Professionalism. These guys, they have little tricks. They have to, because they have to always appear professional before a camera, even when things are going south for them in life. So they learn how to keep it together. And boy did she pull them on this one: Smiling more, put a somewhat wider grin when tears would come close, for instance (quite effective). You can pinpoint too when she was about to break by the way she would suddenly throw the eyes to a side, then back to the camera, a very effective trick at keeping things at hand, and not break down in tears.
It's amazing she kept it together. You can tell how much Kobe meant for her. And her tribute has been one of the most touching we've seen, as you very well say.

Seeing GiGi next to her dad so much breaks my heart, she loved the game as much as her dad. I did the same when my dad took me to Baylor basketball games in the 90s. She would have been an amazing player. If anything it is comforting knowing they are still together.

Rachel Nichols has always been one of my favorites. After this, all bets off! Absolutely incredible! You can tell she adored Kobe and is crushed! But, kept it together! Deserves an Emmy!
As for Kobe; my favorite player behind only Magic! He was going to be even BIGGER in his next life!
R.I.H. Kobe and Gianna! Rest In Heaven all who perished that morning! 😢😢😢😢
