Thought of you and your upcoming challenge this morning as I shopped at Superstore, Melanie. Although I only had a few items on my list, I was ready for any bargains that presented themselves. Lo and behold (cue angels singing) I spotted a pile of $8 whole chickens with 50% off stickers. I was confident I could fit 4 in the freezer so I scooped them up with a smile on my face. Made my day.
HI Melanie, if you store mushrooms in a paper bag they keep really nice. They can get dried out but that's preferable to moldy. Seeing those pickles reminded me I hadn't had a PB & pickle sandwich for years, so I just had a couple.
Can’t believe you are ramping up for a pantry challenge before Christmas. Lol maybe if it’s just for 30 days. 🤷🏻♀️ I’d be doing it in January thinking , well gotta lose some weight anyways why not do a challenge. Haha . I’m getting ready for a spend as I haven’t spent a nickel on groceries since October 2nd. Been using canned milk for my creamer. Using up some old freezer food. I look forward to seeing what you can do with your challenge for 2. 😁
I do realize this video is a month old however i must tell you that yogurt is a gold mine! I have almost stopped buying most dairy products in favor of a large container of Full Fat Greek Yogurt Use it for Smoothies, Sour Cream, Thin with a little vinegar for buttermilk, add a bitnof agave or honey and fruit whole or pured for parfaits, Use as half n half or heavy cream in baking thin to correct consistency . I use in most casseroles calling for dairy As i said it is a gold minenof possibility and helps to reduce the grocery budget using one product. It usually is a very clean product as an added bonus with no conditoners fillers or colorants
Looking at how you have everything needing to be used on your counter. I think I may do the same and take a photo. Hopefully then I won't stand with the fridge door open.....what to have for supper???

@@ruthmurray2247 OMG Awesome. I looked and looked for a whole chicken to start my challenge and there were no deals. Sadly.

@@dsc1970 I normally take everything out of store packaging and put in storage containers. I've been lazy lately.
Great job! I’m really excited to see the meals that you make. You’re so creative! Have a super week
Thank you, Darlene.
Love your videos. You’re so creative. Have a super weekend!
Thanks.
I always learn new stuff from you! I've never heard of haskap before and they even grow in my state. (MN)
@@karlapatterson7194 I find them really tasty. They are tart and taste like a cross between a raspberry and a blueberry.

@deedream10 I keep thinking the week of Christmas may need to be a break... or maybe not if we're really, really good at the challenge.

@@christinesimmons3313 I will need to research yogurt a bit more.
If you need to take an extra week of purging...we will all support you
Absolutely 😊
If you have flour I like to make greek yogurt + flour + baking powder (to make it self rising) and then make pretzel bites that way
@@bananahannahjay I'm curious about this
You did great Melanie! Lots of great deals! 🎉😊❤

Hi from BC..I recently came across a polish dill pickle soup. It looked very tasty, you could try it out?

I am planning a low spend January 2025. Company and family coming for the Holidays. ❤️
@michellesmith9662 A January recovery is always a good idea.
The chips survived being opened that long? I thought they would have fallen victim to the have to eat them up before they go stale reason😅
@@leeanne8651 LOL.
I grew up in a house where chips were “stale” the next day so we HAD to eat them! 😂
