- Channel Update - January 2023...
I just wanted to take the time to let you fine folks know that there’s going to be a slight change to upload frequency on the channel in 2023.
First and foremost, I want to say a humongous thank you to everyone who supported the channel in 2022. Whether you’ve been watching since the beginning or just found the channel recently, whether you’re subscribed or not; if you paid a visit to the channel last year, it really does mean more to me than you’ll probably ever know, and I want you to know that I’m eternally in your debt.
I love what I do and it’s because of you that I get to do it. That being the case, I’d love to keep doing it for as long as you’ll have me, but in order to do my best to guarantee that kind of longevity, I’ve realised lately that I’ll have to make a bit of a change to the current upload frequency.
I’m sure most of you know that I currently upload two new episodes every week. I’ve sustained this for the best part of eight years now and it means a great deal to me to be a regular part of your week. It is still my intention, now more than ever, to make regular episodic content for you to enjoy and I don’t intend on changing.
One thing I have decided to change however, is the frequency with which new episodes are uploaded. From 2023 onwards, there will be at least one new video per week (posting on Sunday night at 7pm UK time). Although this means that the midweek episode will no longer be a regular occurrence, it is still my intention to post new episodes as often as possible.
I decided to make the change in order to allow me to dedicate as much time as possible to making entertaining stuff, and to try to improve the quality of what I do over time, rather than simply shooting videos because I feel the need to adhere to the traditional twice weekly schedule.
I understand that initially this may be disappointing, but I want to reassure you all that I took the decision for the right reasons. It’s important for me to try to continue to improve what I do and to keep creating content to the best of my abilities. There were a number of occasions last year whereby I filmed videos that lacked the quality I expect from myself and it’s important for me to avoid this moving forward.
I want to reassure you that I’ll still be producing content as frequently as I can, with the freedom that the reduction in regularity affords and most importantly that 52 new episodes per year (bare minimum) is still a lot to get your teeth stuck into, if you’ll excuse the pun.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for watching and for understanding, and I hope you’ll join me for all the adventures I’ve got planned for this year and beyond. Lots of love, your old mate BMF :)
Evening all! I hope you’re all having a great week. Sincerest apologies, I’m sure you were all looking forward to some of the usually japery, but I thought it necessary to update you on the channel upload schedule for 2023.
First of all, don’t panic. I’ve probably titled the video something dramatic, but I’m not going anywhere. I just wanted to make sure as many people caught the video as possible in order that the majority of you fine subscribers know why the upload frequency has changed and when to expect new episodes from now on.
There’s some further detail in the description box and a recent community post, but suffice to say I want to spend more time focused on creating the best content I possibly can, rather than spreading that creative juice over two episodes a week on account of tradition. Note to self; never say ‘spreading creative juice’ again.
There’ll still be one new video a week (minimum) on Sundays at 7pm UK time, so plenty of stuff to feast your eyes upon, but the regular midweek episode I’m afraid will cease to be. That said, I’ll still be uploading as many episodes as I can, so there’ll be a few Thursday night videos throughout the year I’m certain; it just won’t be every week.
I hope you understand that it’s a decision I took for the progression and longevity of the channel. As Mark Twain once said: You’re never wrong to do the right thing.

With all of the content creators that I watch, I find that a majority of the people who are putting out the best quality content are limiting themselves to no more frequent than once per week. I fully appreciate how much production/post production time is involved. This sounds like an appropriate move on your part. Keep up the great content!
Yes! Love it that you're aware of the importance of having a life to yourself, rather than recording constantly for the sake of what us fans are used too. Life is too short to be stressing over having one or two uploads every week. You're a legend, we love you. :)

Anyone not new to youtube will understand the time it takes to edit a video and make it look good. We appreciate the quality you put into your videos and if that means only 1 video per week, then so be it. Rather have you make a good video each week than have you burn out trying to throw up a bunch of crap videos.
I used to make and upload videos 15+ years ago. There was no money incentive, so I guess I unfamiliar with that side of things. But lets not pretend making videos is difficult.
I had always wondered how Beard kept these levels up. Upsetting we won’t see him grace our screens twice a week but we’ll always be watching!

@@blazzzup420 He probably makes a nice bit of money and deserves to enjoy it, but I don’t think that’s the main reason. I may be wrong, but as he mentions, it’s quality over quantity and this schedule just may not be sustainable.

1 video each week is enough. You have family and other things going on too. Only thing I request or maybe even ask, is that you make that 1 video a little longer maybe. You're friggin hilarious. The conversations you have with the workers at the restaurants and other places, your interactions with your awesome woman, how you joke and give your sister a hard time, it's all amazing content. I agree I love his videos and noticed better production and editing. I think one video a week is more than enough and i would love to see more videos in the 15-20 min range. I wouldn't mind subbing to a pander-on/patreon with behind the scenes content like when he calls up beforehand and or bloopers. Lastly I love his music too!

I've been subscribed to your channel since I knew what UA-cam was man. Two eps a week, especially considering the editing work you put in, the drone footage, traveling all over the place, and still staying in shape, is remarkable. Regardless of how often you post, I'll be here ready to enjoy. Also, my gran recently had a serious stroke, so when you released your Cheesecake parody video I'll be honest it really hit home man. You’ve helped me tremendously. 2022 was incredibly hard for me and finding you towards the end of the year was a blessing. Love this channel and the quality you put into your videos. While is may be slightly disappointing to only get to watch one day a week, I appreciate the fact you want to be able to put more time and effort into what you do. Looking forward to any video you post in 2023. I don't know how many eating challenges are in the area, but I know Pensacola, FL would love to see you in this area sometime. I watched your Florida series and would love to see something from our little Panhandle if you're ever back this way!

But it's not one less, it is potentially 52 less, he wants to work half the time for the same reward, he'll find some kickback and will NOT get as many views per annum.
@@alphabetsoup7918 That depends because if he makes better production he could potentially get a better view count and he could se some of the extra time to do something like a patreon for behind the scenes content and his music. TBH I don't think he his focus is on views, he does what he likes and his would allow him to also pursue other ventures and or make better content. I mean look at Mr. beast he uploaded like crazy in the beginning and those have less views than when he switched to every 2 weeks.

Aside from the editing time, I also imagine it’s a pretty gruelling schedule eating this much twice a week and having to diet and gym in between to allow you to do this - hopefully a slightly lighter schedule will allow you to enjoy a few days off too! i know this is weird but I have some real issues with food and eating, i think they call it "disordered eating" nowadays. Your videos help me eat a normal amount of food. It's my favorite thing to watch while eating. The whole competitive aspect of it makes me feel like eating is a game and pushes me to put a normal and healthy amount of food in my stomach. Most mukbang channels make me feel gross to watch and unhealthy to engage with so your challenge style of eating is really refreshing. keep it up, I love the way you engage with food

I only subscribed a couple of months ago and it’s been an absolute privilege to see your episodes every Thursday and Sunday but I think your right only doing one a week would probably be better not only for the quality of the episodes but also decreasing the risk of burn out for yourself as you do put everything into these videos 😂

thanks mate, to be fair there are thousands left I haven't done...it's just more important for me to put a load of effort into making the story of each episode as compelling as it can be, which takes far more time than most folks consider, that's all :)

At some point I imagine the hamster wheel of eat, starve, workout, edit gets to be too much to sustain at the two videos/week tempo. If this were most of us watchers eating a comparable number of calories in one day, we would have to go the next 4-5 days on a fast.
