And also a question: I read or saw somewhere that the motor oil one uses should be mineral rather than synthetic as mineral oil burns more cleanly in the combustion chamber and synthetic has the risk of leaving a buildup of residue on the injection nozzle, but as your engine oil was synthetic what are your thoughts on this?
Im pretty sure he has a Sohn adapter so he can basically use any kind of oil he wants and not hurt the car..

Is that area in the trunk really meant to store quarts of oil? Because that's genius.
It's for the fix a flat kit because there is no spare tire. However, most people use it to hold oil including me.
I have the OBDII scanner, paper towels, jumper cables, oil, coolant, 2-stroke oil, tire pressure gauge
A set of basic tools (screwdrivers, mini ratchet, clamps...), 5L of coolant, medkit !
I'd also add a 1/4" ratchet and socket set. Very handy and useful.
Many DIY store chains have their own brand of "cheap but not-so-crappy" tools, I'd recommend buying those for this purpose.

Dude i knew rotaries' consumption was bad, but seriously allmost 20l/100km that's insane
That was before my ignition upgrade. Now I get 13l/100 km.
Do NOT tow your rx8 by those loops. The manual was poorly localized, and they are intended to be used for tie down , not towing.

try rx8 forums. there is good description of what to look after and clean. had same issue,after cleaning engine bay. cleaned connectors and it worked again

That's a great addition and makes the engine last longer 😄👌 The reason I didn't include premix it is that if you run out of it, it poses no threat or immediate damage to the engine. I see it more as a supplement. UNLESS you have a sohn adapter and your main lubrication system is the 2 stroke in the bottle. Then its vital as hell 👌

idemitsu have changed their oil bottles, may not fit that recess anymore, so best keep hold of your old ones. How did u even realise they fit there, genius 👍

Oil, Coolant, Jumper Cables, tire pressure gauge, towels, and a few tools stay I'm my trunk at all times.

2 stroke oil is a must have as well.
If you premix, or have a sohn adapter, then yes :)
It isn't a must on standard engines. You get enough lubrication from the oil pump. PZ versions have two pumps. With a standard engine I'd only pre mix if you have removed the cat. It will reduce the smell off petrol, as they run very rich

First aid kit for when you inevitably injure yourself working on something. Flashlight for when you inevitably have to work on something at night. A funnel for the oil (both the engine and the premix). A portable air compressor just in case a tire is low.

I just wanted to say thank you for mentioning the scanner. I purchased one for $15 off ebay, paid $5 for an app, and check it almost daily. Today my MIL came on, in less than two min I knew it was an o2 sensor going bad.
