can you do a tutorial on the repeat cycle timer?

I'm extending my mist king system to another cage. Is there water in the tube when the pump is off? I have regular household plumbing. I want to make sure when I cut the tube, water won't be shooting all over. Thanks. By the way, your Zilla jungle mix substrate is fantastic.

I'm confused. You plugged the solenoid into the old timer and the pump into the new one? What if they are out of sync?

Could you explain how your pressurized system works and why you add a solenoid valve to the outflow of the mistking pump?

Our RO water is stored in a 35gallon container with an air bladder so there is enough pressure to push water to all of the nozzles constantly unless we have a solenoid to stop it. We have added a timer to the solenoid to go off with the MistKing timer so that adequate pressure is achieved and the tanks don't flood.

I'm going to use this system for an aeroponics system and want it to run for10 sec off 5min around the clock seven days a week. Would the seconds timer work best for my settings? Thank you

Should the system start misting right away, or does it take time to prime?

Nice video! Can you add tubing between the bulkhead and the nozzle if you need it to drop further down into the enclosure, or is there another way to extend the distance? Thanks!

You can run tubing into the tank and have the nozzle located inside the tank by putting the tubing where the T or L piece would go. You will need to either make a smaller hole in the screen/glass top or if you're using an exo terra/zoomed enclosure you can use the holes in the screen top in the back of the tank.

Does the water source the pump is drawing from need to be above the pump? or does it not matter?

    • @joshsfrogsvideos5594

      Hi Curtis,
You'll want the water source to be above the pump. According to MistKing's recommended install guidelines, the pump must always be gravity fed water.

How do you balance the system when you have enclosures of DIFFERENT SIZES? Is it preferred to somehow open/close the mist emitters? Or do you use 1x emitter on a small tank, 2x on a medium, 3x on a large etc? My enclosures are bioactive and minimally planted for geckos. Have 12x12x18, 18x18x18 and 18x24x36 exo terra. I dont want to FLOOD my 12x12x18 before the larger tanks are fully misted. ALSO what about drains? Im sure its coming eventually.... but the current Exo tanks dont have bottom drains. Does anyone really drill the tanks and install them???

      Hey Mark,
Great Question! Thank you for reaching out to us.
You may be able to use more nozzles for larger tanks or ones that require more misting.
While it is possible to run solenoids to 'skip' certain misting cycles... This will open you up to more fail points. The mist king system is only intended to mist the same at each nozzle and not to spray at different times or duration at individual nozzles.

Thanks for the reply. But would you say the emittes are adjustable?

    • @JoshsFrogs

The mistking nozzles are not adjustable. You can use ball valves to completely shut off flow to certain nozzles but I would agree with Thomas that adding more nozzles to the larger tanks and running the system for a shorter time would ensure that you're not over or under misting your different sized tanks. You can also modify the nozzles to have multiple nozzles for each bulkhead.

Hi, how do you change the seconds on the old controller when programing on/off times? The secs button is the same button as the on/off/auto I haven't figured out how to change that so I'm stuck with minute increments.

    • @JoshsFrogs

When you're programming it no longer toggles the on/off/auto for the system and changes the seconds.

Is it possible to install a MistKing starter system without cutting the screen top of the terrarium? I have a ZooMed skyscraper and I was wondering if I would be able to use the cord holes at the top to run the tubing through.

Thank you for reaching out to us,
You can try, but i believe the hose is too thick for the cord holes in that vivarium. There is a possibility you could cut a hole in the glass to put the sprayer though, but going through the screen is usually the easiest option.

What nozzles would you recommend for a 90cm (high) x 45cm (deep) x 90cm(tall) terrarium?

      Hi Abraham,
Thank you for getting in touch with us. I apologize that I was unable to get back to you sooner. We have been really busy in the Plant Department this week! Surprisingly, the ponytail palm is actually a member of the Agave family and is a succulent. This makes it a great houseplant, but not the best for humid vivarium settings. Ideally it prefers bright light and semi-dry growing conditions. I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!
      Have a great weekend!
