I've owned my RX8 for 3 weeks now and I can honestly say it's an amazing car and the driving experience is like nothing else, big go kart is how I would describe it!

@@ao8271 it is by far the most enjoyable car I've ever driven, if you love driving this car is perfect. You need to maintain oil levels etc but it's so rewarding. Took it to the track last week and it's amazing, go kart for the streets 👍😎

Dont know much about rotaries but slowly doing research and trying to learn. Currently got a coyote 5.0 but looking at a Japanese sports car as a next purchase in a few years...

M773 idk man, the e46 has great mechanical grip as a stock car from the get go. And if I remember he’s put tires and coils on it, it made a great difference too.

You got it spot on! I love my Rx8 and wouldn't change it for the world. The smile it puts on my face every time I get in it, just can't be beaten!
I went from Belgium to the UK to have my rx8 rebuilt by Rotary Revs. Doing trackdays since then with it for two years now without a problem. Rotary engines can be reliable as long as you treat them well which is not the same as being gentle...
I find these cars underrated. Apart from all the rotary fun, they handle really well...

@@scarea2691 yes, I shift between 8500 and 9000. Depending on my timing skills. I try not to hit the Rev limiter. I don't shift before I hear the warning beep 😁.

You can make just as much power in a piston-designed engine, with far better reliability, fuel efficiency, emissions, maintenance costs, and more
Ummm.... yeah. I like rotary for it's quirkiness, but for easy power I'd take my trusty old Saab B234 any day.

Please do an Subaru Impreza next, with the boxer engine it continues the trend of unconventional engines, and it would be awesome to hear that rumble.
Boxer engines are actually one of the oldest engine types used.

Barry Bend most engine layouts were designed around the same time of engine innovation, it would be cool to work out a new engine layout

Rx8 still is my fav car, love rotary. Spent more time learning about these cars than I have in anything else over the years. Enjoying the videos.

If you were talking about the FD generation only; I’d agree, but that would discount the SA22C/FB33 and the FC3S.
The first-generation RX-7’s (SA22C/FB33) alone sold around 430,000 units globally, whereas the RX-8 only sold around 100,000 units - at least according to the sales statistics as I could find.
Loving this new series Mate. So many UA-cam channels focus on unobtainable cars, but your series like this and the MX5 are exciting to watch. The only issue is I want more! Keep smashing it lads!

One of the underrated things about owning a rotary is the smell! They smell like a 2 stroke dirt bike/snowmobile/atv. It smells amazing when you're ordering food at a drive-thru and you can just smell that oil/gas mixture. It's awesome/
If you like smelly cars, I recommend a Mark 5 Golf GTI with a 2.0T FSI and go catless. It's smelly enough that your friends will complain about it. My friends refuse to drive behind me.

I have always wanted an RX8. I love the high revs and the powerband you get with it. Although were I live its hard to find one with low KMs and in good condition for a decent price. I ended up getting a 06 SI and I love it but my love for the RX8 has not left me.
Makes me miss my old Rx8 and maybe consider getting another one. Great video, thanks!
I'll really never understand why people are so eager to shut down enthusiasts and their builds. i love rotary and the community behind it, they are cars with a huge amount of potential. I've known people who have owned them and loved them. And this isn't just the rotary community that receives all this hate. All the elitists always just try to take a big ol dump on passionate people with a love for diverse cars. they'll say things like "got a Mitsubishi? better be a lancer evo or its garbage" and "all honda owners are ricers". I have personally received a lot of hate about my Mitsubishi Eclipse 4th gen build. I absolutley love the 4th gen eclipse and its a car with a ton of potential just like an rx_8. people are quick to hate anything diverse. Hate is gonna drive people away from the car community and it sure isn't bringing new enthusiasts in.

I picked up my 09 S2 back in 2012. Still love that car as much as when I picked it up. It is everything I want in a car. Awesome handling, enough power to be fun, and it makes a great noise.

I recently came into ownership of a passed-down second gen RX-7 that sat to rot for over 30 years. I don't have a lot of hope that the rotary will be even close to salvageable.

One of my fav cars I owned! Such a good driving experience, I only sold mine as I couldn’t afford the depreciation, I paid like 11k for mine in 05 and had to sell it 9 months later for like 8k ha ha I ended up buying a golf r32 which was fantastic but really did love driving the rx8, the interior and sound system was epic, loved the way the screen flipped round, was so ahead of its time
