This channel made me start doing a little bit of strength training, and for the first time in my 40 years of life it seems I might manage to continue with it. Usually I quit quite soon, because it's simply too painful. Wall pushups (and "wall pullups" from another video, the first one I saw) was an eye-opener for me. I can do about 10 normal pushups, but I _hate_ it and feel broken afterwards. Which means I stop after a couple of days. Knee-pushups don't work for me because of some knee-issues, but using walls/chairs/kitchen counter... that I can do! :-) Thanks!
stop complaining and hating... if you continue you never will reach any goal. There are always 1000s of reasons not to do it. Learn discipline. stop pseudo rewarding in form of eating and drinking
I started working out for 1 month and was really sad when there was no progress, I started stopping to workout everyday and just worked out like 2 times a week mostly and after like 3 months I decided to do pushups, I managed to do 18 with perfect form and was really amazed that it actually worked, I started again working out everyday because this change motivated me, I wasnt able to do one pushup and I can do 20 now and 8 diamond pushups! My diet is not perfect because of money problems but im 18 and i'll look for a job and hopefully in a year I can hopefully do 1 arm pushups!

When I was 20 and had no training for years, I just started doing them. Started with 10 or maybe 12. Short break, another few and so on. 3-4 sets. Next day the same. And so on. After 2 weeks I was already able to do 70-80 in one set. Being 41 now, I recently tried to so some, it felt I was doing a marathon and barely could make 8 :( Not to mention that it is so freaking hot here in the Philippines and I hate to sweat so strong. We're all different and so the approaches that will work may be different as well in speed, effectiveness etc. Yours is one of the few channels where I have notifications turned on because I really enjoy every single video you do and really look forward to what may be coming up next. Thanks, my friend, for your impact in improving the world.
This guy and daddy noel are two of the very few genuine fitness influencers.
Chris Heria too
just checked out two of noel’s vids, already love his content
Such an insightful video!! I like that there’s no bg music, it’s calming and I find that I focus better! I also like how this isn’t the typical ‘how to do push-ups’ tutorial, it’s a real lesson with insightful words 👏🏼 thank you!!
I'm glad you like it!
I think there is background music. I just make it quiet.

Are you a fitness whisperer? You took your question and broke it down and even gave faith to others who want to take it slow but steady. Mad respect to your humble self and thank you for your support.
you are the best fitness trainer i watched.
Just wanna say that when I first started I could barely do 5 , now I can push out 15-20. Correcting your form is the biggest part. It's only been 3/4 weeks for me. Will update this as it goes.
One month later and I've been able to push out 26-30 in solid form. Shit works yall.
How about now
Even though I can do relatively good push ups (3 reps of 20-15) I still like listening to this guy, and I also good to listen in order to improve what you are already doing
You inspire me man, I've changed so much of my body just by using calisthenics. And everytime I feel like I've hit a wall you come out with just what I need. Thank you.
One of the most genuinely wholesome and helpful dudes on UA-cam.
I am so grateful for your guidance and encouragement. I am an elder women and am up to 11 slow, to the ground, solid push-ups. I feel so healthy.
I found the same thing with running from a heavy weight, I came down from 300lbs twice in my life and this second time I started running at 250lbs (300lbs to 250lbs dieting and walks) starting with a 3 mile run in an hour and after a week I was able to do the same run in 45 minutes and now after about a year, Im at 10.55 miles in 1hr 41min being my fastest time. The muscles I gained from being so heavy made it easier the more consistent I stayed.

:-) Thanks!
ua-cam.com/video/I7Z1S9iQjTU/v-deo.html ´´
stop complaining and hating... if you continue you never will reach any goal.
My diet is not perfect because of money problems but im 18 and i'll look for a job and hopefully in a year I can hopefully do 1 arm pushups!
diet wise i just eat frozen fruit/veggies, canned tuna/chickpeas, chicken, lentils, oatmeal, regular cow milk, and whey protein powder.
It's amazing how you included that some of us watching this is for taking an examination for military or something, you are something else! Hope I get my push up counts more for my examination. Good luck for me and for everybody else!!!
A gentleman without suit but with the purest soul. You are awesome
Almost 2 million....I can remember seeing a 60sec clip of one of your first videos on 9gag. I instantly subscribed, you had less than 10k subs, back than. Btw I tried to do some fitness at home and it worked out. Im also going to the gym for the first tine on monday, Im kinda scared.....
I've heard that nervous and excited feel the same, so maybe ask yourself if you're just pumped to be working on improving yourself!
Don't be nervous, don't focus on anyone else. Don't focus on how much to lift or reps. Focus on proper technique, focus on how your body responds. Focus on having fun while exercising and focus on one day at a time.
Wow thanks for sticking with me all this time! What video was it on 9gag?
You've got this! Most people at the gym are just focused on getting a good workout. Stick to yourself and respect everyone's space and it'll most likely be a great experience!
I knew about hampton through 9gag too

2mil subs already? You seem to have attracted a high quality and massive following. Please get the younger generations whipped in shape, from what I see they are looking quite fragile. Good you are mixing in the philosophical side too, it gives your channel soul.
I do 2-4 sets of max reps every single day. I’ve increased from 40-62 in less than two weeks. I can do 41 diamond push-ups, and I’m literally about to test my max in 30 seconds. This has helped, make sure to focus on form people, numbers honestly don’t matter.
Edit: 48 in a row, I have video proof but it has a bad angle so I’ll have yo do it again.

Remember that a pushup is equivalent to bench pressing a good portion of your weight,so bench pressing heavier weights helps you do more pushups

Its actually much closer to 60% of your bodyweight since your feet take a good amount of your weight!

@@John.McIntyre I weigh 88kg and when I push up on a set of scales it reads 60 in the raised position and 68 in the lowered. So that gives a push up equal to bench pressing 75% of your body weight.

Could barely do 7 pushups at the start of February. Now I'm hitting at least 30 in one single rep. I've had to stop though, due to nerve damage in my left wrist but will continue the grind when I start wearing those sleeves that help with carpel tunnel syndrome 👍

When I was 20 and had no training for years, I just started doing them. Started with 10 or maybe 12. Short break, another few and so on. 3-4 sets. Next day the same. And so on. After 2 weeks I was already able to do 70-80 in one set.
Being 41 now, I recently tried to so some, it felt I was doing a marathon and barely could make 8 :(
Not to mention that it is so freaking hot here in the Philippines and I hate to sweat so strong.
