    We are so enjoying watching your next home come together. I am envious of how you tackle all those different challenges that come your way as the build progresses. Don’t forget to give yourselves a treat day out now and then will raise a glass of wine 🍷or two to you both on Fridays and Saturdays . 👍Peter and Jane

      @@TheGapDecaders Hi. We are still waiting to hear from Iveco regarding 2024 pricing. Although we don’t want to start anything for quite some time yet. We would prefer to have it sorted before we head to either the States or Australia/NZ 🤞🏻

    Great progress Phil. Lowering the roof's been a BIG job, and that air cleaner bracket's expensive!

    Hi Phil, a really messy job but you make it look so straightforward. I guess there was a lot of planning and measuring before you started to cut the roof off. Looking great.
    A real result with the sale of the aircon unit - you must have been really happy with that.
    I had visions of RAL 9005 being an interesting colour only to discover it is jet black!

    • @TheGapDecaders
      @TheGapDecaders  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi Peter, I'm sat here smiling cos yes, there was a lot of thought & prep throughout before dropping the roof.
      We were pretty delighted with the sale of the fridge unit, although it was actually worth double that, but with such a swift offer, it was hard not to accept.
      The black is only for the bottom area, basically below the mudguards, we were going to opt for a funky colour, but sadly we're old and boring.
      Cheers P&I 🍷☺

    Hi Phil , Well the work won't do itself, and you guys must progress , There's an element of rush around this process and it cannot be ignored because of all of the connecting bits and pieces , But its not as easy as just throwing it up in the air and hoping it all lands in the Perfect place the 5 P,s come into play here
    we are all encouraged by the commitment level ,and the do it once do it right attitude cheers Stevie B

    Really impressed with how much of it all you each cover yourselves.
    It would be interesting to see what your hours invested add up to in saved cost. Even if calculated at minimum wage I expect you have saved £££££££
    But I know from our conversations that it is a labour of love
    🍦🍷 Bravo

      Hi Eddy, thank you.
      Wow, that would be interesting, I reckon it'll be in the region of 2500 man hours minimum, by the time we've finished this year and that doesn’t include evening/weekend research and sourcing.
      I guess that's ultimately where you save on these projects.
      Cheers P&I 🙏😀

    Great work trimming the box to size, extra bonus to see your Frosty the Snowman look!
    Do you think the bed articulation at the front will reduce once the weight of the box is added to the subframe?

    • @TheGapDecaders
      @TheGapDecaders  4 місяці тому

      Thank you, the collective weight and box rigidity will unquestionably made everything more stable however, I think the level of articulation will remain if placed under the right undulation... further testing required 🙏😀

    • @TheGapDecaders
      @TheGapDecaders  5 місяців тому

      Thank you, Not too bad, we'll most certainly be over budget by 10% as it stands at the moment.
      The fridge sale has certainly gone some way to off-set the unforeseen's.
      Although we've purchased most of the big stuff already, it's difficult to say what our end total will be. 🙏😀 P&I

    Phil, why oh Why did you LOWER the roof?

    • @TheGapDecaders
      @TheGapDecaders  5 місяців тому +1

      Because sitting just over 4m high once the solars on, would be a major problem in Europe.
      Having traveled with a rig at 3.92m high for years, across Europe to Asia, has taught us that lower (than 4m) is better, we still have 2m inside with a full size door, which is loads. 👍🏻😀
