Great video and thank you for posting. I had an Etsy shop for almost 10 years. Started out designing and making jewelry and did really well, but it was hard work. As I got older, I needed to step away from making jewelry for health reasons, and started acrylic resin painting and selling the originals, which sold really well. But it triggered my chronic nerve pain and regrettably had to discontinue making them. I started watercolor painting, selling the prints, both digital and POD. It was still a lot of work, and frustrating because unless you're doing ads or lots of Social Media, your shop is literally a needle in the big Etsy haystack. Not to be discouraging, but it is a saturated market. It's critical to find a niche that fills a need for certain demographics of shoppers, and market research is a crucial element in this process. I may pick this up again using my old art prints, mixed in with some AI art, if it's a viable option. It's important the print is a high enough resolution so it's not grainy when the buyer prints out a large print, 300dpi is not enough IMO. I would shoot for 500dpi. Thank you for sharing. I've been selling print on demand for a while now and started dabbling with some AI-generated art. For me, AI arts and all-over print products are the best combo for me.
I've been following your channel for a long time and have yet to take action. I'm going to change that this year during the first quarter. Thank you for the information.
I've been doing digital downloads since July. High quality, popular niche...and not from AI...I'm an actual artist. I've only sold 40 to date. There are LOTS of Etsy shops selling this type of product...LOTS...some only months out. I'd like to know the secret to getting FOUND, as I have gotten minimal visits and views over the 6 months since I opened. My conversion rate was around 3-5%, which by all accounts is decent. So...what gives?
its pretty difficult to get exposure. Best thing you could do is opening a pinterest with a link to your shop, maybe post your prints from instagram or X with a watermark, and build a community. invest less in the art and more on the customer
All the negative comments are stupid. My friend has in 9 months made 11000 sales selling png files using AI. I started 3 months ago and have made 300 sales. With digital downloads it’s volume that beats the algorithm to be on the first page. I have over 600 items and now I don’t pay for ads. I’m found easy in search. Still have to make more since the most successful person has 5000 listings and makes 45k a month. I looked at her store. It’s not passive but I get paid while asleep. I make the file once and it pays me forever
Midjourney is great, but Stylar? It's like a design wizard's dream come true - especially for interior, 3D, and character work. Seriously, nothing else compares!
yes and no, you can watermark the thumbnails. of course someone can always use your image as inspo for another ai generated one. Tbh its the same struggle anyone with any product goes through!
There's been some legal precedent for copyrighting AI art. Also an Etsy shop reposting another shop's artwork is an easy DMCA takedown through Etsy's reporting portal.
I'm just looking for a side hustle that pays £1000/ £2000 a month to live comfortably without being able to work and the government being too greedy for the disability payment system to work properly. Thank you, I'll give this a try
Fantastic and very detailed info. Thank you! I’m inspired after watching although, I suffer from analysis paralysis… I really want to at least try. Thanks for being so thorough! 🙌🏽
I just found and watched your 2023 video last week and started a shop. I’m glad to hear the updates. I was very happy when only a couple of hours of putting up 10 listings, I got something like 36 views. I knew it was a matter of pricing and time. I’ve been also relying on a couple of other AIs but the new mid journey looks real dope!
Hey JoJoRock, I'm trying to do the same here. What are your results so far? I'm interested in earn a few extra bucks on the side, but don't want to waste my time if this doesn't sell.
And remember, with online stores where you don't actually hold stock on hand you literally have an avenue for income. it might be a tiny amount or you might get lucky and get huge sales. Either way, it's more money in the bank. Multiple sources of income whether small or large is the only way to "get rich".
Basically Guys i'll share my experience even tho i dont have to i got me a Monetized youtube channel with over 20k from viral npc marketplace (it is now 30K) and im now earning like an old youtuber. This what majority of the people do now xd
Took action last year, but been very passive and the niche I chose turned out to require too much work for each listing on top of that Etsy not being very encouraging with failing to verify my back details. So even when I do sell, can't get money out of it. Tough, but I will stand back up and try again.
Because of your channel I finally open my Etsy store. Right now I'm selling physical products but I started to learn how to use AI and Print on Demand process.
For Ai, Ai means here it is being referred to Midjourney, so go buy a $30 per months standard plan, that's a good one and create artistic art using it and you're good to go, for making exquisite art open a dictionary and start looking for abstract english words and use it in your prompts for print on demand process, watch some youtube videoos
Took you six months to learn how to type? Real artists have been honing their actual skills for lifetimes, just for techbros and scam artists to swoop in with this AI nonsense and steal their revenue. But hey, good luck champ.
@@georgevanderriet2474 My thoughts exactly. That shit is making Fine Arts just as valuable as tap water, and those lazy "get rich quick" dudes are thinking themselves smarter than the crowd for profititing from the downfall of the Human culture. Awesome video!I appreciate the practical tips, especially leveraging AI like ChatGPT and MidJourney. The success stories you shared are super motivating. Excited to explore this side hustle - thanks for the valuable insights!
This is also so perfect if you are tired of working for other people. And as a bonus for when one "retires", one can have a little extra income so one does not starve and shiver during cold winters. Good luck to all.
As an actual acrylic artist I have been disheartened by AI but I also know it's not going anywhere. Im so grateful for this video ... and am looking to utilize AI to my advantage. Thanks again.
Are you able to take one or many of your designs and use those to influence MidJourney's or another AI to design art? it would be a good way to have your artistic style but able to produce more, but offer the one-offs at a premium?
I believe there will be a strong market for hand painted items for sure, i might even say that the price of a hand painted art piece might go up in the future. When everything is digital people get a sense of nostalgia for the the physical thing.
@@dogelife7901 my husband is in visual effects...we have a company so I know all about it. As I said in my comment...I know AI isn't going anywhere And I plan to utilize it. But I not giving up my physical art.
Alek, you said you keep a separate Etsy shop for digital and physical products. Would it be allowed by Etsy to refer to your other shop in an Etsy listing? For example, if you made a listing for a digital product on your digital shop, could you also offer this item as a physical print on your physical shop, and link to the physical shop from your digital listing? That way you might have someone who finds your digital listing, but is interested in purchasing a physical copy of it, now they would have that option.
Thanks for the great info Alek! At the end you say that you keep separate shops for physical and digital. Why? I understand using separate listings for each, but why go through the trouble of setting up an entirely new shop (presumably using the same designs) for physical?
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Anyone can make AI artwork, but not everyone can make aesthetically pleasing AI artwork that sells - I suppose that's the caveat. But anyway, I hope to be making pieces that people actually want to put on their walls and look at every day 😅. Thank you so much for these videos, Alek. I'm FINALLY inspired enough to use the thousands of MJ images I have that are just taking up server space 🙏 best of luck to everyone this year, whatever your endeavours may be.
I have a ton of artwork waiting to be listed in my shop too! It takes time though to get things set up to make your shop look good and trustworthy... I think I'm at that point now! 😊 We Shall See! 2024 Is Our Year!
What's so hard about making it a esthetically pleasing I've never used it. If you don't like the imagine can't you just change the prompt or am I oversimplifying?
Everyone thanked the guy for sharing this "amazing content", but no one showed up saying that this really works, and that's because it doesn't. He makes his money on UA-cam because anything "AI" content related nowadays will generate traffic. So you are making the money for him right now (including myself at this point), not AI. Sorry, it won't happen.

I am a disabled Veteran that loves art but I have no artistic skills whatsoever! I have also been interested in something to do as I am mostly homebound these days. This sounds like something I could learn and possibly make a little extra money. If I enjoy it then maybe I can earn more than a little. I will accept this challenge and follow your instructions step by step. I will report back to this video and let all of you know my results.
Ok. I made it thru the first parts. Others should know that It's $8 per month for Midjourney but you actually have to pay a year in advance. So, I did that. My first investment already at $96 bucks. Next...the discord stuff took me awhile to figure out but I got it done. I watched this part of your video probably 20 times just to follow it exactly as you said. I was able to create an image just as you said....so that was cool. I will stop at this point today and come back at it later. For now, I want to play around with more image generations and see what I can create. I'll keep you all posted.
Hey John! Well, Yes. I would have added more updates but didn't figure anybody would read it. Since I watched this video I have been on a roll. I have signed up to Etsy, Printify, Printful, Redbubble and recently got accepted to sell on Amazon Merch on Demand. Don't let anyone fool you on how easy this is. I have spent probably 30 hours learning to design on Canva, and working with generative AI to create some really cool designs. I hate to tell you that I have already been suspended on Etsy and Redbubble, with no explanations given. I have appealed this but basically they will get back to you or they won't. They have made it very clear that they could give a crap about me. I wondered if my AI artworks could be the problem but I don't know. I have now ventured out to TeeSprings and just signed up for Wirestock. I am not going to give up on this idea as I am really enjoying. Now I just need a platform that is willing to work with me and not just permanently suspend my account for life for a brand new designer that has no idea what I even did wrong! Thanks for asking. I'll update more again if people are finding this helpful.@@johnye2

Hi Alek I really like AI and what can produce but to sell so many per month is not only to have a great product but more important is the marketing. Would you be able to do a video of how to market the product?
I've done a "course" on this one year ago. Do you think it's still a viable model? There are thousands of prints in the same "trendy" topics now generated by AI. And what are the traffic channels for all these successful shops? I'd like to try this year to setup a print store but I'm not sure If there are more people who teaches how to do that than actually those who succeed following such tutorials..😅
this is so inspiring! I never realized that starting a side hustle could be this accessible. The way you explain leveraging AI for ideas and covering everything from start to finish is truly game-changing . Thank Alek for sharing such valuable insights! 😍👍
Dude. You could make hundreds of images and don’t sell even one image. And Etsy is charging you for every single listing. So yes, you can totally loose time and money.
Hey Alek the printify option is expensive, in their catalog I selected one poster production + shipping cost is $45 and they suggested retail for between $60 to $70, I’m not sure anybody would buy that especially when it’s 14x11 in dimensions

So I've watched your tutorial over and over as I take the steps you give for doing this...and am amazed at what can be created. I am seriously motivated to sell online as well once I have all the steps down. So far so good. My only question at this point is what aspect ratio should the images to be uploaded to Etsy be? Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share this information!

I feel like I gotta keep grinding to get enough listings out and eventually someone will bite and maybe that will push more through. it's only been 2 weeks so I'm just trying to keep pushing@@sebastianprieto3244
Propably not 😂 Tell me one person that will pay to download a picture 😂😂😂

How's it going

was it worth it
Did you make $200k
Wow! You left me speechless with this video. Way to go, Alek.
O my gosh, how many people would came to be rich after watching this video! Incredible! 😅
None, because there are no customers for this art.
0:56 No, it's not creating a new image from scratch. It's created by best guesses using huge amount of data using the text as context.
Thank you for sharing. I've been selling print on demand for a while now and started dabbling with some AI-generated art. For me, AI arts and all-over print products are the best combo for me.
how has the process been? Does it generate decent profit? Is it worth it for me to start dabbling in?
Y'all are hating this video is purely educational
Nice vid dude! You present this all very well. I'm excited to give this a go!
Old Alek is back ❤
I've been following your channel for a long time and have yet to take action. I'm going to change that this year during the first quarter. Thank you for the information.
you are the sunshine of my ai sun
I've been doing digital downloads since July. High quality, popular niche...and not from AI...I'm an actual artist. I've only sold 40 to date. There are LOTS of Etsy shops selling this type of product...LOTS...some only months out. I'd like to know the secret to getting FOUND, as I have gotten minimal visits and views over the 6 months since I opened. My conversion rate was around 3-5%, which by all accounts is decent. So...what gives?
Its over saturated. Every man and his dog can make art now with AI, I couldn't think of a worse way to try and make money
its pretty difficult to get exposure.
I make the file once and it pays me forever
wow sounds great. please what platforms do you sell the images?
So you sell the same image to multiple people?
Midjourney is great, but Stylar? It's like a design wizard's dream come true - especially for interior, 3D, and character work. Seriously, nothing else compares!
Only problem is anyone can just dupe your store and resell your Jpeg images since they're all AI generated.
i think they will make a POD version of your shop?
yes and no, you can watermark the thumbnails. of course someone can always use your image as inspo for another ai generated one. Tbh its the same struggle anyone with any product goes through!
anyone can do that with any artwork, AI or not
There's been some legal precedent for copyrighting AI art. Also an Etsy shop reposting another shop's artwork is an easy DMCA takedown through Etsy's reporting portal.
amazing video , This is the only side hustle channel that I have subscribed and hit the bell icon. Thanks very much for this amazing info.
I'm just looking for a side hustle that pays £1000/ £2000 a month to live comfortably without being able to work and the government being too greedy for the disability payment system to work properly. Thank you, I'll give this a try
Trying your method step by step! I will come back with the results! Thank you so much for such an insightful video!
How has it gone so far?
please update us!
Fantastic and very detailed info. Thank you! I’m inspired after watching although, I suffer from analysis paralysis… I really want to at least try. Thanks for being so thorough! 🙌🏽
I'm blown away to be honest. I will start working on this straight away. Thank you man, this is really valuable.
Basically Guys i'll share my experience even tho i dont have to
i got me a Monetized youtube channel with over 20k from viral npc marketplace (it is now 30K) and im now earning like an old youtuber. This what majority of the people do now xd
what is the channel about?

@@daTribbleMakerit’s a bot, I saw it post this in another video.
@@elminl203what is the goal of this bot? It has nothing to promote and good for nothing
@@adhumon55 I don’t know. I’ve just seen similar text to with another comment in a different video.
Remember this guy is making this video for clicks and revenue. Just saying
Yep pure lies for views
Would be funny if he is an AI generated youtube video.
How can one tell the difference?
I thought the excact same thing. 10k a month in under a year. Sounds too good to be true
Facts
@@Charteus.because it’s not true
Took action last year, but been very passive and the niche I chose turned out to require too much work for each listing on top of that Etsy not being very encouraging with failing to verify my back details. So even when I do sell, can't get money out of it. Tough, but I will stand back up and try again.
Thank you Sir! I'm acting on all your vids. Great wisdom and info!
This is the best video on this topic on UA-cam.
Incredible that there's such buyer demand for this kind of thing.
Incredible is the right word.....
After 6 months of learning Midjourney and previous experiences in drop shipping I feel this is perfect for me 🔥 you're info has Inspired me thank you
Took you six months to learn how to type? Real artists have been honing their actual skills for lifetimes, just for techbros and scam artists to swoop in with this AI nonsense and steal their revenue. But hey, good luck champ.
@@georgevanderriet2474that’s not what AI is, shut up
@@georgevanderriet2474 My thoughts exactly. That shit is making Fine Arts just as valuable as tap water, and those lazy "get rich quick" dudes are thinking themselves smarter than the crowd for profititing from the downfall of the Human culture.
When people stop creating images inside their own minds and rely fully on robots, the world will be a very boring place.
Thanks for sharing this, truly excellent content!

Okay wow! This was truly the most helpful mid journey video I’ve seen. Thank you!
Awesome video!I appreciate the practical tips, especially leveraging AI like ChatGPT and MidJourney. The success stories you shared are super motivating. Excited to explore this side hustle - thanks for the valuable insights!
Glad you enjoyed 😁
If it was as easy to make money as he makes it sound he would not be telling you about it.
how come? any bad exp
What makes you think that, pal?
This is also so perfect if you are tired of working for other people. And as a bonus for when one "retires", one can have a little extra income so one does not starve and shiver during cold winters.
Good luck to all.
Great video Alek. Greetings from Melbourne
Sorry, AI is going nowhere you need to adapt. Either stick to your guns and double down on real art or embrace the beast.
@@SlowriderFXDL agreed.
Lets ignore the huge drop in sales on the graph @2:08, hmmmm...
@6:39 i do /imagine but it asks me for a subscription. there isnt a free trial due to high demand.
I'm FINALLY inspired enough to use the thousands of MJ images I have that are just taking up server space 🙏
best of luck to everyone this year, whatever your endeavours may be.
It takes time to create an effective prompt. Some don't produce anything worthwhile.
appreciate for sharing this with us, excellent video
Everyone thanked the guy for sharing this "amazing content", but no one showed up saying that this really works, and that's because it doesn't. He makes his money on UA-cam because anything "AI" content related nowadays will generate traffic. So you are making the money for him right now (including myself at this point), not AI. Sorry, it won't happen.
Depende, é claro que ele ganha com isso , inclusive deve ter cursos a venda, mas vc consegue usar IA ao seu favor basta filtrar tudo que ouve e vê eu faço isso
@@mazeyandbuck any updates?
Hey John!

Hi, I'm not seeing the "Copy Link" option that is mentioned in the "Prompting Strategy" section at about 10:14. Is it not offered in the basic plan?
I’ve been following these kinds of videos for so long now and always stop at some point during the beginning of the process out of laziness or fear, most likely- I seriously need to stop complaining about my finances and circumstances because this caters to so many of my excuses. I feel like the comment section seems friendly and accountable enough by glancing over just now.
Ahhh, time to get stuff done for myself… so if anyone wants to check in and someone to reciprocate that to light a spark and get moving, feel free to let me know!!
if you give them google drive link what's to stop the customer from sharing that link with whoever else thus you not making money?
Sure, pirating digital content has been a thing for a couple decades. Most people still acquire the content legally.
@@MiikaLiukkai suppose that's correct as well

THANKS A BUNCH, AMAZING VIDEO!!!
Hi Alek I really like AI and what can produce but to sell so many per month is not only to have a great product but more important is the marketing. Would you be able to do a video of how to market the product?
Yes, getting traffic is difficult for me too, thanks for your question.
Your video is just awsome!!!thank you !!!!SO much clarity !!!
I'd imagine by the time you're seeing an AI hustle in the form of a YT vid like this, the cow has already been milked nearly dry
Help! Digital download artwork? A person buys the artwork, they print it from their OWN PRINTER and frame it themselves? Dense question I know
Yes
that is why they are so cheap on Etsy.
Hi Alek, I desperately need 3 liters of SNAKE OIL.
I heard your snake oil is the best!

this is so inspiring!
This video is not true, that's why! Go try it and let us know.
You just gained a new follower!
Correct me if im wrong, but hasn't Etsy discouraged or even closed shops that are using AI generated work?
Hey Alek the printify option is expensive, in their catalog I selected one poster production + shipping cost is $45 and they suggested retail for between $60 to $70, I’m not sure anybody would buy that especially when it’s 14x11 in dimensions
1.3k+... Thanks Alek. Just finished your video until the end. Will try your advice
I loved that first painting. So pretty!!
I've just started my vacations and had nothing to di up to now. Thx Will try this for sure
Excellent video, well informative!!
Can you suggest a tool for Windows users similar to the Preview tool in a Mac? Resizing and changing the DPI is tasking, but you seem to have it down on a Mac. Is there a Windows option?
Yes, please, I'd like to know this as well!
I’m going for it man, I’m marking the calendar, hit me up and hear and see how things have gone
i wonder how you can make the art in different scales as fast as i can. theres some way you can do it faster?
my preview on mac is kinda messed the size all the time.
appriciate the help alek!
Yes!! Let's all sell our souls for some change. How about trying to make actual art or selling something meaningful?
So I've watched your tutorial over and over as I take the steps you give for doing this...and am amazed at what can be created. I am seriously motivated to sell online as well once I have all the steps down. So far so good. I've created my own server on discord as you suggested and have been experimenting with all kinds of ideas for prints. My only question at this point is what aspect ratio should the images to be uploaded to Etsy be? Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share this information!
Also keen to know, thank you
Yes me too. Id like to know what image size for digital.
I got an image I liked, but when I upscaled it in midjourney, it ended up looking more obviously ai-generated. How can you upscale the size without that effect?
Theres ai image upscalers up to 4x
