Perfect teacher! Not too fast or slow. Not wasting time explaining basic stitches that should be known already but explaining while showing new stitches that need work. Slow action showing where the hook is being placed and the exact stitch going into. Enough repetitions of repeat rows to ensure we can move forward. Excellent tutorial!

I don’t normally comment on videos, but with this one I just have to! I have so many things to say but I’ll attempt to keep it short. I love your tutorials. They are aesthetically pleasing. Not just viewing wise, you make it so easy to see what you’re doing. But also sound wise. Your voice is soooo calm, but you are also fun! This pattern is gorgeous, I’m doing it two strand with mandala, Gnome and Wizard, and I feel like it’s going to be one of my favorite pieces.
But enough about that. I wanted to thank you. Because you don’t go too fast, but you also don’t go so slow that I feel the urge to speed up the video. You are one of the only UA-cam instructors that I have no problem following along to! And! If it weren’t for you I would have never figured out the virus stitch. After finding your channel I catch myself planning my yarn around the patterns you have tutorials for 😂 I just wanted to say thank you! You are such a wonderful, fun, layed back person and incredibly talented as an artist AND as an instructor. I wish I knew you in real life!

Wolfie Baxter 12345 I agree with everything will feed Baxter just said. I have reconnected with crocheting after many years. My mother had taught me, but I didn’t really take to it. Now I’m older, 72, and I found fiber spider and have learned more watching your videos and following them than I ever did before. In fact I made this blanket is pretty much the same colors and gave it to my daughter. She loved it and was so proud of me. LOL I also agree that you are pleasant to listen to and very easy to follow your videos. I would also like to know you you have such a wonderful personality. OK enough money now I’m back to my crocheting! Keep up the good work fiber spider! And keep the videos coming!

I was going to comment the same thing about his calm soothing voice, He speaks at the right tempo so you can crochet along with him and he encourages you as you go. I'm crocheting lapghans and donating to the local hospital for their cancer patients (who sit long periods of time while receiving chemo treatment--and need a small cover-up on their legs). I crocheted the Bavarian Stitch lapghan using 12 ounces of variegated yarn and it's the perfect lap size. Thank you Fiber Spider!!

I love this so much. I made one big square. I'm going to make a few more and make a big blanket. I'm using berroco dash yarn. It's super spongey, soft merino wool. It doesn't have great stitch definition so this pattern is perfect for it! And I love all the different fall colors speckled throughout. Thanks for uploading this and it's nice to think that five years later Gloria is still being remembered! ❤️

I also quilt and with quilt topss that have a lot of angles you want the quilting with swirls or rounded quilting. This afghan is very angular so a nice rounded border finishes it off well.

Hi. As you can see, my name is Sherrie. I'm from Montana. I learned how to crochet and knit before I could write my name. Personally, I can't stand to knit but at least I can pass the art down to my grandchildren. I normally find the Granny square LONG!!! But I saw you're picture of this and I just HAD to check in and I am so glad I did. I'm 62 and still crocheting. I had to giggle because I use size "G" all time. You're hook looks so much smaller than mine. Lol. Also, you're tension is AWESOME!! You've made yourself a new fan! Thank you. I cannot wait to go buy some new yarn and do this pattern!!!

Pairing the "Parfait with a white yarn, and, the "cake batter with a "soft"-light gray! Using the HDC stitch-for both projects-I think would be smashing! What a project idea!😁🤓🤭 It's "on" as soon as I can get 5 skeins each of the 2 yarns-along with the white and soft gray. I'll hook you up(no pin intended) with photos when done! Doug, guy, lefty and doin' it for 53 years!👍🤓🧸🐻

It was great to find your videos. I actually looked you up because Creative Grandma sent me your way. I have been in a wheelchair for about four years now and before COVID, I was still active coaching softball. Since the pandemic started, I have not left my house since February. While talking to a friend, we joked that I should learn to crochet. Haha, three days later, a crochet kit and some yarn showed up at my house. Challenge accepted. My first project was a pot holder. Then a couple of blankets, 3 towels and a partridge in a pear tree. It was so great to find another male who not only can crochet but is by far the best instructor I have watched. Thank you for being you. You and a few others have brought joy back to my life. I am starting to get requests from family and friends and, I can always find something in your tutorials. I wanted you to know how appreciated you are.

What a treat it is to actually be able to SEE exactly what the tutor is doing! With most other people I wind up talking back to the vidio..."Wait! Where exactly did you insert the hook? Move your fingers out a bit! Slow down!" I am left handed and have to mentally reverse everything and when I can't see every detail of a stitch it isn't easy. Guessing isn't a good thing. You are a wonderful designer and your tutorials are a total delight to watch. You don't rush and your manner is always calm. I hadn't thought about doing a granny design as I made many granny projects when I first started crocheting a lonnng time ago. There was so little variety in them "way back when"... This design is different...I love post stitches... and I love the look of the completed design!

It seems to be made of fabric that has been shredded and compressed. I made a pillow for my daughter because of a problem with her legs. The cats use it when she isn't using it and do the kneading thing on it. I intend to make the beautiful shawl for my other daughter. She and her husband got COVID and have been tasteless for a few months. We are taking them to the Grand Canyon on my birthday.

I love to listen to your calm and caring voice for your students. I happen to have gotten some Ice Cream Big Scoop yarn. I am now following your wonderful instructions to make the Glorious Granny, in honor of your friend - Gloria. I have been in the damps lately, thanks for lifting me out of it with this pattern to keep me busy. I appreciate you Glorious Fiber Spider!

No it's not just you, so weird, I was just telling my aide today that I like to listen to men, more so than woman, I think it is their, calming voice, and they seem to take more time showing you how, it's done.Ladies I am not taking any thing away from you, cause I do have a few of you that I follow.

Cecely Hinga when I found out my father crocheted at age 6 my mind was BLOWN! 😂 My grandmother Mary, (she started my crochet training) told me she taught my dad. I didn’t believe her at the time. Then when football season started my dad pulled out this huge bag of yarn I had NEVER seen in my life, and started crocheting a blanket. I WAS STUNNED 😳. He was fast, accurate and rarely looked at his work. I respected him and all men that craft from that day on. 😉😊🥰

This was a fun pattern! I made a blanket for my friends prenatal program in Haiti with this pattern. My goal is to send 100 baby blankets by May. I have 6 so far. I am not making them all obviously, lol. I am collecting clearance ones from stores. I plan to make 25 to 30. I have you to thank , for all the wonderful patterns you have shared with us. I don't want any of these blankets to be the same. I am having so much fun. Thank you so much.

Have no idea how I found your tutorial but so glad I did! I was getting tired of the 'regular' granny squares, then I saw this...WOW. I just ordered more yarn with no idea what I'd do with it, now I know. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to start another afghan. Do you have the pattern written down anywhere? Really would like a written pattern so I don't have to sit at the computer to work on this.

    • @chrisnkeys

You don't really need a written pattern Jean, as each round is a repeat of the last, so once you have done a couple of rounds, you can do it from memory.

This is a lovely blanket, one thing I need to ask you is it something wrong of your camera? Because last time your video screen was very small, I only can watch it on the small iPad, the screen already small and you make it even smaller, and I saw some other people did mention it too, please make it like before, that will be very appreciate. Thank you

    • @robertamc3994

Judy Chan I wish it were larger without the black border too. There is a way to make it bigger but the border is still there. In the bottom right corner of the black border is a square box symbol. If you click on it the video (with the border) will fill the entire screen. To minimize it back to the normal size click the symbol in the lower right corner that has the box corners reversed. This is on an iPad but I think android tablets have a similar feature.

Thank you for a fun tutorial. I have a couple of skeins of Redheart Stripes and am making a blanket with this pattern for my great-grandson with this. He is autistic and has severe vision problems so I wanted something with a lot of texture for him. This pattern is perfect. Again thank you so much. I am 71 and have been doing crochet since I was 17 and use videos for ideas and to learn new techniques and patterns. You and Crystal of Bagoday are my favorites to watch and have the best videos and tutorials.

Well, it seemed very hard just to look at the picture, but once I started watching him crocheting it, I noticed that it was easier, and I tell you what I like, it better than the granny star square blanket, which the present that was showing how 😮
I managed to learn the star, but not a stinking square maybe you can teach it I know that you could do a better job on teaching me and the rest of the audience. Thank you. Love you.❤ thank you for all the hard work you put in the tutorials.🎉 PS I forgot to tell you I already started making this blanket I’m on row 6 but I’m going to stop until I find a better yarn.
