excellent vid, yet again! It's great seeing you fly along with this, every week seems like you have done so much! Thanks also for taking the time to explain little details such as the window blinds, it's really appreciated, and something I hadn't even considered for our build.

Thank you, really appreciated your thoughts, unfortunately works paused… trucks in the garage for service & MOT and although it’s passed, it needs a part so heavily delaying progress.
Cheers and looking forward to your own build 👍😁

The floor looks great. Nice point about the blinds .
Thanks for sharing more details of the build. 😊 chocolate 🍫 and tea.
30:59 ouch bummer. But good you decided to make it ok. That little difference would have been so annoying.

      Thank you, probably not.
We'd really enjoy that, but the truth is we've got a deadline to get to Spain for a family commitment in November, and it's going to take every last minute to get it complete enough to live in.
To say it'll be "right up to the wire" will be an understatement, but if we're ever in close proximity please give us a should, we're always up for meeting like-minded people 👍🏻☺

Great video guys, really enjoying the content, can’t wait to see you guys back on the road. We are thinking of getting starlink mini. Which one did you go for and have you used it before ?

    • @TheGapDecaders
      @TheGapDecaders  6 днів тому +1

Thank you, we've waited out for the Gen 3 (as we wanted to mount it flat.
We're intending to buy a mini too (for our bike trips), although as we work digitally on the road - the mini won’t give us enough data for the month (50GB), hence the reason we opted for the Gen 3.
We use the original (Gen 1) at the house, which is excellent. Hopefully, this new dish will be a simple case of leaving it to do its thing, flat on the roof
      🤞🙏😀

      The budget 😂😂😂
I'm editing a video we've just made explaining where we're at, and it's not pretty 🙈
The pump is from a highly regarded Italian brand called Marco, the small one I'm using in the video to circulate the water is a Marco 12v electronic gear pump UP3/E 12/24V

Hi Phil. Is your hydronic loop open (non pressurised)? I take it that when the towel rail is mounted in its final position, it will be lower than the header tank? You're only using the header tank as a branch for burping rather than a flow-through as part of the loop? Would the fin rad loop benefit having a tee up to a bleeder?

    • @TheGapDecaders
      @TheGapDecaders  6 днів тому +1

Good observations 😀, yes it's an open system and yes the header to release air in the system.
If you look closely, the pipework around the Alde fins isn’t complete, there will be two bleeds (one either side).
I still need the aluminium middle seat frame fabricated, so I've been holding off finishing the plumbing.
What I've found is that after a few days of moving the air works its way to the rad (as expected) and it's easily bled out.
      Cheers
      Phil👍🏻

      Hi,
Yes, there's lots of other valves and stainless reducers etc but on the whole it JG.
We had JG on our last truck (hab box ten yrs old) and never had an issue despite the wash board tracks and endless use, hence choosing it again for this build. 👍🏻

Hi the new build is not easy but you will get there
Can you answer a question for us
We are going to Portugal to look for a house to buy live there
But we don't want to come back in the UK in winter as we live in our motorhome full time
    8mts auto trail Delaware s
We can't make our mind up Morocco for 90 days but on the tube there definitely seems a bit of false saying it's nice there but seems false
Or Albania/ turkey for 90 days they look amazing specliy Albania bit of a shock there did not expect it to be that nice but Morocco is a lot closer to Portugal
We like to be ofgrid our van is set up for it
We want to be warm both of us are 68 years old but we both just get on with it
    Which would you recommend
If you don't want to say on here don't mind emailing you

Hi both, we love Morocco and are returning for our sixth trip in January.
However, you’ve got to appreciate it’s not Europe, it’s different in every way and sometimes there will be elements of life there that doesn’t sit easy, levels of sanitation, there’s a hand out culture, it can seem rough around the edges and depending where you are you can get pestered from people trying to push their wares.
However, it’s a great place to over winter, yes it can rain & even be cold (Particularly at night) but go and experience it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
There’s lots of places to stay, I’m not talking about campsites like in Europe, more of a safe place to park, there’s hundreds on P4N, if you want to play it safe meander down the coast but you’ll pay more and it’s very touristy.
We prefer inland Morocco, places like Tafroute and the gorges (Todra & Dades), Merzouga and Zagora.
The roads are excellent & pretty empty on the most part.
We love Turkey (friendliest people we’ve ever met) and southern Turkey is definitely an option, but avoid northern Turkey over winter, everything is closed & it snows a lot.
Although we loved Albania, we certainly wouldn’t over winter there, it’s incredibly cold and quite limiting.
Hope that helps, maybe watch our getting to Morocco video and a few of the others - if you do, just remember it was the first rain they’d had in 5 years 🌞👍🏻

@@TheGapDecaders thank you got your honesty you surprised me with Albania if it's cold not going lol
We are touring Portugal mainly looking for a house
given up on Spain got really expensive living there and visa
So it looks like 90 days in Portugal depending on the sun
Then to Morocco for 90 days
      Might even see you there
We went to Tunisia in 1981 now that was a eye opener
      Watched your Morocco adventure
But we can't go where you go 8mt MH plus we are both 68
      But we love it
like you love being in the middle of nowhere
But going to get some cameras this time just helps to know what's going on out did

Really enjoying your build. It’s fascinating for me as I am having a truck built, and even though they will look very different (mine is an Alcove on new 7T Iveco 4x4 chassis) the internal size, layout and specs are remarkably similar. I’ve gone with Outbound throughout, Eberspacher, etc etc. Obviously you will have extra off road capability, but I made that compromise to stay under 7.5T. Mine was designed from a theoretical plan and I’ve found your build reassuring that we’re one the right track, given all of your first hand experience. Finally, I don’t think I will be surprised at your build costs in the next video! Thank you for all your efforts documenting your build.

@@highwayman1769 Thanks for taking the time to comment,
Good choice of vehicle, I'm a big fan of the Iveco but the cost of anything 4x4 is insane.
We love that layout and still feel it was/is the right choice for us.
Yeah the budget 🙈, I'm sure you too are feeling the pain.
