This is one of the best reactions I've ever seen. There are a lot of nonsense PROFESSIONAL reacts to pentatonix and you can tell it's just click bait. Yours isn't - it's one of the best technical and professional examinations of pentatonix I've ever seen. and I've seen a LOT. Thanks for your time and effort and you can multiply that by 10 for the english subtitles - very few non-english speakers take the time to do that. Kudos to you and I hope your channel does as well as it deserves!
ChodTheWacko, I am truly grateful for your kind words. It is a lot of work and effort BUT the kindness, support, encouragement I am receiving in return by many generous commenters like you, repays me 10 times as much! Thank you! Roberto.
Somehow, when the reactor interrupts, I'm so interested in what he has to say next that I don't MIND the interruptions - I look forward to them. What a great teacher. :D
I've watched hundreds of Pentatonix reaction vids, including a bunch from professional voice coaches. Your analysis is the first one I've seen which has gone into this level of detail from the standpoint of breaking down the arrangement on the fly. You are hearing and commenting on things that I've not seen other reactors catch, so kudos to you.
Instant and detailed analysis "on the go". Even though there are lots of pauses, I like this better than the "cheerleader" reactions which don't really educate or inform. Good job. s The first time I ever heard them perform, I just sat there with my mouth hanging open and teary-eyed.
Loved your review. You expressed many things that I have also thought that other reviewers have not mentioned. I have subscribed in hopes of seeing more of your work.
Loved this reaction because it's interesting to see a professional break down their arrangements. They are so unique and perfect. That's why they won 2 Grammys for arranging. A third one for a collaboration. Please check out Hallelujah next and do it just like this one!!! 👍👍👍
Thank you for your subtitles and and your thoughtful breakdown of their arrangement. They are very intentional with every word, note, beat & silence. They have been together for a decade now and trust each other implicitly with timing. We Pentaholics call their build up, the Wall of Sound and yes they often have full silence breaks as they know well how to use them. When they sing on same notes for a line or two, we can expect them to break back into harmonies which is SO powerful. Bravo! Amazing Grace is stunning!
I have listened to a fairly large number of reactions to this and other Pentatonix videos. Yours is the most complete, most incisive and in many ways the most knowledgeable I have come across. In addition, you do a better job of explaining and relating what you are experiencing, feeling and knowing than anyone I have heard/seen. There others who are knowledgeable and ,of course, some are specialized in certain areas but you excel in all areas. You pick up on nuances in the performance that many do not and you bring them to life for people who do not possess you knowledge, experience or artistic depth and understanding. You have a wonderful gift and you are a wonderful gift for all of us. Thank you !
Michael, words like yours, full of kindness, encouragement, support, are the best gift I could hope to get in return for my little contribution! Thank YOU!!!
100% agree, I’ve watched A LOT of reactions to this performance and this was by far the most informative and in depth analysis. I absolutely loved it 😊
As a Pentatonix fan I am always "wowed" by their voices blended and individually and the skill of their transitions. Having watched hundreds of reactors, this is the first time I have given a "wow!!" to a reactor, the most skilled of all, and also a "wow" to the commenters this reactor has attracted. Count me in!
What a privilege it is to listen to your reactions. You have my undivided attention from the outset because with every word you utter, I feel I am receiving an education. Your sheer love of music is blindingly obvious and your depth of knowledge and musicianship is astonishing. Without a doubt the best reviewer on UA-cam. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us lesser mortals.
Roberto, I just recently discovered your channel. How refreshing it is to see a real professional dissect the song/performance phrase by phrase, and render your personal critique of the construction, implementation, and delivery, of these genius renditions of songs that were popular so long ago. Pentatonix is today's ABBA with a much more sophisticated modern twist to their compositions. I, like others, have stated... get so disgusted with most other analyses of these ( know-nothings) that never hear what you absorb, because they are not cultivated enough to appreciate what they are hearing. Thank you for your precise examination of every layer of color and texture this group puts into their performances. It is beyond belief. Thank you for unearthing, and expounding. on the hidden treasures of phrasing and tone and timing, that might go unappreciated had you not brought them to light. You are a joy to watch and learn from. Thank you for your channel, and all the work you put into it.
I’m just catching up on all of my UA-cam recommendations. They are mostly for PTX reaction videos. It’s already been wonderfully and succinctly said earlier, but just to reiterate; this has been the most detailed and informative reaction, Ever! You picked up on, and spoke about EVERYONE’S contribution, interpretation and style in that song, including Kevin’s Beatboxing. You took the time! We went on the journey with you and learned new things! Thank you! I will look out for more Pentatonix reactions from you - it will be worth it… Bellissimo! 😘
I have been a huge fan of Pentatonix since they first began on the American TV show "The Sing-Off. Their cover of The Sound of Silence might be my favorite song they've sung (but they have many great songs, both covers and originals, and you should react to all of them!). So I've watched many reaction videos to this song. NONE of those reactions have gone into such depth as you have, picking apart the musical, technical, and creative choices PTX made in their arrangement. I've loved this version of the song since I first heard it, hitting me with all the melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and emotional punch that blows me away every time. Your nuanced dissection helped me understand even more why this song is one of my favorite Pentatonix songs ever. Instant like & subscribe from me! Bravo!
I was thrilled to see you had a new reaction today and to one of my favorite groups! Then, I asked myself why did I enjoy your reactions? And, this is it... because even though music is dots (notes) arranged on lines (staff) written on 2 dimensional paper, so in that sense, it is linear. But when instruments (human and crafted) have those notes applied in specific sequences, it undergoes metamorphosis into a multi dimensional conceptual experience that no ear alone can contain. You get that and the fun for me is listening to you try to explain it.😉
Katy, I couldn’t have found a better, more poetic and elegant way to describe this wonderful alchemy we call music. A truly multi dimensional conceptual journey within which I like to get lost...in good company! Thank you!!!
Katy, you nailed this!! The music that Pentatonix creates is so much more than vocal range. It certainly is that too, but their arrangements, variations, and intensity levels really create that multidimensional effect. Roberto, I was new to your channel. I'm very familiar with Pentatonix and have enjoyed much of their work for these half-dozen years or so. It's refreshing and informative to hear reaction and breakdown that exists much more than, "Oooh!! That high note!" "Wait! This is just their voice?!" Those are amusing for the surprise reaction, and it's fun to watch people discover something, but it was very satisfying to hear you get into chord progressions, rhythm, vowel structure, etc. There was a time where I sang quite alot with accomplished musicians better than I am. These were the kind of directions I'd receive to bring my baritone along to match their skill. I very much look forward to more of your work!
This has to be one of the best reactions I have ever watched. It was fascinating. You highlighted things in this song I didn't even notice. masterful. You gained a subscriber.
I have to say ditto to everything that Chod said. I have been listening to Pentatonix for several years and listening to people respond to their music for about three months. I have to say say your interpretations of what they are doing musically makes the listening experience so much more fulfilling. I always knew what I liked, I just didn’t know why. Thank you!
Sir, your analysis in this video is the most insightful, sincere, and intellectual examination I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing. This clip puts most other reaction videos to shame by virtue of substantive, expert observations that even speak to the stylistic choices made in the video. I’ve never watched a reaction video this professional in my life. Well done sir. Bravissimo!
Like so many others here, I really really appreciated the amount of detail you were able to extrapolate in your analysis of their stylistic choices! For example, that little voice break that Mitch puts in at 8:45, which almost makes it sound like he's crying -- which you commented on! I loved that. And the way Matt opens up his notes on "saw" and "songs", taking up so much more space, but then dialing it back just as quickly... all the little details, you caught them all! I was SO impressed!! If I could speak Italian and if I could afford it, I think I can safely say there's no one I'd rather have as a vocal coach than you, sir.
I was totally captivated by this comprehensive review! You present your emotional reaction to their music, as well as a detailed technical analysis, but you are the first reactor I have heard that marries those two, to help us understand the genius of Pentatonix... exactly how they take us on the emotional journey that draws us in, lifts us up, shakes us to the core, and finally, leaves us somehow changed. Bravo! I would love to hear your analysis of their cover of "Hallelujah," which features their original bass singer, Avi Kaplan, a classically trained basso profundo. You may also enjoy their interpretation of Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"... a piece with no lyrics, performed by PTX with no instruments!
Amazing Roberto. I agree with all of the comments. But the fact you seem to be able to play amazing piano and have a tremendous voice yourself, well, now I get how you can break it down! Thank you!
It's lovely to see the group not just appreciated for having lovely voices but for the arrangement, the technique, the execution, all the little touches and careful choices that make their performances so good. Appreciation and real analysis. Completely worth reading subtitles!
The way she sings "Words" -- thank you so much for noticing that. Dude--you are legit. Best reactions to Pentatonix songs I have ever seen. I'll have to check out all of your reactions, now--damn you. :-)
Welcome to the world of Pentatonix. Yes, they are masters of their craft. Please listen to more. Note: a heads up: the bass from 2011 to 2017 was Avi Kaplan. From 2017 to present is Matt Sallee (the one in Sound of Silence). Members in order of solos: Scott Hoying - baritone Mitch Grassi - tenor Matt Sallee - Bass Kirstie Maldonado - soprano Kevin Olusola - Beat boxer (and tenor - he does also sing.)
I just discovered your reactions last night, and now I have to keep watching them. As others have said, yours are the only "vocal coach" reactions that actually go beyond the surface. I would love to see you react to Amazing Grace.
Thank you so much for providing the subtitles for this video. Your analysis was so much more detailed that what is out there, especially on a group that's as talented as PTX. I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos in the future!
i love the fact that you went back, and back and back to have us hear what you were talking about. So many dont even pause fewer still go back to keep the flow of the song,,
Thank you for your incredibly gifted analysis. It was truly a blessing to me! My enjoyment of this arrangement will be enhanced forever. And I now want the same for all my favorite Pentatonix songs. Subscribed in anticipation...
@@LezioniDiCantoOnline I've been thinking about my earlier comment, wishing I had better words to express how grateful I am for the gift of you. As I read through the commemts made by others just now, I kept saying, "Yes, that's what I should have said!" For someone like me who dearly loves Pentatonix but has no training or understanding of the craft, finding someone like you who can help me see and appreciate it at such a deep level is amazing. And your ability to share your joy as you listen brings joy to us. Again, my deepest thanks! Please continue to astonish us...with Amazing Grace, Mary, Did You Know?, Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and so many others!
What an incredible reaction. I learn so much from your explanation. Thank you for including the subtitles, as I do not speak Italian. Pentatonix is superb!!
I have watched countless reactions to Pentatonix and this is, by far, the most amazing reaction I’ve seen. Not just to Pentatonix but to any group, song, music...You pointed out so much that I had never caught onto before or had even thought about with their arrangement. I wanted to like and re-like this at so many moments. You have earned a new follower and fan. I cannot wait to watch more of your reactions. 🧡
Thank you for the deep analysis and the sharing of your enjoyment. My summary of this version is that it retains some of the intensity Disturbed added, yet restores many of the original harmonies by Simon and Garfunkel.
Roberto, today I discovered your review of Pentatonix cover of Sound of Silence, and like others on this thread have remarked, I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction, and informative analysis - so much so I watched your review 3 times. I very much look forward to you future reactions of this amazing group. I myself discovered Pentatonix about 9 months ago and, after experiencing 4 of their official videos and live 2 “live performance” videos, I joined the legion of fans known as Pentaholics.
I heard that this wasn’t in English and almost went to the next video. I’m so glad I didn’t. What a fantastic and in depth reaction! I’ve watched dozens of reactions of this song, and none are as fascinating as yours. You really broke down exactly what was happening and made me think differently about a song I’ve heard a million times! Truly one of the best reactions to pentatonix I’ve ever seen. This is incredible.
Wow! YOUR technical skill and enthusiastic delivery made for a very satisfying REACTION :-) Thank you! (and thank.you so much for the subtitles, as well)
Wow...really enjoyed your breakdown. Please do more Pentatonix. I would love to see how you would react/breakdown to "Hallelujah". Btw, the subtitles are greatly appreciated.
OMGOODNESS you have absolutely got to do every single song they’ve ever made. Aside from the fact I could listen to you all day long ❤️ but I am one of the biggest PTX fans and have watched virtually ever reactor and yours is so detailed and picks out technical, highlights that nobody else I’ve seen. I discovered you by accident today but I’m gonna be back time and again. Thank you for a fabulous experience❣️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Bravo sir, this is the best Pentatonix reaction I've ever seen. Would love to see more from you. I've listened to Pentatonix since their beginning and am obsessed by them.... now I know why.
Pentatonix is a master class on vocal delivery in all 5 vocal ranges. Here in the USA I know several schools that offer actual course studies on Pentatonix. After 10 yrs they have redefined what is possible for acapella performances. Welcome to our world of Pentaholics(fans of PTX).
Your reaction was a welcomed breath of fresh air! I loved the way you interpreted the song and its arrangement. I found much that I had missed by simply listening to the song without analysis. So thank you for this! I will be back to hear more from you. So far as I know, Pentatonix does all of their arrangements themselves. They have become masters over the years. One more note. Have you ever listened to the original song that Simon and Garfunkel wrote and sang in 1964? Such a different approach! But it gets the same message across.
I've listened to many reviews and I must say I've enjoyed your beautiful voice and language. Bellissima!! Your review was also so intelligent and informative. Wonderful.
Smartest analysis ever. Pentatonix are real perfectionists and everything they do, they choices they make, are deliberate and well thought out. You picked up soooo much in your analysis. I'm impressed. It took me 50 listenings to pick out those points on my own! (By the way, the female singer, Kirstin, is half-Italian, so there's that... And the high-pitched male singer, Mitch Grassi -- there's got to be some Italian with that last name!) They end a lot of their songs sotto voce these days. I think you'd love their interpretation of Can You Feel The Love from The Lion King. It is quite the performance, with costumes included. ua-cam.com/video/cT1Kzk7akjQ/v-deo.html. (Extra bonus -- it has THREE key changes!)
Thank you, Roberto, for your thorough and thoughtful analysis. I listen to reactions for PTX exclusively so, of course, I have heard their version of "Sound of Silence" dozens of times. No one has ever captured all the musical (and physical) inflections that these 5 supremely talented folks have performed the way you have. Excellent work! I didn't read all the comments, but I saw a couple people mention that PTX has been together since 2011, but the three in the center (left to right) are Kirstin Maldanado, Scott Hoying, and Mitch Grassi. Scott and Mitch have sung together since middle school and with Kirstin since high school. They are completely in tune with each other. We all have our favorites, but there are very few of their songs that I don't enjoy. I hope you continue listening and reacting to them, and I'm SO glad your opinion changed by listening to this song. ;-)
I thoroughly enjoy your insight and analysis of Pentatonix songs/music. Being a Pentaholic, I've seen a lot of reactions and yours are always the best. One thing I have not see mentioned in any review of this song is the pin-hole of light that comes streaming in from behind. It's just over Scott's shoulder right as he starts singing "Hello darkness my old friend", yet there's that light and it peaks out in much of the video. It's over Mitch's shoulder too during his solo and it appears again at the end. To me, it seems they are trying to relay that there's hope, that the light is still trying to get into the darkness. The other thing I haven't heard mentioned is their dress and the location where they shot this video. They're all dressed in back and white and the scene is a very grey/industrial setting....very drab. It's almost like it's a black and white video. But the way they sing the song and pin-hole of light coming in and peaking out from around their heads gives the feeling of hope.
This is the first review I've seen where the reactor catches all the little things I've been seeing on top of adding their own insights and expert thoughts. I really love this reaction and hope you keep reacting to all of Pentatonic because they are so complex and it's great to see someone really break it down.
Thank you so much for the Subs and for your very detailed reaction. Looks like you really enjoyed them. Enjoy this Rabbit Hole because, like the Dimash one, it's worth it! =)
I LIKE THIS GUY! Best reactor! I watch a lot of music coaches reactions, but yours has to be the best. Not only are you discussing the techniques but the emotions and feelings of the song! Love it. Bravo!
Thank you for a professional rewiev. I took singing lessons when I was young, and just as some of the others, I watched others reactions and rewievs before, just for fun. Really nice to hear a professional who really goes in to details. Keep up the good work.
I adore your reviews. The way you interpret each note, and explain the journey of the music is just a good as hearing them sing. It brings a new awareness and takes me to another level when listening. Not to mention you're handsome and that accent....YES! keep doing what you do. You have a gift.
Hi Roberto, very beautiful reaction and yes they are so incredible and another of my favorites is Mary did you know and amazing grace, but everything they do is out of this world!!!!! Keep reacting I greatly look forward to you experiencing music take care see you in the next video.
I loved your reaction. Thank you. It was informational and I appreciated your explanations. You love what you do and it shows. Pentatonix is a wonderful and talented group and deserve to be credited for their beautiful harmony and hard work. I am thankful my Kids got interested in them. I would have missed out on this beautiful group. They have given me many hours of pleasurable listening. .
I’m so happy this has subtitles. Ur so knowledgeable and breaks songs down amazingly. Plus I could listen to you speak all night long. New subscriber 🥰
I just got a chance to watch this. I very much enjoyed your comments and you really get into it and tell a true reaction and why you react that way. True, yours takes a lot longer sometimes to get through but it is a true and honest reaction and explains a lot of times why you think that way. I loved the way Scott took over for Matt. Scott has such a wide range. Each of them is special in their own way and you pick many of their good points in your reaction. I look for the ones you react to. Thank you so much.
This was, by far, one of the best and most satisfying reactions I have ever viewed... And believe, me, I've seen many. Not only did I love listening to your beautiful language, but the way you broke it all down and really exposed the true genius of this group - and this cover specifically - thrilled me to the core. Thank you so very much, and I will definitely look for more of your videos.
You make me like reading captions. I find your review/reaction excellent. So comprehensive and exposes me to different aspects of their performance. Also, I love Kevin. His contribution is often overlooked because he's not the voice. You've gained a subscriber. :)
I am five minutes into this reaction and am incredibly delighted. I can't wait to watch the rest, but had to comment immediately because I wanted to suggest a song (even though you're right, it's long past Christmas!) that pertains directly to your comment about the quality of sound and atmosphere the 'ooo' sound makes for the background. In my favorite song that PTX has done, Little Drummer Boy, there's a place where they change from an ooo sound to an ahhh and it's almost like vocal fireworks going on behind the soloist at the time. It's fantastic, and I have yet to see someone comment on it. They also use a filter on the beatboxing at one point to slowly change the 'brightness' of it to support the song, which is very interesting. I'd love to hear (read! My dad, long dead now, spoke Italian, but I wasn't old enough to learn when he passed, sadly) your take on it. Now to watch the rest. Superb, truly fantastic analysis.
Just adding, this was all fantastic--you gave us both your genuine emotional reaction as well as your clear love of music and talent in recognizing what they're doing technically, all at once. I only very slightly mourn the loss of what you've clearly cut out, but at the same time, you display some obvious editing skills in that fact that you've made a complete, coherent, and compelling video for us to watch! I would learn Italian just to be able to understand you had you not included the subtitles, truly. Top-notch, fantastic, subscribed, can't wait to check out your other stuff. Thank you so much for the obvious time, energy, and passion you've put into this.
Che bello finalmente trovare reazioni (e che reazioni) italiane ai Pentatonix! Spero che tu riesca a farne molte altre, anche per poter meglio apprezzare tutti i "tecnicismi" che, senza il tuo commento, non saprei cogliere. Complimenti davvero!
Wonderful reaction! I really enjoyed seeing your emotional response and well as the technical breakdown of this song. Subscribed for more Pentatonix reactions.
Thank You for this wonderful reaction and analysis. It seems that every aspect of this performance was addressed in a way that I appreciated and learned from. I look forward to your reactions!
I Absolutely love your reactions. Your PASSION and JOY for the human voice(instrument) is infectious!! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and love for music!!!
Wow, this was such a detailed and thought provoking reaction! Thank you! I've watched this video so many times and you have given me fresh insights and a new understanding of some of the nuances of their process. I look forward to more of your reactions!
Great reaction and thanks for the subtitles. I think you need to do more Pentatonix some examples Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, Daft Punk and Amazing Grace
Absolutely the BEST reaction to this group I have seen, and believe me, I have seen what seems like a hundred or more. You missed nothing. What an ear you have. Your subtitles are wonderful because although I speak Spanish, my Italian is pretty wobbly. I look forward to your reactions to other Pentatonix songs, especially the Aha! Singapore live version which appears to be taken on someone's phone. I would love to hear your analysis of their voice work as it is quite intense.
New subscriber. Thank you so much for this reaction. The depth of your analysis allowed me to better understand the complexity and perfection that is PTX and took my appreciation of their talents to an entirely new level. I look forward to listening to more of your videos.
Pentatonix came together in Texas, USA, when Kirsty, Mitch and Scott were in high school choir together. After high school they added Avi Kaplan as their bass and Keven as beatboxer and sometime tenor (he also plays cello - bellisimo!) and they entered an American TV competition that was strictly for A Capella groups or choirs of any size. They ended up winning that competition and the prize was one hundred thousand dollars and a recording contract. That was 10 years ago and, although Avi literally broke my heart when he left the group a few years ago, they have managed to create an entirely new genre - A Capella pop - and inspire other young singers to follow in their footsteps. There is another amazing A Capella group that won the competition the following year and they have been touring non-stop ever since. They are called Home Free, and I would love to see you react to their music; How Great Thou Art is probably my personal favorite followed by Ring of Fire, but really all of their songs are wonderful and their beatboxer is incredible!
I'm a fan of Pentatonix and was excited to hear what you had to say about them! I loved hearing your breakdown of the arrangement (honestly I say that a lot). They let me appreciate the songs on another level. I would love to hear your breakdown of their "Hallelujah" (there is a good quality live version!) and "Run To You" (I believe is an original). Even if you don't react to the second song, you should absolutely listen to it.
You have put into words what I am feeling with this song - thank you for your insight and reaction (oh and for the English subtitles)! This is the first time visiting your channel (I am a PTX fan).
I am so happy that I found your channel! Having the subtitles so that I could understand all your comments about how beautifully Pentatonix chooses everything that goes into their songs made it perfect. You explained it in a way that I’ve never seen anyone else do. They do a cover of Ed Sheeran’s song Perfect where the beat boxer plays his cello. You might find it interesting.
Your analysis helps me truly understand the depth and emotion of the human voice. You seem to really appreciate more than just notes. Fantastic reaction. I am definitely a new subscriber. Pentatonix has been together since 2011 and have only changed one member of the group. Bass Avi Kaplan left in 2017 and Matt Sallee (3rd soloist in the white jacket) joined soon after. Please react to Pentatonix cover of Amazing Grace, Bohemian Rhapsody, My Favourite Things and their 1st Grammy win Daft Punk Medley.
The best reaction I've ever heard. Wow. The feelings I have but cannot describe in words. You can do it. Simply great. I love their cover of Halleluja, come along and bohemian rhapsody.

Well said - what a wonderful reaction!
I AGREE!

Thank you, Sabine!!!
I would love to be a fly on the wall when they are creating the arrangements

Roberto, I just recently discovered your channel.
How refreshing it is to see a real professional dissect the song/performance phrase by phrase, and render your personal critique of the construction, implementation, and delivery, of these genius renditions of songs that were popular so long ago.

Johnnyohness, your super kind and encouraging comment made my day! Thank you SO much for that! Roberto
More pentatonix please
Bravo!
Again, THANK YOU!!!
What a perfect description. This is why I love his analysis so much.
This is just their voice?!"
Those are amusing for the surprise reaction, and it's fun to watch people discover something, but it was very satisfying to hear you get into chord progressions, rhythm, vowel structure, etc.
There was a time where I sang quite alot with accomplished musicians better than I am. These were the kind of directions I'd receive to bring my baritone along to match their skill.
I very much look forward to more of your work!
@@timfredrickson6141 THANK YOU, Tim!!!
I love the respect you give Matt and Kevin
"Beautiful descent into hell". That has to be my favorite description of a bass singer I've ever heard. 😆
:-)
This has to be one of the best reactions I have ever watched. It was fascinating. You highlighted things in this song I didn't even notice. masterful. You gained a subscriber.
Thank you SO much, Totah Sam!
I have to say ditto to everything that Chod said. I have been listening to Pentatonix for several years and listening to people respond to their music for about three months. I have to say say your interpretations of what they are doing musically makes the listening experience so much more fulfilling. I always knew what I liked, I just didn’t know why. Thank you!
Loved your reaction! Please do more Pentatonix!! Thx.
Thank you VERY much, Mel V!!!
Thank you VERY much for your kind comment and feedback, Kaye...truly appreciated!!!
Amazing Roberto. I agree with all of the comments. But the fact you seem to be able to play amazing piano and have a tremendous voice yourself, well, now I get how you can break it down! Thank you!
Thank YOU, Lisa!!!
Thank you SO much, Rip VanWinkle!!!
Welcome to the world of Pentatonix. Yes, they are masters of their craft. Please listen to more. Note: a heads up: the bass from 2011 to 2017 was Avi Kaplan. From 2017 to present is Matt Sallee (the one in Sound of Silence).
Members in order of solos:
Scott Hoying - baritone
Mitch Grassi - tenor
Matt Sallee - Bass
Kirstie Maldonado - soprano
Kevin Olusola - Beat boxer (and tenor - he does also sing.)
Thank you Catherine!
I just discovered your reactions last night, and now I have to keep watching them. As others have said, yours are the only "vocal coach" reactions that actually go beyond the surface. I would love to see you react to Amazing Grace.
Thank you SO much, snapdragon8888!!!
Thank you so much for providing the subtitles for this video. Your analysis was so much more detailed that what is out there, especially on a group that's as talented as PTX. I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos in the future!
Thank you SO much, Jeremy!!!
Thanks to you, I now appreciate what Pentatonix is doing with this song. You made every minute of my time and your time count. Thank-you!
Thank YOU, B Smith!!!
Thank you for your wonderfully eloquent reaction! I hope you will react to more Pentatonix. I really enjoyed this reaction!
Thank YOU, Dale!!!
Thanks, Robert for every time you post theses, I learn to love music even more.
Diane, thank YOU, I am so happy to hear I can be of some help!!!
An intelligent, informed deconstruction that I liked and agreed with. You obviously know your stuff. I really love Pentatonix!
i love the fact that you went back, and back and back to have us hear what you were talking about. So many dont even pause fewer still go back to keep the flow of the song,,
I loved your analysis. If you love music, you need to hear Pentatonix sing amazing grace.
Thank you, Gregory!!!
Thank you for the subtitles! Great reaction! Would love more PTX reactions!
Thank you, Meredith!!!
Thank you for your incredibly gifted analysis. It was truly a blessing to me! My enjoyment of this arrangement will be enhanced forever. And I now want the same for all my favorite Pentatonix songs. Subscribed in anticipation...
Karyl, thank YOU for your words. Really glad to know this could be of some help for someone!
Amazing reaction! Please do more Pentatonix 🙏
I’m thinking he’s added to his list Jake! 😃
So many of us love Pentatonix but can’t analyze it like you. Please do more ☮️💟😷
I have watched countless reactions to Pentatonix and this is, by far, the most amazing reaction I’ve seen. Not just to Pentatonix but to any group, song, music...You pointed out so much that I had never caught onto before or had even thought about with their arrangement. I wanted to like and re-like this at so many moments. You have earned a new follower and fan. I cannot wait to watch more of your reactions. 🧡
Brilliant analysis! Bello! Thank you.
Thank you, Len!!!
Thank you for the deep analysis and the sharing of your enjoyment.
My summary of this version is that it retains some of the intensity Disturbed added, yet restores many of the original harmonies by Simon and Garfunkel.
Thank you, R0kus!!!
Felton, thank you SO much for your interest and support!!!
Love your appreciation for their talents. They are so amazing!
Thank you, Carol!!!
Really great reaction. Would love to see you react to more Pentatonix!
Thank you, Erik!!!
Thank you SOO much, Transparent Eclipse!!!
Wow! YOUR technical skill and enthusiastic delivery made for a very satisfying REACTION :-) Thank you!
(and thank.you so much for the subtitles, as well)
Thank YOU, Elizabeth!!!
I enjoyed your reaction and analysis very much! From Texas (same city as Pentatonix), I say grazie!
Thank you Susan!!!
Wow...really enjoyed your breakdown.
Please do more Pentatonix. I would love to see how you would react/breakdown to "Hallelujah".
Btw, the subtitles are greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Gretchen!!!
A very thorough and informative reaction!
Thank you, Carrie B!!!
Thank you for your reactions, descriptions and explanations of The music I love from Pentatonix! Thank you
Thank YOU, Joyce!!!
What a fantastic review. So detailed....thank you for that. I hope Pentatonix themselves see this explanation & breakdown. Really excellent.
Thank you SO much, Miss Polly!!! 🤞🏻
Thank you So much, Ness!!!
Bravo sir, this is the best Pentatonix reaction I've ever seen. Would love to see more from you. I've listened to Pentatonix since their beginning and am obsessed by them.... now I know why.
Thank you SO much, Barbara!!!
Loved your analysis! More Pentatonix please.
Thank you KSL!!!
They have a "6th member," Ben Bram who arranges (but the singing members contribute to arrangements too).
Thank you, Kathy! Yes, I've listened to S&G's gem when I was a kid. I used to sing it with my elder brother.
I've listened to many reviews and I must say I've enjoyed your beautiful voice and language. Bellissima!! Your review was also so intelligent and informative. Wonderful.
Denise, thank you SO much!!!
Wow you are good! Never heard anyone explain music as you have. Great
Smartest analysis ever. And the high-pitched male singer, Mitch Grassi -- there's got to be some Italian with that last name!)
They end a lot of their songs sotto voce these days. I think you'd love their interpretation of Can You Feel The Love from The Lion King. It is quite the performance, with costumes included. ua-cam.com/video/cT1Kzk7akjQ/v-deo.html. (Extra bonus -- it has THREE key changes!)
Thank you Joe for you comment!
Kirstin isn`t half - Italian. Her mother is Spanish-Italian and father is Mexican.
I hope you continue listening and reacting to them, and I'm SO glad your opinion changed by listening to this song. ;-)
Thank YOU DeborahSTL, for your comment...very appreciated!
Thank you, Kristina!!!
Thank you so much for the Subs and for your very detailed reaction. Looks like you really enjoyed them. Enjoy this Rabbit Hole because, like the Dimash one, it's worth it! =)
Thank you, Anjalena!!!
I LIKE THIS GUY! Best reactor! I watch a lot of music coaches reactions, but yours has to be the best. Not only are you discussing the techniques but the emotions and feelings of the song! Love it. Bravo!
GRAZIE!!!
Thank you for a professional rewiev. I took singing lessons when I was young, and just as some of the others, I watched others reactions and rewievs before, just for fun. Really nice to hear a professional who really goes in to details. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, Ingemo!!!
I adore your reviews. The way you interpret each note, and explain the journey of the music is just a good as hearing them sing. It brings a new awareness and takes me to another level when listening. Not to mention you're handsome and that accent....YES! keep doing what you do. You have a gift.
Amazing Grace is magnificent, very emotional. Love your reaction🎶🎶🎶💕💕
Thank you Rebecca!
Loved how you really listen to every note and explain it so eloquently. Thank you.
Thank you very much, CO1850!
Hi Roberto, very beautiful reaction and yes they are so incredible and another of my favorites is Mary did you know and amazing grace, but everything they do is out of this world!!!!! Keep reacting I greatly look forward to you experiencing music take care see you in the next video.
Thank you SO much, Kerry!!!
They have given me many hours of pleasurable listening.
.
Thank you, Jean!!!
Thank you SO much, Jean!!!
Kathleen, thank YOU for your kind words and support!!!
I think this is one of my favorite reactions to this video, even having to read sub-titles. Love it. More Pentatonix please? Maybe Amazing Grace next?
Thank you, Angie!!!
Mille grazie!!! This is the most beautiful and intense reaction to ptx ever! Thank you! Greetings from Germany!
Thank you VERY much, Britta!!!
You make me like reading captions. I find your review/reaction excellent. So comprehensive and exposes me to different aspects of their performance. Also, I love Kevin. His contribution is often overlooked because he's not the voice. You've gained a subscriber. :)
Thank you VERY much, bella!!!
Thank you VERY much, Darsynia. Your kind words and encouragement are truly appreciated!!! Roberto.
Che bello finalmente trovare reazioni (e che reazioni) italiane ai Pentatonix! Spero che tu riesca a farne molte altre, anche per poter meglio apprezzare tutti i "tecnicismi" che, senza il tuo commento, non saprei cogliere. Complimenti davvero!
Grazie tantissime, Paola!!!
Wonderful reaction! I really enjoyed seeing your emotional response and well as the technical breakdown of this song. Subscribed for more Pentatonix reactions.
Thank you VERY much, pughead2!
Thank You for this wonderful reaction and analysis. It seems that every aspect of this performance was addressed in a way that I appreciated and learned from. I look forward to your reactions!
Thank you, Angela!!!
Thanks for helping me appreciate them even more by realizing mentally what I’ve previously only felt.
Thank YOU, GMark!!!
I Absolutely love your reactions. Your PASSION and JOY for the human voice(instrument) is infectious!! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and love for music!!!
Thank YOU, larry!!!
I love how poetic this guys descriptions of sound and imagery are
Thank you, Adrian!!!
Wow, this was such a detailed and thought provoking reaction! Thank you! I've watched this video so many times and you have given me fresh insights and a new understanding of some of the nuances of their process. I look forward to more of your reactions!
Glad to hear that! Thank YOU, S Lane!!!
Great reaction and thanks for the subtitles. I think you need to do more Pentatonix some examples Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, Daft Punk and Amazing Grace
Thank you Jo!!!
Thank you VERY much, Marti!!!
New subscriber. Thank you so much for this reaction. The depth of your analysis allowed me to better understand the complexity and perfection that is PTX and took my appreciation of their talents to an entirely new level. I look forward to listening to more of your videos.
Thank you VERY much, Carla, glad you can appreciate them even more!
I love your reactions
Thank you, Whitney!!!
Thank you VERY much, Lyrical Love!!!
You have put into words what I am feeling with this song - thank you for your insight and reaction (oh and for the English subtitles)! This is the first time visiting your channel (I am a PTX fan).
Thank you Jo-Anne!!!
Thank you SOO much, Rowena!!!
I wish you had been born 50 years earlier. My singing career might have gone somewhere if I had had a teacher like you.
Another outstanding reaction/review. It was full of insight and did more than just tell me it was fire. Excellent!
Thank you soo much, Charles!!!
That’s such a detailed, powerful reaction to an incredibly well done song. Thank you.
Dee Jay, thank you VERY much!!!
Thank you for such an amazing reaction! I loved your analysis of PTX. They are the whole package!
Thank you Robin!!!
The best reaction I've ever heard. Wow. The feelings I have but cannot describe in words. You can do it. Simply great.
I love their cover of Halleluja, come along and bohemian rhapsody.
Thank you VERY much, Miss D. D.!!!
