Just remember folks, each Etsy listing will cost you $.20 each whether you sell anything or not. Be sure to take that into account when you are looking to set up your own shop. Looking at shops that have 7000 listings is great but remember that they spent $1400 just to list those items. And the truth is that there are probably a lot of items that have never been sold once. Etsy is definitely a volume game.
I've started an ETSY shop in January. I've put all my time effort into the business by following the steps from previous videos. I'm yet to make a sale. It's now March.
I started in november 2021, and it wasnt until 3 months after that I made my first sale. I'm 122 sales further now 1.5 years later, it really takes some time in my experience. But don't give up! I've also had 3 orders over €100,- aswell as a custom order of €95,-!!! Once you reach the right audience your customers will also return for future purchases which is what you really want :))
I loved this video; thank you. I was one of the people that started giving up. I wasn't looking for instant riches, but I was hoping for at least one sale, but I'll just keep posting.
I'm so happy today .. i got my first sale exactly one month after i start my shop . The thing is that i run a sale every day .. but today i got busy and forgot to run the sale .. and BOOM i got a sale in full price .. thank you for all your advices
I think you're probably right about volume, however I have seen some shops who have 20 listings or less that are getting tons of sales. Maybe it just really depends on do people love your products. So quality matters just as much as quantity. I started my Etsy shop in Aug. 2022 using Printify for t-shirts, sweatshirts, and mugs, but I didn't add a lot of listings (I think only 15, and the listings took me a long time since I was a new and I spent way too long on the mockups trying to make them look super perfect), and I only sold one thing, so I gave up....until I got a plan a couple months ago that I was going to handmake mugs and sell only mugs. I only had 20 listings of handmade mugs, and I focused on designs people could personalize. In one month I made 6 sales and 2 sales on eBay, but handmaking and shipping the mugs is a pain. Sometimes the prints transferred correctly and looked great and other times they did not come out quite right so I would have to re-make them, which ate up any profit I got, so I changed everything back to POD. I'll keep adding more listings and give it time to scale and grow. Thank you for so much valuable information. Btw, I do agree on the idea that if you list more items it does increase the chance that someone will see one of them and really want to buy it. I think by staying consistent and continuing to do quality work anyone could grow their business. I'm really glad I found your channel, I have already learned so much from you. Thank you!

Thanks for the video Alek! I have a quick question. I see lots of shops selling multiple items using the same design. For example, they give choices if you'd rather buy a t-shirt or hoodie using the same listing. My question for you is would it be better to have those same choices (t-shirt or hoodie) in multiple listings? In other words, create a separate listing using the same design for hoodies, t-shirts, tank tops, etc?
When you say five products per day, how many unique designs would that be? If you made five products per day from one design, would that count? I think these are two different metrics that need to be discussed. Products/listings versus designs.
I don’t want to see you do any tutorial on the resume templates 🙈 lol because I’ve started it and I’ll create up to 100 by next month 😂 So I don’t want more competition😂
After all the fees, I'm left with maybe $3-6 profit on shirts. So eventhough you estimate 3 mil $ revenue for IkersonLTD, is it safe to say, that their actually profit = income was "only" around 300-500k in 3 years?
Hey chief, I appreciate your content. One question when doing POD stickers. Which sticker type are you selecting on Printify? There’s a couple different ones, and if you have experience about the best type to choose, that would be great to know!
I first wanted to sell t-shirts and mugs, got some views and clicks but no sales yet, after a few listings I decided to change it up to png (designs for mugs and t shirts) selling, but the competition seems too high because I am barely getting any views, is it better to keep listing these designs to one day get views or change up my strategy?
Loved this video,Alek! How many listing does it normally take to start generating full-time income on Etsy?Going into 2023, I feel being successful on Etsy will be purely a numbers game( quantity + quality) and superior digital marketing skills with the amount of sellers joining every month in practically the same niches and using the same research tools(erank, everbee, sales samurai etc.) so I am curious to know your thoughts on this, thanks.
Thanks for that :) It really depends on the niche and the type of products. For t-shirts it may be 1-3 thousand depending on how quickly you can get good at making them. For things like digital products it's usually much lower, but it all depends on how quickly you can get good at making products
Is it better to list 20 items a day to reach 2000+ or is it fine to post 2000+ in a month? Is it better to space out the listings vs listing a bunch in a short amount of time?
Great video, I enjoy your content. I read some of the comments on your videos , some are very negative. I've asked myself why? What do those people hope to gain? Are they warning others about fake or inaccurate content? Or are they just miserable, hateful people who have nothing better to do than just be dicks? Either way, I find your content insightful, realistic, and honest. I guess Taylor is correct. Haters are going to hate. It reminds me of my friends ex-wife, who he says is filled with hate, so much so it consumes her. Thank you again for the content. It's good.

It's my 4th month on Etsy with over 350 sales, not too grand. I have 297 listings now on my store. My goal is to get 1000 listings up before 2024. In my first month until the third month, I felt it was really hard to put up 2 listings a day because of the product type that I'm selling. The product creation process took so long because I was still learning. Now that I'm getting better at it, I can put up at least 8 listings a day; even though sometimes I feel like throw up lol but gotta work on it for at least a year to see if I can get the result that I want. This video is one of my motivation sources. Thanks!
@@oliverbignall2252 It's growing gradually. Now I'm at 710 sales, 497 listings and this month gonna be my first month to reach $1000/month in revenue (now I'm just $8 away to reach it).

Hello! I've been following you for about a month now, and I have a question! I've seen some other etsy-focused youtubers claim that if you post too many listings to a NEW store in a single day (5+), then your store suffers because the views on them aren't as high and so etsy doesn't push your ranking up. Do you find this to be true, or do you find that you should you just keep pushing as many listings as you can handle to a new shop? Thanks!
I'm not sure where they got that information from, but in my PERSONAL experience, I've posted up to 50 products a day and didn't see a negative result. However, that was back in 2020-2021 so maybe something changed
Aye, there is such thing where if you list too many listings at once then Etsy's algothitm needs some time to where your shop stands in ranking but it's can't be proven in my opinion. However, I do notice jump if trafic and less sales if I do any major changes to my shop whether I update descriptions in bulk or changing tags it normally would take up to 72h to get everything back to normal.
Alek, I appreciate you going through your journey. Could you dive into your process of creating materials and how they have improved over time? Maybe even do a live walkthrough type thing where you take us through coming up with an idea and putting it through its paces of concept all the way to sale? Since you've seen so much and been through the ups and downs, what are common mistakes that you see people do? Since there is such a emphasis on volume, are there Etsy stores that are very niche and have low volume but high sales? Needless to say, you've peaked my interest and I'm wondering if I or my wife should try this out... thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos. I look forward to all the information and value you are providing. Much appreciated.
Great video, so motivating! :) Wow you are so close to 100k! Weren't you just at 30k like last week? Well deserved! Sorry but that Ikerson shop uses a Comfort Colors shirt mockup but sells Bella and Canvas shirts. They price so low and make it look like they're such a good deal compared to others that really sell that shirt. But people who actually sell the Comfort colors shirt have to price higher because it's a much pricier shirt. It's unfair because it's a lie in a move to get market share on Etsy. I started during xmas so got sales right away, but these months in the new year have been so slow. Hoping it does pick up. Output is so important.
So logical. That bonus tip was gold, the competition comes from something that's already working. If you're the first to do something, YOU'RE the one figuring out if it works or not. Excellent video, thanks 👌
You've given me renewed faith in my store. I've been open for around two months, a lot of likes and favourites but no sales yet. I just need one sale and review for people to have confidence in my store. Holding out! Listing every day
Share your shop here, I'd be happy to buy something and leave you a review. I won't lie in it, but if the product is good, I'll leave you a great review. Happy to help out. Leave a link or at least the name of the shop so I can check you out. And the best of luck in your business. Success doesn't happen overnight and I think it's great you haven't given up.

I'm not sure where they got that information from, but in my PERSONAL experience, I've posted up to 50 products a day and didn't see a negative result. However, that was back in 2020-2021 so maybe something changed
@@alekSheffy Thanks for the reply! Love your content! Keep it up! :D
Thanks so much, your sharing really help me on starting shop on Etsy and do some others businesses I struggled to do for a year.
Listing every day
I started in November and got some sales but it's a slow momentum
Ask a friend to buy
Share your shop here, I'd be happy to buy something and leave you a review. I won't lie in it, but if the product is good, I'll leave you a great review. Happy to help out. Leave a link or at least the name of the shop so I can check you out. And the best of luck in your business. Success doesn't happen overnight and I think it's great you haven't given up.
2 months, 85 listings in, 2 orders. Trusting the process and pressing on 🙏🙏
What are you selling?
@@ethanjolleyy POD Shirts, sweatshirts and things of the sort
@@Big_Thompy ok, I've been wanting to start, and i have some pretty good ideas for designs, but I'm only 17. So I think I'm gonna ask my parents to use their account.
Your content is fantastic mate. Keep up the good work and never change your style and dont bow down to the easy money sponsorship and affiliate marketing garbage
Thank you for the solid advice! You are the first person I’ve come across that is laying out the process in a simple format without a “get rich quick scheme” attitude. Simple, direct, to the point steps that are easy to follow. The time and dedication that is necessary to build a successful Etsy shop. I love your advice!
Started my Digital Art store on Etsy earlier this week! Thank you so much for the tips and inspiration, looking forward to the long and educational road ahead :)
Any update vids on the Etsy store ????
Your channel is EXPLODING!! Well worth it man, congratulations. Thank you so much for all of the value you provide - I hope you get 10x in return
Ooohh I am SO glad someone else is giving ACTUAL information. I am started on Etsy, have a couple sales.....working on building it slowly but atleast you can list what you can afford and it's easier to maintain over time. Building up is tough though to get to scale higher! Thanks for this!! It's taken me years but I am determined oneday - LOL to get there!!
Glad it was helpful! You'll get there
Thank you for being so honest. This is the best video you made from all the Etsy videos you made because you talk about:
Either commit to volume
Or
Fail
It basically comes down to that after watching about 15 of your amazing videos.
Thank you man, I really appreciate the effort you put into this wonderful, honest and super helpful video!!

Uhh I created by phone but couldn't pass with phone number cuz I'm Lithuanian
But do you still need phone number by using 💻?
