Ah single shot shotguns. They're not fast. Or light. Or tactical. Or anything else most people are looking for when it comes to a gun. But there's just something fun and cool about them.
Semi auto’s are extremely fun, but there’s something about guns that require you to manually move the mechanism that just elicits a smile out of people. I’ve heard it compared to driving a “manual vs automatic” car, and I think that sums it up for me. Both are awesome, both have their place, but they’re just different kinds of fun.
@@sonofaboomer i'd say that's a good analogy.
Tok bad it doesn't eject
@@vetogutiergutier8657 yeah, but at least it has that extractor mechanism so you can get it out. Still, it’d be nice if it auto ejected.
good for hunting and sometime for home defense if that's what you got
I have the .410 version of this. Today took my 15YO daughter to the range and we had a grand time.
Single shotguns is the one of best guns of the history theyre light durable accurate and reliable
Totally agree! They’re great guns!
My grandfather shot squirrels with one.
I have the RIA 12 gauge. Of course recoil is there, but it's not unmanageable. Mine did come with 3 chokes and the choke key. I've put hundreds of rounds through mine and it's holding up great. No issues. Paired up with a short lane arms stack pack it makes a great truck gun.
That is the best backpack gun out there by far. The 20 gauge is a great medium load for almost anyone, and has enough power to take down most bad things.❤👍👍👍
I agree! I ended up converting it to a survival shotgun. You can check it out on my channel!
Thanks for the vid very good work and nice gun.I have the 12gauge version I bought last month on sale for around $99.00.i really like it.i have the 12-20g adapter and the 12-22lr. Adapter set up for mine.i think I'm gonna get the 20gauge too.thank you sir.
Awesome! I plan on looking into some more barrel adapters. At the moment I only have a 9mm adapter. I’ve loved this cheap little gun since I’ve gotten it!
I just got one. I like it a lot, it’s really fun. It’s not fast or anything fancy, but I think it’s awesome.
Also, great video!
@@TNG173 thank you! I love the gun too!
Had the 20 inch 12 ga version and there is a simple solution to the recoil problem. Either fill the hole in the rear stock with lead shot or measure the length of the hole and cut a piece of 3/4 copper water line and pour it full of lead. Insert the lead weighted pipe into the rear stock and you will be surprised how much it reduces the recoil .
I have the 20 gauge version as well, I use it for cottontail and doves. I've ran birdshot through it without having ear protection and it didn't hurt the ears. However when your hunting you don't always have time to put ear protection on when you have a good shot. I've tested slugs in it and it was pretty brutal. Great shotgun.
Great insights on the hunting side of things! Thanks!
Oh, ok.. tanksbforbthe clarification..so you are saying I can shoot BIRDSHOTS, and BUCKSHOTS with this shotgun? If so, can I use the same choke it comes with or will I have to exchange out chone?... just will like to know.
@@lamardaniels6625The 20 gauge I have doesn't use chokes
for even more fun, in my ria 20 ga, i purchased a insert so can now shoot 9mm, 38 and 357. so much fun.
I have one for 9mm! I enjoy using it!
Getting the 410 version as a present for my mom who has been wanting to get a shotgun for ages but has yet to do so
That’s awesome! .410 is a great caliber! Often underestimated!
How did she like it? I love mine.
@@andreao5804 she liked it for the most part
Have the 12 ga i love it i just put it a coupel inch away from my sholder shoot and my arms work as a spring wors perfect every time esp with sluggs or buck
Glad it’s working out for you! It is a fun gun to use!
I’ve got something nearly identical.
Different importer and manufacturers name. Longer barrel and wood furniture. 12g. But same gun.
I found the name once and can’t remember it but one plant in Turkey pumps these out under dozens of names. Different gauges, barrel lengths and furniture materials depending on the brand. Importers all over the world. Mine is imported by Revolution Armory in Alberta.
I can’t believe what I paid for it. It looks great. Lightweight. Accurate. I really enjoy using it. It has become my most used firearm.
These rust easily if not taken care of. Mine has duds from a certain brand of cheap target load. So I think the spring isn’t the strongest.
Good info! Thanks! If you find the name of the plant again comment it below!
Great video and thank you for not cussing!!
Thank you!
I have the 12 gauge shotgun, and yes it kicks like a mule . But fun to shoot.
Glad you’re enjoying it! It’s been a solid performer for me thus far!
You're absolutely right about that gun in 12 gauge. I have one of them and it is ridiculous to shoot with slugs or any kind of buckshot. I once shot some 3 inch 00 buck out of it and that was enough and I'm a big guy with plenty of cushion lol. Nice review man!
You’re brave to put a 3 inch shell in there haha. It’s good to know that I’m not just a wimp. Still, it’s a pretty fun gun!
@@sonofaboomer lol no sir, it's not just you. But yes it is a very fun and handy little gun.
@@sonofaboomerwell sir I'm a gluten for punishment 😂. I have the 12 gauge version. I shoot slugs out of mine regularly. Yes its name is Mule . Cause it kicks like one . I'm a smaller guy yet I love it . A limb saver is key. Lol .
Good job, thanks
Thank you!
Dude, if you ever get a chance to review one of Derya's pump action or semi auto shtoguns, please do. I would be interested in knowing if they're any good. Thanks!
I’d love to! I’ll keep an eye out for some. It seems like Rock Island imports a couple of their guns, but if you have a specific couple you’re looking at I’ll see what I can do. Might be a bit before I get my hands on one but I’m always open to suggestions for reviews!
Have had the 12g for about a year and have probably ran 5-10 boxes of all sorts of shot and have not had a single misfire or a light primer strike yet but it kicks like a mule
Good to know! No misfires in mine as well! Sounds like we got some fun shotguns!
I have one.. good gun for a little bit
Awesome! I’ve enjoyed mine so far. I’m currently working on a video converting this shotgun into a survival shotgun. It’s worked out surprisingly well. Should release it next week!
That design has been around for over 60 years. My first 12 gauge shotgun, in 1962, was made in Italy by Gamba and was £20 at the time and was similar to the one in the video.... but HAMMERLESS and 'prettier'. It kicked like hell with 35 gram loads.
I wish we could go back to times when guns only cost $20 (or £20 for you). The little shotgun is definitely a fun firearm. I assumed that the design was older, but I had no idea how long it had been around. I’ll have to look into the gamba! Thanks!
I just bought one in 20 ga a couple weeks ago haven’t shot it yet couldn’t pass it up for the price $109 out the door my thoughts about the recoil is if it is a little stout when I shot it I’m goin buy some heavy lead sinkers put them in a ziplock bag rap a little duck tape around them and take the butt plate off and stick them in the butt of the gun replace butt plate and there you have it a hillbilly counterweight lol 😂🤗👍
Hahaha, I love it! I’m going to be releasing a follow up video on a survival build I did with this gun in a few days. After putting some add on items I can say the recoil went down a bit but I’m interested to hear how the lead sinkers work out! Keep me posted!
Just picked up one brand new for $57. That’s before tax and shipping. $88. It’s in 410. Had the same model in 12ga that I traded off. Never shot it. Thought I was going to use it to hunt turkeys. The 410 is for pest control.
Nice! That’s an awesome price!
How do i take of the forend?
Unscrew the sling stud and it should slide off
Will a single shot shotgun fire any length shell?
Not necessarily, you should check what size chamber it has. For instance, the 12 gauge version of this single shot has a 3 inch chamber meaning it can fire the mini shells, 2 3/4 in, and 3 inch shells, but not 3 1/2 in magnum shells.
Does it have eject the spent casing automatically?
When you open the gun the extractor will pull the shell slightly out of the barrel, making it easy to remove the spent shell, but it does not eject it automatically. You will have to take it out by hand each time.
هلو كم سعر هاذه البندقيه🤔
Rifled barrel or smooth bore ? TIA
Smooth bore
Can I shoot bird shot, and Buck shots with the same choke the shotgun comes with?...Thus is my only concern,
The 20 gauge and .410 versions just have a cylinder bore. You’re all good to shoot whatever you want out of them, you’ll just not be able to add different chokes to tighten up your pattern. The 12 gauge version takes different chokes. Plain lead shot (buck or bird) is okay out of most chokes, but as the choke gets smaller, avoid putting buckshot through the gun (like a turkey choke). However, if you just take the chokes out, you can shoot bird, buck, or slugs.
@SONOFABOOMER ....tracking, but I thought taking out the chokes to shoots all birdshots, buck shots or slugs will damage the barrel without any choke being attached to it?
@@lamardaniels6625 Apologies. Yes, you don’t really want to shoot it with no choke attached. A cylinder bore choke or improved cylinder bore choke would be ideal for shooting whatever you want out of the gun, but your patterns will be wider for buckshot and birdshot. Hope that helps and makes sense.
Have one in 20ga nice gun trigger pull could be better.😊
Agreed!
No ejector? For shame. Styling is pretty good I'd say, but I think H&R had the single shot design down pat.
I’ve heard real good things about their shotguns. I might pick one up in 12 gauge some day!
@@sonofaboomer Would have to be used market. H&R was shut down when Remington went bankrupt.
I have a couple of Stevens 301s (12- and 20-gauge) that eject spent rounds.
I’m really liking this. Stupid question: how easy is removing the butt plates? It has two? Could both be removed and then the cushioned part reattached? Thank you for any information.
Not a stupid question. There’s two screws so removing it isn’t difficult. And the gun comes with two other sets of screws that differ in length depending on the amount of spacers you want. So you can absolutely remove both spacers and then reattach the cushioned butt plate with the shortest set of screws. :)
