- No really, this is ridiculous. Make a track layout specifically so you can't cut the dog leg, forgets to make a layout where you cant chop Turn 3.... WHOOPS!

How did that Chris guy even give you an argument? Typical iRacing, people never think it's their fault. Even though you were running the correct line, he still thinks he deserves the entire track, even if he was "cheating". Awesome finish though, that takes skill to slide it in like that.

The worst part about that "18 mile wide" turn is that people are actually swinging out into what would be the normal line to take it. I could see how that would be irritating.

So, yeah this is the funniest commentary (especially the carnage report) and you did some really good driving.

I saw that final crash coming, as I am sure you did too when he dove the corner. When I saw him do that, time slowed down and I was just waiting for him to T-Bone you... and he did. But SERIOUSLY!? A pinch? Were you supposed to drive sideways on the catch fence? Because we all know with that line the guy would have tracked out all the way to the wall... so where exactly should you be placing your car to "not pinch" that move. LOL! Oh CCM... never fails to deliver.

I hate people like this Chris et al. If you´re driving a vastly different line to most other drivers, *and you know a guy is outside* (both from last having visual there and the warning "car outside"), you don´t simply cross the other guy´s line without looking!!!
Either get a TrackIR or learn to work that coolie hat on the steering wheel.
Like honestly, if you KNOW there is likely a guy there, how can you just take the massive chance of running into him - and all to save a couple of metres. It´s beyond me.

The ridiculousness "knows no bounds", I see what you did there! I would skip this week if I didn't have to race for the credits, because I missed MIlwaukee and Pocono, and was wrecked out of Motegi (twice), and Iowa, both in ways that made me feel like "screw this"
I really can't be the only one who absolutely hates the new Phoenix, every time I see it all I can think about is how great it used to be. Are flat/low banked ovals too much to ask for?
Yes it is too much to ask for, because big fat stock cars don't go around flat ovals the best, so everyone jacked the banking up to pander to where the money is now. To think Homestead was built for open wheel cars..... and now it's been the NASCAR finale for how many years? And totally reconfigured? Sad puppy face.
As someone who recently picked up Oval side and has near zero levels of knowledge about the different Oval tracks and their individual pedigrees in general, I must say one of my favorite ovals to drive has been Milwaukee. The flatness of it kinda makes it more suitable for more unpredictable and hairy racing IMO. The extremely banked ones pretty much play out in the same way "follow the guy in front till he screws up" and not much else, while these low banked ones give chances for varied lines and more action in general. Don't know how they fare in real life though, haven't watched any oval races in my life. :D
Wait, is that CCM, Miller etc. person the same guy who kept cutting you off in a a Kentucky oval race on the old indycars? It's the same scheme from that vid!
Iowa, yes. Maybe Kentucky as well but I don't think I have posted a race in the old car from there. I dunno, I've raced with him a lot so it's hard to say.

Hey Empty Box, just a little tip that saves me from having to edit out the cautions and stuff. I just stop the recording, then right before it goes back green, I start recording again. And when I "finalize" the video, I just upload the segments together into one video on my video program. I'm sure you probably already know about this, but I figured I'd tell ya just invade you didn't know.
TheMackinater Yea, I know that but I've had moments where when you start a recording you get a bit of lag as it starts saving the initial bit of the video, so I avoid turning it on and off on track just in case. Better safe than sorry.
I’ve raced in an Indycar league with the guy in the blue car from the first caution for 3 years now and that does not surprise me in the least.
I've always thought this version of Phoenix was 20x better than the no do leg version
When that last wreck happened with you I can only imagine what everyone else was thinking like, "What the hell, how is this car driving?" Haha
Decided between running this race or trucks at vegas. Chose trucks. Top 10 finishers had 0 incidents. Good choice.
As someone new to Oval racing, I say I hate this damn track because the line confuses my road racing brain and I keep taking one line while the pack takes another... I tried following a dude and crashed into the pit entry wall head on at full speed. It was a glorious sight albeit intensely embarrassing, thought it would be better if i landed on the guy up front but sadly that wasn't the case :(... I think I should practice more and stop thinking "Pff, turn left, how hard can it be".
That camber after the final wreck though. Damn and I thought I'd seen worse. That just tops the list

Hey Empty, I've just started watching your videos and I was hoping to get into Iracing... They show 3 wheels that work with Iracing. I'm not trying to spend much money on a new wheel/pedals. I have an old Microsoft Force Sidewinder wheel from the early 2000s. I was wondering if it'd work with Iracing? Thanks please reply.
Yea, pretty sure it will work, though that wheel is quite old and the technology has improved by a good bit, but it will work and at least let you see if you enjoy it. Providing you can get it to work in general, there is no reason it shouldn't work with iRacing.

When you're on the roll bar camera angle how d'you rotate the camera like that? I can't seem to do it myself.
Ctrl Z to get the camera options. Then its one of the 6 commands at the top. You have XYZ, and I think pitch roll and one other. I think it would be either pitch or roll, but I'm not entirely sure.

Usually pitch is up/down angle, roll is "leaning" angle, and yaw is left/right angle.
So I guess it's more likely yaw.

How do people get their licenses up high enough to run in that series and still drive like that?
Because the license system isn't as scary as it should be.
I'm looking at getting into sim racing and have been looking a two wheels for an entry level racer. The t500rs, and the logitech g27, and I was wondering which was the better wheel between the two. Anther question that I have for the t500 is the paddle shifters that come with it. Are they removable for when you have a add on wheel that comes with paddle shifters. So you don't have those shifters in the way.
Andrew White If you are new to sim racing, I'd suggest the G27 or the Thrustmaster TX or T300.
IMO, I think the T500 is a bit too expensive for something you may or may not really enjoy as well as the fact you won't know what you are or are not missing with a better wheel. As in honestly, I wouldn't even consider it for an entry level wheel.
Empty Box This is something that I have wanted to do, but wasn't sure what wheel I should go with. And those were the two that I had in mind for when I would get into gtr2 sometime this year. Another question that I had is how can you get gtr2 now that simbin has been down since the beginning of the year.

GTR2 is back up on steam, just make sure you use the NoCD patch widely distributed in the community - it'll give you your Porsche and Ferraris back.
