    I agree with John about sleeping in the camper when at friends or family homes. You don't have to worry about inconvenience anybody when you sleep late or get up early. You can stay up late and watch TV while everybody is sleeping or you can go to bed early when everybody's not ready to go to bed.

    I’m new here. I was loving the content but kept noticing this guy take jabs at her. When talking about harvest hosts, he said he didn’t love the company but loved the place. When she talks about feeling unsafe in certain places, he’s just dismissive and laughs at her. I could go on, but I know I’m just gonna get lit up for pointing this out. She’s gorgeous and he is beyond lucky to have her.

    We use truck stops. We pay the $10 to dump our tanks in the morning. The night before we fill our fresh water then park for the night. They almost always have potable water and the fill hose is far away from the dump hose. We're very cautious about that. Our grey tank is only 15gal so, after we each shower it's about full. Plus, washing up our travel mugs, coffee stuff, etc and we're full. We love having a daily shower and $10 is worth it to us. We also sleep in out truck camper at Family visits. They think we're crazy to stay outside but we LOVE having our own space! Happy camping all!

    we Love u guys,,,, here in the UK (England).. We've been camping since 1968, and we love it, sometimes when you have money to spare you can do stuff, but many people don't realise even money tight, you can still get out there, and feel the freedom away from 'the Rat race' and just relax,,
    England is a medium size Island, and the very good Police are only ever a few mins away if you have to do a 999 call.. it is against the Law to own or carry a Gun or any Weapons here, and despite the Media reports Gun and Knife crime here is minimal for the vast majority. campers tend to stick together, lookout and support each other, family s mix well, and enjoy it, Do it, i'm sure you will Live longer for it.....

    Regarding travel with our rig;
    We love Harvest Host! Have used it a lot!
    The wineries are my favorite 😍
    However the museums we have found have all been amazing stays!
    We stay away from Walmarts (bad experiences) , but we will do CB…… AND… I don’t have to clean the dishes Mercedes !!
    Though on the way back from NM to home in east TN during a massive storm in LA… we pulled off barely able to see through the rain to a Walmart! Prayed for the best🙏🏼
    It was quiet which we had not seen in years. There was only one other RV.
    I found a Papa John’s on the other side of the huge shopping area…I called and explained that I wanted delivery but had no address😂. The manger looked out and saw us way across the huge lot. No a problem, SHE delivered it to us in her car!!! Such great service on such an awful stormy night.

    Unfortunately, here in California and many other states those stores you mentioned are not RV friendly. All the Lowes, HD, Costco, grocery stores all have no overnight signs. Casinos are still ok and I would imagine any 24-hour place like Planet Fitness would be good too. I wish there were more Cracker barrels in CA. Most of those privileges were taken away a long time ago when folks (including homeless living in old RV's) ruined it for all of us by abusing the places.

    We just got a tire pressure monitoring system on our RV...something new to learn, but last trip our passenger side rear duallies both blew...they were brand new...so...decided it was time to get something that tells us we have a problem before it gets too expensive. Also...make them put new valve stem extenders on when you get new tires! We think that was the problem.

    • @marsack7
      @marsack7 4 місяці тому

      We had new tires put on ours but they left the old valve stems and they all failed on the same trip. Bummed. We had to stop 2 places to change them. What is it with these tire shops. Now we know to tell them to change the stems and to check that they did it right. You'd think if they wanted return business, they'd do it without our needing to check up on them.

Although, if you camp in many of the Forest Service and BLM campgrounds in North Idaho, the ones that are out in the mountains, there are often quite hour rules. You have to be quiet from 10pm to something like 6am. And you cannot run generators during those times. The vast majority of these campgrounds don't come with utilities at the campsites. People have to basically boon dock. They do this so that you can truly enjoy the forest at night and there are still lots of people who camp in tents. But, it is so totally worth it. Some of the best camping we've done, has been in these spots. There is usually wildlife and gorgeous scenery. And, you usually find that your neighboring campers are friendly. And the campsites are huge compared to what you get elsewhere. Just some food for thought.

    You guys are very like minded Americans. You are living our dream. When my wife retires in 5 and 1/2 years we are buying an rv (small one) and taking off . I am 63 and already retired so been Motorcycle camping with all my free time. It will be nice to step up. We will need excellent air conditioning , shower and toilet separate, walk around murphy or regular queen bed prefer a king but you know, solar panels, adequate fresh,gray, and black tanks, and a back up camera. All this under 5000 pounds so out Toyota Highlander can pull it . 😅

    It is about time you 2 knuckleheads got back on the road!! I enjoyed this video. I did stop watching a lot (not all) of your T.C. videos because I like on the road videos. We have watched ever since your early Florida days! We are only 30min away from T.C. John I would never tell anyone what firearms you carry because all it takes is one bad cop/criminal to decide to relieve you of them, surprise is always a good defense and don't forget bear/hornet spray (sprays out 20 feet). We love camping in the desert, BLM land, BTW Mercedes you can camp on BLM areas where there are LOTS of people, but we like to camp where there are only a few. Enough of my rant, be safe and have fun out there!!

    I stumbled upon you guys and it is so refreshing! Sorry, we did buy our camper from Camping World and it was a great experience. Conway, New Hampshire. We have a 28' Keystone Cougar 5th wheel. We are taking my first trip driving to Montana. My husband is from there so he has traveled from the east coast to MT several times in different ways. Learning about Boondocking etiquette is so important for sure~! We do have solar panels on our roof, but do have a very quiet generator. I'm thankful for all your information! Wow so many links! Thank you for being you!

    Also state parks and someone mentioned COEs already. Love COEs!! Quite often state parks will give “ senior” discounts for those over a certain age. Like you said…Do your research!

    My first time watching your videos. I've watched several but THe rv we just bought off a private owner has water damage. Not from roof. So we won't need the guide til next year.
    Your campground is 15 hours but we could do it. It's on our list. Pray that the repairs to our camper are not going to break our pockets and that we are on the road sooner then later. God bless you, praise the Lord.

    Another cheap or almost cheap camping spots 12:01 are hotels. The first hotel where I parked my camper was in Virginia Beach, VA. I had reservations at First Landing State Park but had a late start. I didn’t get there until around 10 pm. Unfortunately, with the dark I passed the campground several times and drove into Virginia Beach. The second time I noticed a hotel as I entered the town. But, stubborn as I am, I decided I’m trying one more time to find the campground. When I arrived at the hotel I decided to ask if I could park my camper there. It was a small one, about 15’. They had forms for campers to fill out. It cost $10 but it was worth it. I did find the campground the next morning. I stayed at a few more hotels without being charged. They were open 24 hours and had the doors open all the time.
    You are a wonderful family and hope to meet you at your campground soon.
    God bless you!!!

    I feel safer on BLM than in some RV parks now that I am a widow.

    Make sure you know the state/county laws for self defense as not all same. Also good to have insurance that covers atty fees on top of your rv insurance. Remember the 4th & 5th if you use the 2nd. Good video. Nice seeing you exploring again.

    Oooppps Careful Judge Again we are saying because they where purple does not go with my dive my comfort closet come on please. I still have a hard time looking at anybody with excessive piercings excessive ink on their body. I realize my better have told me they're still just humans inside, but I worry about what caused them to do imaging I am trying not to be judgmental. There are certain preferences. I have been Brong up to believe is not acceptable and you know what it is not it's the way I had been taught. It was the way I was Prada, but I can, as a senior citizen realize there are differences, and it's not within my purview to be judging because Christ definitely and that's the way we have to approach us if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, judging in that sense is not gonna get you closer to the podium we know that it goes against our nature, whether you believe in faith of Christianity Buddhism whatever you wanna call it because when you look at our constitution, our early brothers said that there has to be a separation of church and state because the majority of them hated Catholics and they were protestant and they knew drawing monarchy on one is greater than the other is not gonna work because that's what we thought so hard to leave behind Capeesh women are the same they breathe, just like the rest of us I think the biggest danger we have is people sitting around, pointing the differences out giving you something to fear that is so easy

    Be careful not to camp too long on the PA. Turn pike. I hauled barrier wall to the pike and slept in a rest area, When I was stopped to pay my toll they said I stayed too long and tried to get me to pay extra. But ended up getting through with 1 toll. They track time on your ticket. Well not no more. All on computer now.

    Just make a note, that not every Walmart still allows overnight camping. Different states and counties have been cracking down on campers, thanks to people abusing the area they are parked in; such as leaving trash around the area for instance. This is also coming from the company itself for the same reason, as they are then forced to pull store employees from their other duties to clean up after people.
    Do your homework and save yourself a massive head ache, before you end up getting a late night knock on your door by police. We have a worker shortage problem going on in Michigan depending on the part of the state you're visiting. Best to just go into the store and ask one of the manager's first and not assume that you have the right to park there overnight. They have the same rule for roadside parks and state run rest stops, as in them you are only allowed a set amount of time. I think it's four hours tops, but don't quote me on that. there have been recent articles on the rest areas, so again do your homework first. :)
