    Great video, very well explained and shot. I'm usually too scared to do anything to cars myself, however I now feel confident enough to check my brake wear sensors. Thank you. You have a Subscriber :)

    Your video on the brake wear sensor on the MB C300 is very well done - great quality of the video (angles, lighting, technical aspects). Are you going to do a video on replacing the rear pads and rotors on the C300? I've been looking for a good one - but they are all lacking (poor videography). It would be great to see your take. If not, can you recommend a great video for this task.

    Hahaha I definitely need a check-up from the neck up kiddo! Hahaha
    Even so… I appreciate your generosity in sharing you great information!
    I have a 03 E320 😊yes it’s older but like Janis Joplin said we are like fine wine we get sweeter with age😁HOWEVER… the parasitic drains do become a bit harder to pinpoint! 😂
    Anyways … thank you again for the content.
    I changed my own brake pads a Few weeks ago n possibly didn’t put the sensor back on properly 🤷‍♀️and so I am wondering if that could be causing battery to be dead on the second night each time it’s fully charged (2week old battery n I overhauled the alternator n had it checked as well n it’s good ) … i by chance you come across this comment and have any ideas that might help this gramma would sure appreciate it.🙏🥰thx God Bless

      Yeah parasitic drains are ridiculous and hard to find. Since your battery is going dead fast, it must be something larger!

      As far as I know, the check brake pad light works a lot like the “light bulb out” indicator. The only way to get it to go away is change the sensor that has worn through. This will update the computer at next start up

    Nice video but how do I know if the problem is on the rear wear or front wear

    • @TheDurbinCompound
      @TheDurbinCompound  5 років тому +1

      You don’t! You have to figure out which sensor is showing the open reading! More than likely it’s the back! Start there.

    Mercedes benz "STEALERSHIP"..no truer words were spoken.

    • @TheDurbinCompound
      @TheDurbinCompound  4 роки тому +1

      No doubt. They do try to sell their brand as “an experience like no one else”. It couldn’t be further from the truth. Although i love the car and have had an awesome experience with it. The stealership is another thing. Just utter horrible service and absolutely not quality assurance. Receiving my car back disassembled and having to put it back together is unsat and not safe!

    My 08 c300 4matic sport only has 1 wear sensor on the front driver wheel. I checked all other wheels and there isn't a wire anywere,kinda weird. No chimes or indication on display saying there is an issue.

  • @apexiry

    My C300 still has the brake pad wear indicator light even when I replaced the pads and the new sensors that came with the pads. Any idea what might trip the sensor? Will removing the entire sensor trip the light (meaning not put it on)?

    • @TheDurbinCompound
      @TheDurbinCompound  6 років тому

      Removing the sensor WILL trip the light. My first guess would be that you have a wire worn through somewhere right there by the tire and everything that moves. Remember they have sensors on the front and back. Did you check both?

    • @apexiry
      @apexiry 6 років тому

      Thanks for the info! I'll check both this weekend again.

      Ry_Raian on a Mercedes. After the sensor has been replaced, you have to have the code erased using a computer plugged into the OBD.
