It was a pleasure meeting you Shane. Thanks for the beer and above all thanks for the music!!! The world has lost not only a very talented singer and poet but a wonderful, sensitive and very humble human being too. Definitelty one of a kind! . Rest easy Shane! ❤😢
Ja, der Mann konnte wirklich echte Geschichten in seinem ganz eigenen freestyle texten und singen und hatte irgendwie den Bogen raus, trotz seiner Trinkkultur die time zu halten. Einfach genial.
THE kind of music that POGUES do remember that our ancesters in Iberia have had a great influence, in our tradicional music, from Celta music. Thanks Shane to REMEMBER us of this fact. RIP.
I was Born in 2004 so the pogues were before my time but got all their vinyls and watch their live concerts on UA-cam absolutely love it much love from England x
You will not belive, I read first time about Pogues in Estonian Republic of Ussr. From journal Pioneer" . Pogues means arses or asses in their language :))) we loved that.
The bit when Shane garbles the lyrics at 6:03 is so funny. And the little grin he does once he’s back on track. I’m so grateful to have lived in the same universe as him.
Ärgere mich fast bis heute, dass ich in dem Jahr nicht auf ein Pougeskonzert gegangen bin, weil ich eine Klausur am nächsten Tag hatte😢 wie vernünftig man mit Anfang 30 sein kann.....
Back here in Boston…the Irish community had a leg up getting tickets… fair play to them…Shane was exceptional poet and songwriter for the Republic of Ireland… RIP Shane MacGowan
Shane was Irish, meaning he lives in the breath of every singer, the hands of every musician, and the feet of every dancer. It's the legacy of the Irishman.
@@SnowMonkeyCantSingMusic is not mans attainment. Shane lives on not because he's Irish or even what he did but how. What he did being him correlating with a vast amount of people through music. I dont know why it's so hard for yall to just say this.
The flute player held the whole band up. On a side note, i'm positive we have all experienced a hangover. How did Shane deal with a daily, life shattering, soul crushing, hangover? How is it even possible to drink as heavily as he did?
@@phyllismurphy8737 I've read interviews with Shane where he said they all viewed her as the "kid sister" of the band as she was at least 10 years younger than the blokes, so I don't think so. I think at the time of this concert she was already married to Elvis Costello.

Im new to the Pogues, 4give my ignorance. When Shane sings he sounded so familiar. Then I realized why it sounded familiar. Anybody else THINK TIM ARMSTRONG OF RANCID & SHANE SOUND IDENTICAL? I WONDER IF THATS REALLY TIMS VOICE OR DOES HE IMPERSONATE SHANE ON PURPOSE
They dont sound alike but I see why you think that because they both sing like they just woke up which was a very common thing to do especially in the punk scene since they all were drinking and doing drugs. Shane and tim dont sound alike but you can say they have the same singing techniques..alcohol and drugs.
Been a huge fan of the pogues since the 80s. Much love from America! Rest in peace Shane!
Ahhhh... My people... Beautiful... Just beautiful.

Thank you for this. Shane you will never be forgotten!
The sweet taste of rebellion and freedom from oppression love wins through everytime ❤
Let's just hope they can weather the storm of open immigration and still maintain their ethnic identity and European integrity.

Thanks for this video. The Pogues were brilliant !
Ronnie's voice was heavenly! Love the Dubliners and the Pogues! Sláinte 🍻 🇮🇪
The Pogues were a brilliant Night out
I feel sorry for anyone who never had the pleasure
Rest easy Shane
Feeling sorry for someone else over something so trivial is a silly waste of your time, but you dont seem beyond that, so its to be expected.

Nah he did mate, he’s all bloated and smelly.
He lived his life on his own terms, plaayed his music the same way. Anyone who don't like it, he could give a toss!
