You're right it was an early version. The version you saw was pulled from television due to complaints. It was 30 seconds long and had more intimidating music. There are people trying to find a copy of the original version because it's lost.

I haven’t seen the full version, but from what I’ve heard, this is my best guess: The same man is farther away, but he is becoming even more angrier, and the music is extended, and when he is the angriest and reddest, he’s even more angry and his top and bottom teeth are actually apart. Then he explodes, and the sound of the explosion is louder and is a few seconds longer. The Jewish Chautauqua Society logo is also a few seconds longer. The lyrics are different, too. However, restoring old film reel things takes time, but I wouldn’t know how much time or the process. Also, if it’s a 16mm tape, wouldn’t it be silent? And another version that has the same video as the 30 second version, but has different music and scarier narration along with a dark voice repeating the words “hate hate hate.” And another 10 second version that goes like, “when you don’t forgive, who do you hurt the most? You hurt you!” But sadly, a lot of people don’t know about those other versions and they probably won’t get found if no one knows about it.

I felt the same way StormsongK. My siblings used to tease me about this commercial. I even went to therapy last year when I came across it and I finally got over it. It did however make my lack of respect for my siblings stronger and yes I do not have a relationship with them anymore!

Ok, so head's up that this is only what I've found out about it and my speculation. It's essentially an 'anti-hate' psa, thought there are other sources (mainly the wiki article on this topic, such as the Psa Wiki) that say it's an 'anti-racism' psa. How I view the psa is mainly that it's an 'anti-hate' psa because hate doesn't just extend to racism or anti semitism, but hate in general. People tearing each other down and discriminating against each other.

Ok, so head's up that this is only what I've found out about it and my speculation.
It's essentially an 'anti-hate' psa, thought there are other sources (mainly the wiki article on this topic, such as the Psa Wiki) that say it's an 'anti-racism' psa.
How I view the psa is mainly that it's an 'anti-hate' psa because hate doesn't just extend to racism or anti semitism, but hate in general. People tearing each other down and discriminating against each other.
