So... we're not going to talk about that flinch... I mentioned the misfire and how Rock Island recommended fixing that issue. It takes a 1/4" drive ratchet with a 12" extension and a 1/2" socket to get the stock off and a Phillips screwdriver to tension the hammer spring. I hope you guys enjoyed the video! Stay tuned to the channel, I've got some more videos in the works. We're going to test some body armor and ap rounds, I've got a couple hunting ballistics videos coming, and I'm even working on a video for the ladies that are looking to conceal carry!
I bought a 12, 20, and 410 version of these at the local feed store at right around a C Note apiece. Son in law ended up with the 12, my 70 year old arthritic shoulders couldnt handle it. Shame, too, as its probably the most versatile and definitely ecomical of the bunch to shoot. At this point, the truck does the majority of gun totin' for me, so being handy dont mean all that much, except taking down, and getting out and being useful fast are. Take er easy.
People have no idea how useful a firearm like this is. You do not have to pay such high prices just to have home protection!! A couple years ago this shotgun was going for $77 online!!
can't beat the value in one of these but if you aren't a younger kid with a steel shoulder it's gonna hurt you can find older single shots sometimes even pre serial number meaning pre 1968 too in pawn shops
I have had mine over 2 years now . It eats everything I have ran through it . A limb saver is KEY . I named mine Mule . I love the kick from it . I can send rounds down range at 150 yards without an issue . Slugs hit hard out of this . 2 3/4 slugs kick nice . Have you tried those yet ?
I have a midland arms backpacker I use the mini shells out of also have a 9 mm and 22 wmr adapter for it these little single shot shotguns are amazing and very useful awesome video by the way
Now I know whats ahead for me...I bought a 12 ga like that last year and then got sick. No chance to shoot till this year. I hope I get out soon. Thanks for the video.
I just bought a 410ga for $88 delivered off of Gunbroker. It look’s actually like yours except it has black furniture. No rear sight or rib. Simple brass bead for the front sight.
Son,5 lb 12....yes they Kick.Grew up with an Ithaca Lever Action Single Shot Buck buster 12 Gauge around 6 lbs got it when I was 12. Years later got to shoot an 06 thought it was a pussy cat compared to the Ithaca and it was.
It certainly increases the felt recoil, but a 12 gauge only produces around 35lbs of felt recoil on average. It will rock you for sure, but it's not unmanageable. I prefer shooting the 1¾" shorty shells out of this shotgun. Still plenty powerful, but a little more comfortable to shoot.
Aguila mini shells ENGINEERED GREATNESS. Our 1 3/4″ Minishell nearly doubles the capacity of shotguns. The 25-gram slug travels at 1,300 ft/sec and delivers less recoil for faster target acquisition.
I wonder, why does the rear sights being made of plastic, disqualify them from being used. Makes no sense. Plastic sights ae better than no sights, especially when shooting slugs.
It's a very crude and rudimentary notch that's poorly milled. It's very hard to pick up the picture and they actually sit very low in the receiver so you have to really sink down into the gun to even use them.
Idaho rifleman, I was given a full set of 20 gauge chokes that are in the original Savage Marked Box. I e-mailed Savage and I did not get a response to which shotgun they would fit but, I saw a video where the man unscrewed the choke out of a Stevens pump shotgun and I photographed it. I sure looks like the Stevens model. Don’t know why they cannot label them unless it a paten thing.
Any updates on this gun? I bought one a couple years back and shot it two maybe three rounds, kicks like a mule like you said. Got a limb saver and some reduced recoil rounds but a little apprehensive to shoot it again lol.
I contacted RIA/RII and they said the hammer spring isn't always tensioned correctly when they are manufactured. Took the stock off and tightened it up and so far it's working great! I used it again in this video with a slug... I honestly think the 4 Buck kicked worse than the slug!! ua-cam.com/video/LVoURuAmEaQ/v-deo.html
those single barrels with three inch are brutal as someone who grew up here in Idaho too I can honestly say that the selling point of those guns they are 100 bucks at Walmart and they are great if you want to leave a gun in your camper vehicle or bag something like that and with those mini shells gun would almost be pleasant to shoot and work for most things in the woods here

Well, if it doesn't go bang every time it might not be a great choice.
I bought the same model about a year ago. $129 at my local store. I'm in my 70's and only run shorties in it.
Thank you!
I’ve scoured the web looking for the answer on this lite primer strike issue. 🙌🏻🙏🏻

I haven't tried those yet!
@@theidahorifleman try a 3 inch magnum slug good god those hurt out of this

This one definitely kicks harder than many other 12ga shotguns just because it's so much lighter. 4 Buck and Slugs add an extra pop to it.
Thanks for the video, there was a lot of recoil on that #4 buck 👍👍
Hi Lance! I think I've seen you appear in Who Tee Who premieres. Have I?
@@rusticredd6294 yep, I’ve been there a lot . Sometimes I forget about the time and watch the video later.
@@YellowHammer26 Likewise. I thought your name was familiar.
I was definitely anticipating that recoil from shooting it before. Way more than I expected though!

Is that the TK-104?
Thnx for your insight
I'll have another video coming out soon with this shotgun!
If you can find one Winchester 1200 defender can run mini shells no problem and they look great
I have one of these in 20 gauge, I got a few light primer strikes too.
Picked one up for $99 today.

Wouldn't a shotgun that was too light in weight have too much felt recoil?

@@theidahorifleman-- I wonder if they make it in a 20-gauge version.
@@gregb6469 I know they make a 410. I'm not sure about .20ga.
The shorty slugs work well out of it too. Full power slugs will rattle your teeth.
I haven't seen those yet, I'll have to check them out!!

Is this a slug barrel or smooth ? TIA
It is a smooth barrel
👏👏👏♥️🥰mükemmel olmuş vidyo
didn't happen to ask what style choke tube it takes by chance?
I didn't, but in my reading, they mention Mobile screw in chokes

I think that was just a shell problem not a gun problem
I hear the Federal shells have better primers.

Once shot, the shell does not pop out by itself huh
No it doesn't unfortunately. That is definitely a feature that would be very nice!
I don't think mine came with a choke option 🤔
Oh that's a bummer! Is your barrel threaded inside?
Damn, I paid $169 retail for mine just the other day.
they are online for 77 right now.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰♥️👏👏😍😘🤩

I gott a recoil pad. I also got an ATI instead of RIA because of the light strike issue. I have heard about this issue from more than a few on UA-cam.
