seems like genuine approval. Seems like they got along well.
yeah he seems very interactive with Tracy. Ronny wasnt always the easiest to get along with from what i hear
I miss Ronnie, Lemmy, Eddie, we can keep them alive with the great music they bestowed on us.
Incredible powerful vocals!!
One of the things I love most about Dio is that he hits those blues/r&b runs, 1:26 and 1:37 and then again on 2:45 he was the best at that. Literally puts soul into his singing 🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Yeah, it makes his style so special! And shows his musicality because you need a very good pitch to make it clean.
Three Black Sabbath's were created. Dio and Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Very cool. 🎸
This is incredible! Over 30 years old In 2024. Wow! And the song itself is 45 years old! Geez....I'm old too!!🤣
Different is not better when the “ different “ isnt BETTER.
I've had the DVD for several months and it's essential for die hard Dio fans. Love the Strange Highways era, and I had no idea this concert had even been filmed until a little before it was released! Hope to see more rare stuff in the future.
I became a huge dio fan a little to late . I can't get enough watching his videos at this time
I understand . I wasn't much of a black sabbath kid growing up. They were good . It wasn't until seeing Ronnie James Dio majestic live performances
That I started to really hear how awesome he was. I've been listening eversincce
I was fortunate enough to see him perform with Sabbath twice in '07. I'll never forget it.
Never too late! but I saw him live 4 times and I'm glad i did! See ya on the other side !RIP
Killer band!! And that guitar tone.... Damn!!
I saw a lot of "Mob rules guitar solos" and I can say that this is the best one!!!
A true masterpiece.
The DIO Rules...!!!
Ronnie James Dio!!! The great voice that never died ....!! Generations
and generations had grown up and still are growing up with His Great voice.
R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio \ m /. Greetings from Greece.
Aces !! This song rocks ! Ronnie James Dio was a master of the vocal universe.
As good as it is, being a lifelong Dio fan, I can hear that his voice is tired being at the end of a long tour. He sounds so much better at the beginning or the middle of a tour. But man is the band ever tight and polished!
69 Kevrolet Fastback He had a cold as well. He was tired. But you’re right unless you knew him or know his voice very well, you couldn’t tell. Even sick he was still way ahead of most other frontmen.
The stuff in Strange highways is very. ..pushy as vocal distortion goes too .
He s nasty on that one
That's the technical brilliance of Ronnie James Dio. He was so good he could sing at 75% and still sound like he was going full blast. He knew EXACTLY where to place his voice and when to get his breath. Incredible technician.
Tracy g was awesome in dio.....people can say all they want about him but he was probably the most unique guitarist dio ever had in his band
yes and ruined every fu***** solo he played
I agree...Great guitarist!!!
HELL YES! Man does he get a bad RAP, but dang the dude ROCKS! I love the SCREAMING HARMONICS!!!! YEAH! RIP RJD!
His style stands out a lot so you’ll either love it for its uniqueness or hate it for its distraction to the OG riffs and solos.
Rowan Robertson was NO joke either dude....
Love hearing Tracy's renditions of Sabbath Rainbow and Dio songs before he joined. Probably the live Dio albums im most into are the ones with him on them.
Fantastic solo. It's not easy to play a different solo than the original one, and make it sound good
Ronnie on top of his game!!!! AWESOME! What a kick in the nuts!!!!!
Saw this tour in OKC with Atomic Opera opening. One of the best shows I have ever seen. RIP, RJD!
DIO \m/ Always!! \m/ and Tracy G Rocks!!!
Dan right!
Tracy g is an incredible guitarist.longest serving in dio who at that time wanted a dark evil doom tone which tracy has..awesome
Dio forever!!!!!
DIO, INMORTAL VOZ DEL HEAVY METAL... LONG LIVE DIO
For ever Dio \m/. Totalmente de acuerdo. Murio con las botas bien puestas y en cima del escenario.
Excellent
Awesome news! Really looking forward to this. Strange Highways is my favorite Dio album. Love the guitar sound. Tracy G did some really great stuff on the guitar!
DIO, grande entre grandes.
Siempre sus presentaciones inmaculadas, perfectas.
R.I.P.
fantastic
Well said Corey! Tracy G is absolutely Awesome... Best gtr for DIO!
GOAT THE BEST EVER RIP DIO WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE THE F OUTTA YA..THE MASTER..DAMMMMMM WHOA HE WAS MY TEEN AND BEYOND...I MISS THE F OUTTA HIM
O Dio é fantástico! !
AWESOME! Cannot wait for this release on Cd & Blu-Ray! There is nothing wrong with Tracy G he was great in Dio
Awesome video 📹 from the 1994 Strange Highways Tour🤘
Is that Jeff Pilson of Dokken on bass? Nevermind, I looked and it is. He's a badass rythmn and bass guitarist.
Dio rules🤘
The lead is pretty good, but think Iaomi in Heaven n' Hell playing the riffs just can't be beat.
Tracy G is a excellent guitarist his studio work with Dio was great. I know every guitarist wants to add his own style to past songs live but never understood why he never even attempted to play original solos from previous guitarist?
Ronnie wanted a harder sound, so he gave Tracy a lot of freedom. I was at this concert, Ronnie had a cold and Tracy was really sick. They were still amazing.
That was awesome
Awesome!! Love the soundtrack from heavy metal
it's so nice!
Just Awsome!!!
in original key too 🤘🤘🤘
Great upload.. thanks... Saw. DIO with Maiden Motorhead tour.
...Great quality video....
Good rockin song 🤘
good!
Still waiting for sabbath mob rules live DVD.
Pilson's hair is fantastic
Great band and a fantastic sound.
The great Ronnie James can never be matched; awesome playing by the band and Mob Rules
Awesome post
Of all the guitar players with Dio Tracy is definitely different. If you hear his solos you can instantly tell its him, I wouldn't say that about either Vivian, Craig, Doug or even Toni.
Please, don’t mention Iommi at the same sentence with other excellent guitarists, yet not a match for Toni.He is the father of metal!
@@renias8965
I love Toni's music and what he has done. Technically however he is no match for the younger generation, so I will mention him and Tracy in the same sentence.
@@mryhdy6266 No you won't
@@theofiloshatzigiannis5308
How are you going to stop me from doing it??
@@mryhdy6266 I'll just say that the younger generation wouldn't be what it is without toni. Let them be as technical as they want they'll never be as great as toni. Then there's that retard tracy g who god knows how he ended up playing for dio who doesn't have the influence toni had and he's not even that technical. Ofc you can tell it's him when he plays because none of the others you mentioned are that bad. So yeah he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with anyone really not just toni
CHEERS 🍻
He sung the lyrics for the last verse during the second, but who cares. He's still a badass
Just checking if you were paying attention.
First day purchase!
Sharing is caring
DIO IS GOD ?? YEAAH \m/
Killer sound! Tracy G RULES!!!
This thing needs to be remixed! The guitars are WAAAAAAAAAAY too loud. The right mix should be something like Hammersmith 82 with DIO's vocals front and center! I can't believe how loud the guitars are.. Louder than the drums!!!!
Who let this thing out the door???
also it sounds very dry
Fab -U -lous !
good,domi
Клево!!!!
I wouldn't say Tracy G. was "the most unique guitarist dio ever had", but he was as unique as the other ones - and he doesn't have to play the solo like Tony Iommi. ;-) It always depends on what you expect. Tracy G. was great on Strange Highways. Awesome album.
I do enjoy hearing Ronnie, Vinny, Geezer, but I still prefer Toni on guitar!!!!!!
\m/
Офигительно !!
How come Tracy plays guitar and drums at the same time?
awesome!! but where's the bass? i can barely hear it :/
Interesting version with Tracy G
you excepted me dio but it was me dio
I would like to know why Rowan wasn't invited back or Craig Goldy?
Why start over again with another new guitarist?
I think it was because Dio wanted to write with Tracy
Dio admitted later that Tracy G, was not the right style player for Dio . He was correct .. his lead playing strays too much away from the originals . Just too weird of a style . Which is why he got Craig back for Magica . I saw Dio with both Tracy and Craig . No comparison Craig just fit so much better in the band
Because prior to this Ronnie wasn't in the Dio Band but instead he was with Black Sabbath 1992 Reunion album and Tour. He decided to reform Dio with different players! Ronnie wasn't that happy with the " Lock up the wolves" Line up.
2023
Bought a 2CD live album a few years ago with this guitarists playing, wasn't impressed.
Ronnie was amazing as always here!!! I could never stand Tracy G. He fuckin ruined more songs with his ridiculous solos. SO glad Dio sacked him
Is that Jeff Pilson on Bass ?
Yep. Had no idea he even toured with DIO.
Tracy G could not play lead.
He has good riffs, but some solos sounds a "litlle bit" diferents
Tracy G could not play at all!
god is singing i didnt notice that
Tracy G did good job i think!
WTF......guitar player isn't even close!
ure he is,just paying it different ! Vivian wasn't close either, but sounded great!
Terrific and immortal Voice ..... yet this is the worst guitarist Ronnie played with !
Traci is great! shut up mandy!
Tracy G could play, but he just didn't fit. I'm not a personal fan of his note choice or lead style for this song. Doesn't make him a "bad" player, but I'm definitely not digging it.
Is that that Bieber guy?
Dio great as always. Tracy G horrible.... As always, shame of guitar solo and riff too
JuanMa Villazan Rowan was way better.
@@georgekolotouros230 agree with you
Not sure what RJD was thinking when he hired Tracy G?
He was right in doing this.
Straight and easy!
Not very successful the guitar, I think it hinders work at times gave
A GREAT GREAT SONG . . . and a very mediocre, poor ,soulless guit. solo !!!
Dio,s worst guitarists he has fked every song he played
Somebody needs to tell Tracy G that less is more.
Less of what? If it was Yngwie I could understand your point, but Tracy is quite restrained
fucked up solo ..this is no mob rules anymore !
Is that guitar made out of plastic? Sounds terrible...
Solo does not fit the vibe of this song whatsoever!! All over the fuckin place! Worst guitar player Dio had.
Horrible guitarist!!
"super boring mob rules riff" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
watch Vivian Campbell's live version.
You're right about his quality, but "boring mob rules riff"? Really? This here is one of THE classic riffs of the last 30 years!
@@0509killer I listened to Vivian Campbell's version, I think he's a great guitarist but his solo just sounded like a series of warm up exercises. No personality what so ever. I'll take this one any day..
is that Jeff Pilson on bass?
Looks like it
Yes, it's Jeff Pilson...
