0:44 - For those who don't follow the World Championship - Sweden is coming off a MUCH needed bronze medal from the 2024 tournament - their first top 4 appearance since 2018, when they won their second of a back to back gold. Between then and now... 2019 - QF loss to FIN, in OT 2020 - no tournament 2021 - missed QFs (yes, really) 2022 - QF loss to CAN, in OT 2023 - QF loss to LAT
For E. Lindholm I think his 2-way playmaking game is what ends up setting him apart. He’s the type of player that if you pair him up with the right guys his role just amplifies especially when with similar minded players! I think when compared to Leo it makes sense based on the 2-way game although I do agree with you that Leo would be the better offensive player. When going up against teams like Canada and the USA you’ll need players to play the full 200 foot game otherwise it’ll end in blowouts even with the stacked up Swede defensive core. Thanks for the comment!
@ interesting about E.Lindholm, I haven’t really thought of him as a two-way forward, but you’re probably right. Sadly I don’t think Backlund will be on the roster, it’s been a while since he played for the national team (but I would definately pick him)
It’s been a much more recent development this past year with Lindholm’s move to the Bruins. Feels in many ways like he’s trying to feel the void of Bergeron from years past. I do agree that Backlund isn’t necessarily a favourite although personally I think he should be there as well!
Yep! I think in the end it'll come down to Carlsson vs Eklund/Zetterlund for that last spot and in my eyes Eklund & Zetterlund have looked better through their campaigns thus far!
Sure is! I'm very curious to see how much change there'll be from the announced roster to the opening night roster, also interested to see how injuries play a factor in this decision process or if it'll be minimal

I like that you picked Backlund, hope you’re right.
Unsure about E. Lindholm, only 3 goals this season so far, I think Leo Carlsson can take his place

@@onthefly1515 I just read that E. Lindholm was a selke finalist in 2022, so you’re right about his two-way game

8:08 - this is what I think as well... this deadline is EARLY.
