Good morning! Great talking points, Mike. I used to shop at Aldi when I was still driving & had my own vehicle but, since I live in a different county now, I have no idea where our Aldi is. Cabs are too damn expensive to just go on a ride to see what's in the area & where it's at! I digress. As for not having to use a quarter, I'd just take my folding wagon in with me, fill it up with what I want to buy, go through the checkout, then fill my bags, put them into the wagon, take it to the cab, load the bags into the cab, fold up my wagon, ride back home, set up my wagon, put the bags back in the cart, then make my way to the elevator with Baggins The Wagon, then up to my floor & trek down the hall to my apartment. I'll be so glad when I don't have to do that anymore & retire my trustworthy companion! Enjoy the day!
In Oklahoma the average number of annal tornados is 56. This year as of yesterday we have had 89. It does seem to be a little more than what it usually is. I'm in Muskogee.

I think Aldi chargers a quarter for the buggy to may sure you return the buggy so they do not have to a) hire a person to retrieve buggies or b) not have to go outside in the elements or c) both LOL😂. As for the bag I found a really nice burlap bag and I use it at every store that no longer provides bags. I usually give my buggy with the quarter in it to someone entering the store and just ask them to do the same so I make it the quarter that keeps on giving.
I'm going to do that and wait in parking lot until they come out to see if they take the quarter, my guess is 8 out of 10 will take it before giving cart to someone else.

I buy items, mostly when on sale. I always keep in mind, how much a kg. or onces cost for that item, then I keep it in my head. I just buy a round roast when on sale and slice it into steaks.I remember here in Canada a Whole chicken could be bought for like $6. Now they are like $13, and I only like white meat, so I stopped buying whole chicken and just buy chicken breast. I just bought 10lbs. of Russet Potatoes, I am gonna make twice baked potatoes and freeze them. Nothing like a loaded potato.
I love my rural Aldi’s & I rarely have to “pay” to get a cart, (people at my store leave them “unattached”). I appreciate they have so many organic products at great prices & have good sales too. As a prior Commiefornia resident, I was already used to bringing my own bags, so no biggie there.
How pathetic is it that people watch your channels only to be critical of how you live your life. It's infuriating actually. I turn 70 in three weeks, and I know I do not like to be told what I should be doing. I tell them, "My life, my timing, my decisions--not yours." People who are younger simply cannot comprehend that there are days when nothing need be done and days when some gets done, and that is good enough. Recommendation: If you've got a Gordon's Food Service store within reasonable distance, it's a great place to shop for bulk food items. They are great for frozen vegetables, fruits, and meats, butter and cheeses. GFS is my favorite store for food with the added benefit that they are small stores and provide boxes for your purchases, or you can take bags.
We don't have an Aldi near where we are but next time I'm near one I want to try a trick I heard about... supposedly you can stick the round end of a key in the quarter slot if you don't have a quarter on you! Wondering if it actually works. 🤔

It's too bad the local store can't sell local meat or vegetables. When I lived in Florida we could buy local-grown pineapples, but the ones shipped from Costa Rica cost less.
What bugs me is the way chicken is packaged. They leave so much fat on it and tuck it under so you can’t see it. You end up paying at least half the price in garbage!
It’s mandatory in Europe. People used to steal shopping carts and abandon them all over the place. Plastic bags were strewn all over. It reduced the problem quite a lot BUT I don’t go to Aldi because their prices aren’t any better than elsewhere as they claim and the quality of their stuff is lower, much lower
I love aldi! Bring your own bags silly man! But I was crazy I actually wasted a quarter at Save-A-Lot, I Left My cart in the parking lot. Too tired to bring it all the way back in the stores where they now store them! Wow I wasted a whole 25 cents! 🤣
Hi Mike if you get lucky Aldi sometimes gives out little plasic coins that fit the shopping cart :) Here in Germany you have to put in a Dollar coin (1 EURO) Aldi is my most visited grocer. Be good!
I'm very lucky I live with my brother and his wife... They do all the shopping at Costco and Walmart they do all the shopping don't have to worry about stuff but I hated shopping because of Aldi's and stuff 😭. Lol 😅 love you xoxoxo

Mexico meat has all the things that are illegal in the USA, and then some... plus its tough as a boot and often has a blah flavor. Its only okay if you're using a lot of spices or sauces. I choked down some of it yesterday. 🤢 Should have hidden it under BBQ sauce.
I do miss seeing the types of videos you used to make. I hope you start making videos again on the OML channel. The podcasts are ok, but I do like seeing your project videos.

Yes they have quality meat. I purchased lamb chops and steaks from Aldi and they were from a local farmer and were really good quality.
