It's fun watching the evolution of your reactions. Some observations: Like most people, you're a complete bassophile. When the bass (Avi, in videos before he left the band in 2017, or Matt, when he joined to take over bass) kicks in strong, you *always* melt. (Most people do.) However, when Kirstin takes a lead, your face takes on a look I can only describe as "confidently expectant." As she usually starts off just singing a female part in a female voice (albeit a perfect voice, blended perfectly with the rest of the group, and clear as a bell on a crisp harbor morning), your face says "Yep. That's Kirstin. She's perfect. A power woman. Go Girl." but it also says "Okay, when are you going to do it? I know you're going to do it. When?" And when Kirstin decides its time to turn on the power, it's like your face beams with some magic combination of both joy and pride. Until, of course, she grabs you and takes a power flight to the stars with you in tow. Then you get all melty just like the rest of us. :-D Your reaction to Mitch is always what I expect it to be after watching your first one. But, honestly, how else could you react to such a pure angelic voice which seems to not understand that there should be an upper limit to the vocal range? I think this is the first time I've seen you get a glimpse of Scott in full breakout mode. They all get some time to shine in every piece they do -- part of their charm and power, I think -- but this is the first time I think you've seen Scott really push his showcase hard to the the front -- and your reaction to him was filled with that same incredulous first-time awe you get whenever anyone in the band shows you something new. And I think it's something of an implicit compliment that you almost invariably give Kevin his praise in your review of the piece. What he does (playing the part of what seems like forty instruments at once) becomes so crucial to the framework of the performance that you seem to get lost in it -- but you always bring it up in your closing points. Such a joy to watch your reactions. Thank you for doing this.
I love this version but this one and the disturbed version are great for completely different reasons. The true meaning behind the lyrics of this song is portrayed better by disturbed than anyone else who has ever done it but the sound and performance is done better but PTX. They are different but neither is better than the other. The original is great because without Simon and Garfunkel's words we wouldn't have this song and just like with "imagine" this is a song that we need for everyone in the world to hear and really feel.
A great part of the Pentatonix experience is how they modify their looks and the settings in which they perform to fit the material. They must have a huge crew to travel around and find the locales in which they shoot their videos. The clincher is when you find a live performance, and they sound the same as when they record in a studio. I thoroughly enjoy your reactions, too. Hope you keep going for a long time!

It was indeed beautiful. I have never heard an artist ever cover a song with such love, honor and respect as Pentatonix did for this classic song written over 56 years ago by Simon and Garfunkel. My own respect and admiration goes out to this wonderful group, and many kudos as well to the video director, editor and all of the other contributors that helped make this video so extraordinary.

If you're looking for more of their videos to review, a lot of reviewers do "Daft Punk" and "Aha! Singapore, The Star Vista." Just a heads-up, the video for "Aha! Singapore, The Star Vista" was filmed with a cell phone, but Mitch is truly amazing in it. If you want something a little more out-of-the-box, three of my favorites that don't get reviewed as much are "Gold", "New Rules", and "White Winter Hymnal". I would love to see your reviews of any of these! Keep up the good work!

While you can’t go wrong with anything that Pentatonix does, Their Sam Smith medley, LaLaLatch is stunning as well as their live cover/upgrade of Gold by Kiiara. Their version of Say Something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera will make you cry. Havana is one of their newer covers and Mad World is breathtaking. I am looking forward to seeing more of your Pentatonix reviews. One helpful hint to prevent copyright block is to put your channel watermark transparent over the video so you don’t have to pause or skip. You can also use a filter to partially obscure at the video as well
