Thanks Ian! It seriously is an amazing synth! Try one before you buy to make sure its right for you. :D I hope I can show my own musical view on what it can do :D
I did get to play one, which is what started my obsession. However it was just on headphones at the Synth shop. I’m curious, how does it sound on a proper set of speakers. I feel like I can never really tell how things sound until I have it in the studio.
Looks like im late to the party;) but thanks for this video. I just purchased the iridium keyboard version, had it a couple if days now, i love it, so much possibilities under the hood for sound design. Im so glad ive stumbled across this video, the resonator engine has been baffling me, ive just been messing with that part just trying to find out what the hell to do with it:) and how it works. This has helped a lot. Looking forward to trying it out more now as i was becoming a bit disheartened with the resonator. Cheers and subbed.👍
I would love to see a synthesizer dedicated to physical modelling plus samples with a poly aftertouch keybed. It would probably sound so realistic in emulating acoustic instruments
The resonator ? I would suggest the best way you be to use it for the attack phase of a string sound then use PWM waves to fill the sustain section of the string sound!
I think early on in this video I get a classic guitar tone from the Resonator. I'm sure it can come close but these days with such complex sampling on desktops I think if i was using those types of sounds and couldn't find the instrument to play myself I would use a sample set :D
Its very easy to make your own sounds with a little work thanks to the massive control surface. If I could delete all the presets on all of my synths nothing would make me happier! :D
I remember when I first started learning about synthesis, that additive type stuff seemed so boring to me. It's just boring sine waves, what's the big deal?? Now I dream all day of playing a synth that lets me manipulate a frequency spectrum like that. I gotta get my hands on one of these. 🥵
I don't feel I have duplications of sounds with each of the synths. Most of them I have explored very deeply (this is my 4th week now only exploring the Quantum). Once I feel I understand a synth then when i'm writing\composing I will choose the synth that fits. I never see an instrument as a barrier to making music and I can impose limitations where required :D
Ok,but i see here many people buying expensive synths and they can barely play with it.And post it on YT.It is not on you. That is internet. The best numbers here disappire under a thousant uninteresting numbers.
@@DaveS-Ace Thanks my friend, and thanks for the other comment I would suggest checking out Mark Pigott's Blofeld explorations. While not done on the Quantum you can do the same things. He has some awesome ideas ua-cam.com/play/PLKw0bc1wG1aeir5ghLcxIj8KJIeBcXulJ.html
Very interesting. Like the patch you wind up with, some modulation and movement going on, but still very grounded and musical.
So far the only boundaries I have found on the Quantum are my own! it's a whole new world of sound! :D
@@100ThingsIDo Many hour sof fun ahead then!
I’ve watched almost every Quantum video on the internet - yours are by far the most enticing! Might need to finally put my order in.

With both the Analog and Digital filters + The parametric EQ you can get it to sound however you like. Its really very versatile, smooth to vicious :D

Its mostly what the Neuron was supposed to be ... such a shame it never really had its moment in the sun :D
An amzing machine, thanks for sharing and all the best in 2019
Thanks Tip Top! Hope you have a great New Year! :D
Looooooove that doppler effect at the end of the notes
Yep! One of my move fave effects. The Man Mr Namlook managed to make a whole track out of a similar effect :D
Waldorf knows how to make epic synths, thanks for demoing yer chops on'er
They do indeed. Very unique sounding awesome instruments :D
thank you for this demo
Thanks for checking it out Anton! :D
Lots of Marble Madness arcade machine sounds. Nostalgic !
NICE :D
A modern synth, here it is, at last!
Indeed! The age of Vintage lust might be finally over :D
very interesting. thanks!
Glad you enjoyed :D
very cool :)
Thanks RetroSound :D
ive yet to hear anyone use this for string type sounds. is that possible

100 Things I Do i mean to say string as in guitar/clav/koto type. not orchestral. just to clarify. id like to hear that

junglsmor Then, totally.
see this makes me wanna buy the synthesizer, but all the demos where they showed the presets seemed really lame.

Yeh, crazy what you can do with samshing a few sine waves togeather :D
It's a nice $2000 synth.
Its a great synth, the new FM stuff coming later this year is going to be very interesting :D
Pissed you're not on board?
Can you still make music with so many choices on a synth? That is i think the reason you buy instruments? And not experiment into eternity.

Find the good people and stick with them! Each brings their own ideas to electronic music making and what they feel its all about! :D
@@100ThingsIDo just found ur channel, subbed, loooving it, it’s helping with my iridium desktop;) who else do u recommend to follow for tutorials ect.

Those pluck and strum type sounds sound so fake Roland did a better job with their supernatural technology
Hi Sunsan, do some research into Karplus Strong, it's basically going on here :D If you don't like the Quantum stop watching the vidoes :P
