Racing beat has dash guage kits that work great and fairly easy to install. I got the one that replaces the ash tray: Coolant temp, oil pressure, oil temp
Ive got 2 glowswitch digital guages for temp/pressure. Im able to monitor water oil temp oil pressure and fuel pressure. As well as obd2 on my phone for some extra stats. I did the fusebox set up
212 isn’t very high. I’ve had multiple Renesis up to 240 without any coolant or compression issues. I’d pull over at 220 and shut it down at 230 personally.
Seconded, I took my car out on track and it was holding 205-215 for the most part, even with upgraded cooling parts. I also eased off at 220, shifting at 8000 to 8500 helps keep the car cool at the expense of laptimes
Did you ground the temp sensor radiator hose adapter body? They're supposed to be grounded and it is best to use sealant liquid instead of Teflon tape so the sensor body can get that ground from the adapter too.
They are not supposed to be grounded, it is connected to rubber hoses and does not touch the frame anywhere. The ground for the temperature sensor is the black wire
I heard someone used the "HKS camp2 "to show the water and oil temp inside the OEM flip screen and costs around 500. I thought there's already a screen inside the car so why not just let it do something. But HKS only sale them in Euro and Jp... can be bought in eBay. Dont know if that would work on US rx8
One thing I noticed recently on my RX8 was that whilst on a spirited drive on a particularly hot day I had my air-con on full blast. After a couple of mins I'd noticed the water temp gauge on the dashboard rise up from the standard 1/2 to 3/4 - I'm assuming this is relatively normal when running AC on full? Fortunately I noticed it within a couple of minutes and switched the AC Off - The gauge dropped down to 1/2 again within a minute or so P.S. I live in the UK so weather temps are usually relatively mild. P.S. 2 Followed your channel for years mate. Love the content, keep it up!
If it's the factory gauge... And u went past half..... That's very bad and very hot 🔥.. get a cheap obd2 Bluetooth reader for your phone and monitor it like that. Shows actual temp
Great videos , however I would really appreciate a video on the VFAD intake system of the Mazda rx8....there are hardly any videos on this area...would like to do a VFAD restoration on my series 2 Mazda rx8....would really like to see what the set up is like on these cars if possible

@@JapandaTuning damn I probably have some airflow issues then. On a hot 90F+ day idling at a stop with the AC on, it can get to 110C max. I had two of those, a 196hp and a 231 hp version and I loved them both so very much but seriously the first and most important mod you can do to them is an engine swap. me: "an aftermarket radiator?"
