Nice driving. Really got me in the mood to drive some Indycars myself, but I don't have iRacing. Would've liked to see those kittens wreck each other, specially after one of them seriously meowed in the voice chat.
Your channel was on my suggested list which I never really pay attention to. Yet today decided to click on yours cause I've noticed the account pic a few times. Glad I did, really enjoying your videos. Was suppose to be studying yet I've just watched over 3hrs of racing lol. Great stuff mate.
You think cats are bad, I once saw a paint scheme with a bunch of anime girls on them in a Street Stock race. I think one guy got so distracted he caused a wreck behind us.
Several people run Goodsmile Racing liveries on the road side, which is probably where the guy got the idea. Not a fan of anime at all, but those paints look cool if done properly and not seen all over the place - like everything.
Hey man I have watched a couple of your videos and after watching this one I am in, I will subscribe. You keep it real and fun, yet are not afraid to speak your mind. Keep them coming and let me know if you ever need a test dummy!! Or a race partner, whatever!
Good job "Box". Driver in the #8 car WAS driving like a D***. He's not only taking an unnecessary chance of wrecking himself,'or someone else, but scrubbing off speed on exit....especially coming off turn 2. Smoother is always faster.....PERIOD
When I race I can't talk like that. I slow down a tenth. Even in real life my lap times become inconsistent. Cool to see you do it! And seems like you ran out of tire quite easily!
That's how Mr. Miller drives. I think he's been banned from iRacing for driving like that. I've been bump drafted (yes, bump drafted, in an IndyCar) on high speed ovals by him.
Ive raced with Chris C Miller alot round Milwaukee Mile last week and from watching this, im very shocked. But good race from you mate and i am guessing you do the races like in the evening time in the states. Shame i cant race with you as its like early morning here in the UK
last time i was at iowa i could not start 1st gear way to much wheel spin was faster in 2nd i wounder how much the fixed has changed since then. Good video thanks for posting
So Empty Box, answer me this. Seeing this as a recommended video, i notice that this track, and even your phoenix video with the IR03/07, when you upshift, your revs kinda "bounce" or stutter before the car settles in the gear, but racing with the car every now and then in the dallara dash before a big series race, the revs dont bounce, particularly on phoenix. Was there a build that removed that, or is it just something that used to happen, but doesn't, seeing how the car also sounds slightly different from this video to now, unless that is just your recording quality.
+! ObamaTookMyCat ! I'm pretty sure the car got some slightly updated sounds in the transmission and tires department, at least everything else has. Not sure, they could have changed the transmission slightly, or it could be a setup thing. It sounds like car doesn't cut the throttle on upshifts here almost, so the revs spike which is why it bounces. Never noticed it before, never paid much attention, but I see what you are talking about.
As to the dude making the move.....watching him race many times....he was a complete pain in the ass.Caused headaches for many, but I bet you know that lol. I think he's cleaned up his act since.
Its actulally a Racing simulator and if you get good enough you can compete for cash prizes for being the world champion. up to 10000$ U.S. and some races in the stock car oval racing is sponsored by NASCAR.
your speedometer only say like 103 mph at the most from what i saw. i actually got to do ten or so laps there at newton. it was insane so kool man, at the end of riding with the champion of the season i am sure i could beat him! i wanted to build a race car after that but it is way to much green lol. what wheel do you use with this game?
Nope, but I don't have a TIR either. I'd be much better investing in a trip setup than a TIR, considering the cost difference wouldn't be too much and TIR is according to most faster people slow because it's unnatural to turn your head one way, look the other while in a "moving" car that isn't actually "moving". I've driven on a couple triple setups, and it's glorious.
Are you from Iowa? I'm from Hamburg Iowa and would love to go see the Indy racing but it's like on the other side of the state and I actually live in Lincoln NE at the moment.

***** Not sure what you mean by "slingshot out to the wall". The only thing I can think of fitting that description is if you are really scrubbing the tires in the corners and understeering but not bad enough to make you lift? Besides that, Depends on which Indycar you are talking about (given this is the old car in the vid) and what track though. Last I drove with the old car on an oval it's pretty much keep the thing as low on the track as possible - hug the line in the corners like you said. That car has so much downforce it's way overgripped so you can run ultra low pretty easy. With the DW12 though I find I take more of an arc through most corners, but I also have a tendency to run a higher line than most people do to begin with anymore so take that with a pinch of salt I guess. Running lower if you are still doing the same speed is great (qualifying or the old car) but if you need to start lifting to hold that low line then opening up your entry and taking more of a late apex approach would be more useful.
Yea, getting used to the visual and audio cues is huge. I think it's really why most of us prefer one sim over another even if we do have and enjoy fifteen of them. I struggle going back to rFactor, despite being told by rFactor guys iRacing is iceRacing. Meanwhile, rF2 feels like legitimate ice racing and saving cars is 10x easier in iRacing, but I'm told I know nothing. Its strange. Also, the competition pool is deeper - more drivers.
I know this is an old one, but I'm with you on the "kitties don't belong on a race track" thing ... I hate it when people have daft colour schemes like fully painted anime cars... I prefer to see loads of sponsors and nice, well-thought-out, even copied colour schemes. It just ruins the realistic feel of it.
Actually by sporting codes you have the right to block the other driver behind you once. That means going outside of your line to protect the position, but only once during the initial moment. E.g. if someone tries to go on the inside you have the right to go inside before he is there and you should not go back to your race line(which is outside) if there is no space for another car in terms of width. So protect the inside or the outside and only return to racing line if there is still space for the other car to pass on the other side. Once you protect the inside you don't have the right to go completely outside again, then inside then outside. So just once in that moment, if the other driver comes with momentum to go other side even after you have defended your either side, then you don't have the right to move and should let him pass.
Source: www.formula1.com/inside_f1/rules_and_regulations/sporting_regulations/8683/ Just do ctrl+f and search for "defend". It will be highlighted and that's the part that says it.
Formula 1's sporting code has zero to do with iRacing though. iRacing's sporting code reads : "7.1.1.1. Blocking - The leading driver is allowed to run a defensive line. Blocking is a deviation by a driver from defending position based on the action of the pursuing driver is considered blocking." And in Indycar on ovals it was that way IRL for a long while if not still. You don't get "one move" like in F1. Imagine oval racing in an Indycar if everyone got "one move" - there would be no survivors when racing wheel to wheel at over 220 MPH. It'd be lunacy. All defensive moves must be proactive, not reactionary. That is still more than enough to keep people behind if you do it correctly!
Even in F1 you should do this move early enough not to cause an accident. I'm not saying one should drive recklessly. Just that this guy is wrong, you can defend your position without having to be a prick. Either way the one who made this video is a good driver +1 to him. And +1 to you.
Which is why unlike F1 they race on ovals, road courses and proper street courses, in cars with far less downforce than F1 cars.... Yup, it's so easy. There are probably more passes in one indycar street race than the last 10 Monaco GPs combined.
+Art Mcconeskey yes you can block but the rules in every type and level of racing says you cannot make a reactionary move to impede somebody's run. You must if you are blocking stay in your line. Weaving back and forth to change lines like that is a one way ticket to being suspended or possibly banned.
glad that guy got what he deserved. ridiculous that someone can't hold their line and race clean. great race, even though I would consider myself more of a NASCAR fan, I am learning a lot from your Indycar videos
Just took the plunge and signed up for Iracing. Very surprised at the magnitude of difference to GTR2. Rather de-motivating to go from league championship contender to....sucking. Hard. Ah well. Guess it's a matter of getting friendly with the different physics engine.
wouldnt running the middle/higher than the bottom grove be faster since you lose alot less momentum. i know in really oval atleast it works, or atleast at whelen race track in arizona.
dhog3 3 In theory it would work just like the real world, in practice it doesn't work that way because in these cars you don't lose enough momentum in the corners to account for the longer distance and tire wear isn't enough of an issue.
Yup, I never charge, strictly donations. But I'm out of it and not really looking to do paints right now, just don't have enough time or creativity left in the tank right now.
5:15 this is one of those moments were i have to question reality, and wonder if im the one who doesnt "get it" because you never correct yourself.. so you must either think that pink car was on your left, or im somehow an idiot missing something obvious. i get this ALOT, because the average person is INSANE.
There's a lot of moments like that on this channel, turns out when you are concentrating on one thing you often say something that makes precisely zero sense lol
Once the pace car is off the track in iRacing, you are free to fire. IRL, most series have a designated zone on the track where the leader takes control of the field, determined in the drivers meeting or track markings.
chidogg93 They would probably get protested. I don't think that could be automated like iRacing's system requires, though I'd think if you did it super obviously you would be put in the penalty box.
Kitty Kat Racing lol My Street Stock adventures are giving me a new appreciation for short track oval racing, since we're at the USA speedway this week, because it's a lot of fun to be in the middle of a group of drivers who have their brains engaged and race with respect. Sadly, that rarely happens at the Rookie level; check out my latest upload to see what some of the crashed noobs love to do; just hold down the accelerator and aim for the racing line, without a care for how many they take out
I had horrible luck during this week. lost almost 300 iRating with some jackass drivers. First race a guy decided the not hold his line going into turn 1, wrecked the leader and me. I was somehow blamed even though I pulled him down the whole front straight. The 2nd race I ended up getting taken out by someone who got loose out of 4 and bounced off the outside. The 3rd race same issue, but iRacing ended up crashing right when the wreck happened.
isnt there a report system in iracing, i just started... stinck really bad so keeping to the tracks by my self till i learn them pretty well. I know our score is calculated on our cards but that style of driving is way out of line. Also i hate that they would go to the bottom just to push you up top and destroy your passing but good job finishing.
I blame Talladega Nights for idiots driving like this... they were praising the frenchman like he was some masterful driver while he was breaking the sporting code
You do NOT need a steering wheel. I just started iRacing and I currently use a RC Flight Simulator controller. I just couldn't justify the $300 for a proper steering wheel until I knew I would actually race on a regular basis.
i used a Xbox controller until i got my G27 set... was using it for 3 days and it was an ok experience, but the turning isn't very precise so i always found myself causing wrecks when 3 wide
Nice driving. Really got me in the mood to drive some Indycars myself, but I don't have iRacing.

In order from top to bottom. Gear, RPM, and Lap Time
those kitties tricked you.
fun race .
Wooooooo was hard to win this race.
Those cars look a lot more F1 rather than that of Indy Cars
Sorry man... no they really don't look like F1 cars... at all!!!
Alexandre Fernandes At first I thought they were F1 cars
AESCULAPTORmark3
No, just no.
That's cos they're both open-wheel cars (*slow claps*)
Inthepastxx Err, yeah, just yeah.
Yay driving in circles without using brakes or shifting! Must be very challenging little box😂
Do you suggest iRacing?
i lasted 3 mins watching this and just had to stop it!
isnt there a report system in iracing, i just started... stinck really bad so keeping to the tracks by my self till i learn them pretty well.
Is this game even worth getting into if you do not have a steering wheel?
no.
A steering wheel is REQUIRED to play this game. It will not let you play with a keyboard.
isbragg It's not required. Don't give advice if you don't have your facts straight.
