@@chandreyeejackson5, yes, most noticeably in Hallelujah when Avi sings lead and you still hear a deep bass underneath. Lots of people naturally assume that that's two tracks of Avi, but you can tell in the live video that it is actually Scott singing the bass part, and doing it well.
The ear intrigue they create is the magic of their music. They know all the right places for each voice and they know when to release the power of a 5 voice wall.
Cheryl Howe and he is such a good performer when it comes to him never stealing the spotlight from the others when they are singing solo or together, but still shine when he is supposed to. It’s beautiful😍
Singing with Lauren I think their cover of Gold (Kiiara) would be really cool. It’s done live in a single take and a really challenging song. You might want to check out the original before your reaction to really understand what they accomplished.
@@SingingwithLauren Dancing On My Own, New Rules × Are You That Somebody, Attention, Perfect, Havana, Gold, Evolution of Rihanna, Evolution of Ariana Grande are some of my favorites. But honestly, anything would be great!!
some other covers that are really spectacular and show their versatility is AHA live in Singapore and Bohemian Rhapsody. Highly recommend them for reaction.
I actually liked it. Granted I like disturbed version better, as i thought of it as a little angry that we didn't heed the warning. Nice reaction. Keep up the good work.

Hey Lauren. I just wanted to ask you... what, exactly, do you even need a mouth for? Your eyes are ridiculously( not at all in a bad way!) Expressive! :)
Scott, Ben Bram and Shams Ahmed have spawned off two other acapella groups, Citizen Queen, five very talented young women, and Acapop Kids, tons of young vocal talent..no one over 15! CQ covered Never Enough only five days after they were brought together in the summer of 2018! They toured with PTX last year. ua-cam.com/video/jBtdRpW9tck/v-deo.html The Acapop Kids recently performed live on the Kelly Clarkson show. Scott presented them and looked like a proud father! ua-cam.com/video/wfDmIJ1I0TA/v-deo.html
You MUST listen to PTX sing “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. They do it in a slow 4 instead of 6/8, adding poignancy to the song. At the end, they end the piece on an A9, voiced to maximize the overtones. Avi sings a 3rd ledger-line A, making the chord sound like an organ! Amazing!
That was an interesting reaction, Lauren! I see that you reacted to Marcelino at AGT-C, but not Angelina Jordan. Her two solo performances there are masterworks of voice control, vibrato and melismas, obviously to demonstrate the immense talent that she has. I'd be very interested to see your reaction to either, better both, of those performances. BTW, she does her own arranging, which in the case of Bohemian Rhapsody is completely unique.
@@SingingwithLauren I assure you that your subscribership will explode once you start to do reactions to Angelina. She already had millions of rabid followers around the world before appearing on AGT-C. She won Norway's got talent in 2014...when she was seven (yes, 7) years old! She just turned 14. Make sure it's a true reaction so that we can see the astonishment on your face. 8-))
You've definitely gotta check out Disturbed's version. The live version on Conan is incredible and David was sick with the flu during his performance. Probably my favorite cover of this song.
Ok I have to say I love this video but one thing I have noticed is that every reaction video I have seen to this is all about the sound and how absolutely beautiful it is. (I agree ) That being said no one ever talks about the lyrics of the song :) Just my opinion but the lyrics say being silent when you see a wrong is just as bad as committing the wrong yourself. Peace and love from Canada eh :) sorry :)
The meaning of a song is what the song means to you. In the more than half century since this song was composed (1964) the world has moved on in many ways, presenting many new opportunities for understanding The Sound of Silence. The meaning evident to those of that long ago era was about not buying into the American Dream of living in the suburbs with 2.4 children (with the mother being just a housewife of course) everyone wearing the same suits and dresses, doing the same things and ignoring the existence of ‘coloreds’ and others of ‘wrong’ ancestry, not to mention those horrid sexual deviants and definitely those pot-smoking folk-music-listening long-haired beatnik types. Or at least that is how I and those like me understood it back then. On the liner notes of the purely acoustic Wednesday Morning 3 AM album released in 1964, Art Garfunkel mentions that Paul Simon, who wrote the song and performed it with Art, disliked interpretations. And Paul was/is right. Music, and all art, expresses that which cannot be spoken, only pointed to. To say it means this or that is both wrong and right. If it points to something important and meaningful for you, then it is art. Liking this version or that version of The Sound of Silence because it touches you is proof of its greatness.
Love all of their covers! They make every song their own. Totally miss Avi, but Matt is a pretty good replacement. Not as solid on the bass line but pretty strong. Thanks Lauren! New on your page. Huge Pentatonix fan!

When they started I thought that Scott, Mitch and Avi were outstanding singers, and Kirstin was good, but not special. Since then, she is the one who evolved the most (in the group, I will let Avi apart). Now she has a unique tone and a superb control that she lacked years ago. She has surely worked impressively hard to accomplish that.
Disturbed's version is better. This group sounds pretty good, but they're singing this song too fast. Also keep in mind Disturbed's lead singer didn't have band members contributing any vocals. He was an army of one! 🙂

Hey MJ! I agree so much! the arranging is pure gold.
My favorite was Kirsty. I love the way she just squares her shoulders and belts out a thoroughly triumphant verse.

The official video from Disturbed adds so much to it, much like PTX's video for "Imagine."
If you think that was difficult, you should hear them do Bohemien Rhapsody!
