Hi Alek, thank you for your inspiring and informative videos. How do you handle Printify's no-returns policy? Do customers just not care, or do you still offer returns somehow?
Hi Alex, thank you so much for the video. I just open an Etsy shop for nearly a month now and use this business model selling tumbler wrap. I've got 24 sales so far. It's works!
@@AbXy-rg2th He is not selling lies - I sell just tumbler wraps in my shop with almost 3000 sales from 2022 and that’s because I didn't do any promotions!
I must note through my own long experience on PODs since 2011. You need quality designs, designs that customers want or you cannot find success no matter what you do. With good designs all of the other factors then become important, research, SEO etc.
Your videos are the best that I've seen in teaching others how to do this. This has helped me immensely. I so appreciate this and I wish you much success!
I figured out how to calculate the aspect ratio. So if you have a picture that is 5 inches x 4 inches , the aspect ratio is 5:4 and is equal to .8 or 80%. For an 20oz skinny tumbler, the dimensions are 9.3 inches by 8.2 inches. When the latter two numbers is divided, you get 1.13 (rounded). I played around with the aspect ratio 3:2. 3 divided by 2 is 1.5, which is close, but not close enough to 1.13. Fiddling with the numbers, I found that 3 divided by 2.65 yielded 1.13! To then, I just multiplied both numbers by 100 to get the aspect ratio 300:265. I created it in Midjourney and tried the image out in Canva and it worked! There is probably an easier math route, but I thought I would pass it on. Alek and you all have helped me so much in my new venture. Now I can at least figure out any aspect ratio I need.
Hey Alex, thanks for sharing. Very interesting and very informative. One small point...you use the word 'profit' when you actually mean revenue / gross income. Profit is the net amount left after all costs.
AI is so powerful today that you pretty much have to use it. I don't complain because it's really good for content creators and good thing is that you can boost that same AI content you create with tools designed for that (there is so many of these right now, that it makes everything a lot easier to do and succeed on social media). And I think that AI is the best invention in this century so far.
It sucks that Printify ran out of skinny tumblers, printful seems to have some of the skinny straight one, but your cost would be about $20 and that's very high. I am looking somewhere else. Thank you so much for your instructions. They are super helpful. Learning is fun.
I would love to hear about the other aspects of getting the business to the point where they are today. Example’s like their marketing plan? The cost of that marketing plan? How do the drive eye balls to their site? I dig your video in as much as giving folks ideas for side hustles and using A.I. to be efficient. But I would love to see a follow up video where you talk with the owners of the sites and ask pointed questions in regards to the full operating costs associated with running a successful Etsy sight.
I'm in love with this videos, specially because today is my first day full time experimenting with midjourney for my stores! Alek, I'm commited! I will open 3 stores!
Great video!! Do you check/test you image sizing to make sure they are sized for the tumblers? When I do there is always a seam even if I used exactly the size he tumbler is. Any ideas for this? Or do I just make the PNG's the right size and the person buying needs to figure out how to resize as long as I made them a seamless pattern?
Hi Alek, I love our videos, thank you for explaining step by step the entire process. I cannot figure out why my midjourney images are not uploading to printify correctly. For instance tumblers, I put --ar 128:69 --tile after each prompt, selected a 20oz tumbler on printify and my images don't match up/fit. The preview section of each item in printify will show where the image connects and it is not seamless since I have to make adjustments. Clearly user error. What am I doing wrong? Am I saving them incorrectly? Any advice would be much appreciated.
I came across similar issues within MJ and found that adding "seamless, repeating pattern" before aspect ratio and tile helped center the images and create the patterns I desired. Not sure if that will translate into Printify, but it will help in the MJ portion to start at least. Hope that helps.
Hi Alex! Your videos are so awesome and such a help! Is this just for tumbler artwork? Thanks so much for being willing to share your knowledge with us!!!
Hi Alek. 128:69 = Is that inches? Pixels? To what tumbler does that fit? It looks different from the graphics to a 20 oz skinny tumbler that a lot of Etsy Mock ups use.
9:36 Heyy, Alek, superb content, as always!! Thank you so much for sharing this. Quick question: Is the --ar 128:69 the size for the 20oz tumbler made by SPOKE Custom Products? Thanks again, man!!
You're welcome, @nwinburn. I'm a brand new Etsy seller ( a newbie on the block). My shop is just 3 weeks old and I got 24 sales with 9 reviews so far. I'm using the dimensions that I described above.
@miss-yuniques may I ask where you can find this info for other tumblers? And how would you enter it as a ratio into AI description, in your example, 2790:2460?
I am having a very difficult time understanding the required image sizes for best quality on the different products. Most products require a quality that AI generators don’t offer. Can you perhaps offer some direction on the DPI and ratios ? As it seems, the quality that is produced is the same and only redistributed amongst the different aspect ratios but either way the resolution is still effected and quality drops when trying to apply the picture to a product?
AI design tool are very helpful but they rarely spit out finished design products. Often they can get the design 85% of the way there. In order to get designs that stand out and feel more custom and consistently branded to other designs in your store, you will want a designer to add the sprinkles. Talking about using Photopea to correct AI mistakes is a nice touch. Great content!
I agree with @dotpenji, A real designer can tweak and adjust the design based on your feedback and make changes until you are satisfied with the final result. AI design, on the other hand, involves using computer algorithms and machine learning to generate a design based on pre-existing templates and design elements.
Nice! Your understanding of this balance between AI efficiency and the added value of a designer's touch shows a great approach to achieving the best of both worlds.
You're absolutely right. AI design tools provide a strong foundation, but the human touch is essential for adding that final uniqueness and brand coherence. Integrating human design expertise, like with Photopea, ensures the perfect finishing touches.
Absolutely, I agree! AI design tools are incredibly useful but might not always produce finished design products. Having a designer could be a great help
AI design tools offer significant assistance, yet they often reach around 85% completion, necessitating a designer's touch for unique, cohesive, and polished outcomes, while the integration of tools like Photopea can help address AI errors effectively.
Are people just selling the tumbler designs or are they drop shipping from Printify? I'm looking for something that I won't need much capital $ to get going. If I decide to dropship from Printify, do I need to pay Printify upfront before the customer funds are received and deposited into my bank? Thank you!
No matter what I do, the aspect ratio never changes in the final images. They are always square and I’ve tried several combinations and did exactly as was done in the video.
what if the image is to go on a tumbler that does not have straight edges..like a cup that is wider on top narrow on bottom..how would you get that to be seamless when it would have to overlap on the narrow part..thanks
question for you on the size command, when I enter the --ar 128:69 to generate an image it produces an actual image size after saving of 20.67"Wx11.11"H that won't allow me to resize to the standard 9.5"Wx8.5"H slim 20oz tumblers take. Was that a mistake or am I missing something? Nice video thanks for all the info!

Thank you for the video but can you make a video about how to connect PayPal account to Etsy so that when an order is placed you can get the cash and now pay printful yourself

I continue to use midjourney but my aspect ratio requests don't work. I always get squares no matter what. I have a basic plan, $10/mo, is that the problem? Help.
Question Alek: I'm looking for the answer as to why there IS a seam on the tumbler back after using your aspect ratio, tiling the image and using CREATE PATTERN in Printify. Solution so appreciated! Thanks for the great videos Alek.
Hey Alek, can you make a video when you explain all the things we need to know about copy right? Images, slogans, frases, probably other stuff idk about.
I see a huge potential problem with this. The tumblers in most mockups (skinny) and the tumblers on printify are not the same. People will nitpick this and could cost reviews. I got a 3 star review on a sticker the person actually liked just because I accidently didn't make the background white and it was more transparent in the mockup. This could absolutely cost reviews and I'm not able to find 20oz mockups that look like the ones on printify. If you have a solution i'd like to hear it.
Hi Alek, find your tutorials really good thank you! I’m just a bit confused - if I sell the digital tumbler wrap designs as well as the actual POD tumblers then other people will purchase my tumbler wrap designs and sell the exact same POD tumblers .. maybe it’s not something to worry about that people will sell the exact same product on Etsy?
U can use either of them See the delivery charges, printing charges and other stuff They are the only difference between physical products and digital products
amazing video! I've made a new clipart digital store. How many listings should I be posting. I'm currently doing 5 a day but I can do more should I do 10 a day or will that be bad for the etsy algorithm?
Quality over quality. If all your mockups, designs, titles, pictures, descriptions, and tags are all well researched, customer focused, solving problems and just a little better than the competition, you can make a killing with one a week. More isn't better on ETSY. Better is better.
The second shop you showed does well by selling copyrighted images. Disney etc. frustrating for those of us who don’t do this illegal stuff. Their shop should be taken down. Hard to compete with these types of shops that break copyright rules.
@@drummerman1206so you want me to believe that an Etsy seller and there are many using Disney copyrighted images went to Disney corporation and sought out the. Its drastically changing the art style when I include the "tile" prompt so that it can repeat the top and bottom. Goes from beautiful art work to a child's book art work with the same prompt. lol
I really want to try this myself! I'd love to have someone to chat with who's going through the same experience. I don't want to sound like a creeper because I'm not lol but is there any way we can bounce stuff off each other? I'm just terrified of taking the plunge lol

My issue is the market is flooded, I have no money for advertising and little money period to just pay for listing on Etsy if they don’t sell, and I’m sure if you have tons of products you are wasting money on paying for a listing that hasn’t sold. Idk, I’m new to all this trying to make money thing 😂 I worked a dead end job for the man since I was 15 and I want the F out NOW! Lmao
If you have enough money sell cash secured puts of Companies that are guaranteed to never go bankrupt.
Great video. If I create an image in mid journey do I have the rights to then sell that image anywhere? If I have a subscription, but then stop the subscription with mid journey but have created images already can I still sell those
yep
Hi. Thank You that IS very helpful. I have a Question though, what IS the best Format or the Size for a Tumbler Design, as JPEG or PNG, in Millimeters or Inch. Thank you
Where are they purchasing the tumblers from ?
all artwork you make for this has to be 300 dpi correct?does printify handle lost orders or broken items?
'Tara Sparks' shop numbers you mentioned was 'revenue' not 'profit'. Although I'm sure they made a healthy profit after expenses.
Thank you for the video
but can you make a video about how to connect PayPal account to Etsy so that when an order is placed you can get the cash and now pay printful yourself
You have to pay for the print up front. Most people use a credit card for this. If you don’t have cash up front you should sell digital products instead of POD
The tile tag is great, but is there a way you can wrap a design horizontally, rather than tile it on both axis?
raise the same question.
This is so valuable & I'm watching every one of these but I'm still pretty new at this. Can you tell me why when I type in the "--ar 128:69--tile" I am still getting a 1:1 ratio every time and I can see it's not going to tile at all! Super frustrated! Thanks
Is there a way to make sure you don't get copywriter images from AI or does it do it on its own?
So are you selling just the tumbler wrap design or the actual tumbler wrap itself? I'm a little confused if the person would just be buying like a png template of the design graphic or the actual peel and stick tumbler sticker with design on it. thanks....
Thank you for the video! What size tumblers are you using for the design format given?
I continue to use midjourney but my aspect ratio requests don't work. I always get squares no matter what. I have a basic plan, $10/mo, is that the problem? Help.
Hey Alek, what do you think about wall art?
Question Alek: I'm looking for the answer as to why there IS a seam on the tumbler back after using your aspect ratio, tiling the image and using CREATE PATTERN in Printify. Solution so appreciated! Thanks for the great videos Alek.
Where's the link to the T-shirt mat?
Hey Alek not sure if I miss it but did you ever finish your automated uploader script for POD?
Hey Alek, can you make a video when you explain all the things we need to know about copy right? Images, slogans, frases, probably other stuff idk about.
I love your videos! One question, Alek...how do you know what aspect ratio to add to your command so it's the right size for your particular product?
I too have a issue making midjourney image fit different items
Alek, when selling these as digital downloads, do you prepare the tapered image as well as the straight?
Tapered wont be seamless but you can
I wonder if it’s really possible to compete in the ocean of other me too stores
@Alek I am brand new to this! I am entering the prompt --are 128.69 to design a tumbler and it keeps saying invalid prompt. What am I.doing.wrong???
I see a huge potential problem with this. The tumblers in most mockups (skinny) and the tumblers on printify are not the same. People will nitpick this and could cost reviews. I got a 3 star review on a sticker the person actually liked just because I accidently didn't make the background white and it was more transparent in the mockup. This could absolutely cost reviews and I'm not able to find 20oz mockups that look like the ones on printify. If you have a solution i'd like to hear it.
Buy a blank and make your own mockup
Hi Alek, find your tutorials really good thank you! I’m just a bit confused - if I sell the digital tumbler wrap designs as well as the actual POD tumblers then other people will purchase my tumbler wrap designs and sell the exact same POD tumblers .. maybe it’s not something to worry about that people will sell the exact same product on Etsy?
U can use either of them
See the delivery charges, printing charges and other stuff
They are the only difference between physical products and digital products
amazing video!
Gaming that UA-cam retention analytic. lol. And as always...
Thanks Alek.
Excellent and valuable information 🎉
I’m new to this, can anyone explain to me plz, why looking for mock-ups somewhere else when printify they already have? Why not using their mockups?
The second shop you showed does well by selling copyrighted images. Disney etc. frustrating for those of us who don’t do this illegal stuff. Their shop should be taken down. Hard to compete with these types of shops that break copyright rules.
I mean they could have paid for the rights to use them.
@@drummerman1206so you want me to believe that an Etsy seller and there are many using Disney copyrighted images went to Disney corporation and sought out the. PPU right usage and paid thousands for it???! Because that would be the only way they have the license. I highly doubt all of the Etsy sellers I see daily using these images have done that. So yeh… no!
so do you sell the images as png? or psd?
do you use any image enlarger websites even after upscaling from discord?
From which free ai art generators, can we sell images , without any issues
*Does 'basic plan' allows us for commercial use?*
Hi Alek, thank for the vidéo, i have a question, where did u found this awesome designs ?
Why is your aspect ratio 128:69? Does that create an image that is exactly the same size as a 20oz skinny tumbler?
Hi Alex, I enjoy your videos, thank you for taking the time to make them. Can I ask what is the best way to write in a prompt that I would like a style like children's illustration or children's drawing? something cute and lovely for children's clothes. thank you!
If you take the time and try different prompts you will eventually figure out how to get what you are looking for and then you will have gotten past the learning curve and have experience. As he said in this video it takes TIME and EFFORT.
Oddly, I downloaded the same mockup, but Photopea doesn't list the Your Design Layer Here under layers.
Which category does tumbler wraps fall under?
Hi Alek, would you like to teach me more details please? I want to learn more because I am interested about this.
Awesome,very good idea👍
Where does the code ar-128 come from when creating the image using AI?
Love this idea and I'm giving it a shot. One question: how do you get Midjourney to tile only left to right and not all four sides? Its drastically changing the art style when I include the "tile" prompt so that it can repeat the top and bottom. Goes from beautiful art work to a child's book art work with the same prompt. lol
how did you work around this?
I really want to try this myself! I'd love to have someone to chat with who's going through the same experience. I don't want to sound like a creeper because I'm not lol but is there any way we can bounce stuff off each other? I'm just terrified of taking the plunge lol
@@amyharrison2811 Hey Amy, still interested in bouncing stuff off each other? I have recently started with this, so I would be very happy to share and talk about it with someone
the AR 128:69 is not working for most mockups i'm finding online
Hello I’m starting a small business I’m looking for a site I can get designs from what is the AI website I should start with
How to sell such a low price when you use print On demand supplier?
where do I find the link for free Etsy listings?
Isn't fire fly free for now?
It’s frustrating not being able to open an Etsy shop because of the country I live in … will surely have to try other things
Your channel is amazing I remember watching when the first videos came out 👏
Use a vpn.
@@My78channel But wouldn't vpn reveal f ex bank account in another country... 🤔 If living in Nigeria, maybe it's not easy... 🤷♀️
What country do you live in?
We can work together so you can profit off of this as well using esty
open a US LLC.
All well and good, but then you must consider that after you post one POD it's immediately copied and pasted by other users then the market will be flooded and you'll make nothing. It happens all the time, most often it comes from India or Asian users.
This video is awesome!
