Check out my German Junker and Ruh , its the exact same design , love the simplicity and sound of these machine's...... i use 15 x 1 needles , there is a line at the top of the needle bar you line up with the top of the needle bar box and the eye of the needle needs to be at the deck , i use a thread guide to set needle then line up the hieght , lock it and done ....

I was not able to get a 15x1 needle into the needle clamp, it was to big. I did get 16x231 to fit, both the Freja and the Singer 12.
