    Hi. Thanks for the video. My Camera takes 1 minute videos. How can I adjust settings to create more shooting time?

    Thanks for the video! I have the EM10Mii and I am finding focusing a little bit of a pain when shooting video. I had the first EM10 and I swear I could change focus points very quickly while shooting video (via touch screen or 1/2 press of shutter) but with the markii I cant seem to get it to change focus points while I am shooting video.

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  7 років тому

      +liono1787 that happened to me once and I could not work out why. I did a reset to default on the camera settings the it started working again. It must have something to with the focus mode or touch screen mode. So I can confirm that I get smooth transition focus when I touch the screen during video recording using the em10 mark 2

      It may not be adjustable in Auto mode. So try going to Aperture Mode or shutter Priority or Manual Mode. Then adjust ISO

    Hello, I am very much a beginner and would like to film my group fitness class. Bright room, blue and grey walls with no windows. What would be the best setting for something like that?

    if I'm using 60% for video and 40% for photography, I should choose olympus E-M10 III or panasonic g85?

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  6 років тому +4

      Now that the OMD EM 10 Mark III has 4K video it is a contender in that battle. The G85 is larger and more like a DSLR. The OMD is a nice compact shooter and is great for travel and street work and has the retro look and feel. However the G85 is closer to a studio or production camera and may give you slightly better results with the right lenses for both still and video.

    Hi
    You are showing that you are using the dial for changing the video mode(A, M or S), but as I know when pressing the video button in picture mode, the camera will use the default video mode, so have you changed the default video mode before pressing the video button ?

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  5 років тому

      For me it uses he setting I select on the dial in video mode. So I can use the dial at the top to move between A,S and P modes when shooting video.

    Since i have this camera, I always have this problem i would like someone to help me with this, is the Video Settings okay so my camera is on Manual mode I have my ISO,APPERTURE and Shutter speed set, but when i started recording video, it automatically starts shooting the video in Auto mode without obeying my video setting orders, this camera only records auto? because the only thing i can move is the light compensation

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  4 роки тому

      use the menu button on the back of the camera and go to fourth settings with a cog wheel icon click on it and use the down arrow button to navigate down until you get to the Movie menu item, click on it and change the mode from P to M. Now when you go into movie mode it should default to manual....

    Thanks for your great video series on the Olympus OMD EM10 Mark ii. It helped me to decide getting this as my first camera. Some people at saying to ditch the kit lens. I was looking to get just the body, then buy the M.Zuiko 40-150mm lens f/4-5.6. Can this be a good idea for an everyday use lens?

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  5 років тому

      I quite like the kit lens, mostly because of the size and weight, makes the camera very compact for location and travel. However some of their other lenses are possibly a little sharper. The 40-150mm however could be a little long for everyday use. With Micro 4/3 40mm around 2X magnification of the focal length. So the starting point of 40mm is around 80 -85mm. So its quite a long lens that you would use for close up portraits or bringing in distant objects. It would not be suitable for interior shots, or even doing portraits in tight interior spaces. So it would be a good add on lens but you also need a wider lens starting at 14 or 24mm to cover all bases. The kit lens has a great range and represents good value.

    • @peternumber19
      @peternumber19 5 років тому

      I tried a few lenses and the 14-150mm is my all purpose favourite although it's a bit heavy and long and at 1:4 isn't that fast. The 14-42 kit lens takes a good shot but has a powered zoom which I can't see the point of.

    Hi and thanks for your helpful tips! How do you enable the exposure light meter during movie mode-M? I can't find it anywhere!

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  6 років тому

      Hi there, I think it should appear, on the screen depending on what mode you are on. Try in manual mode. If you can’t see it you may have to access menu item D at the back and you should be able to add from there.

    • @alexiacovou8144
      @alexiacovou8144 6 років тому

      Touch Technology Review Thanks for your reply. I'm mostly using Manual Mode (movie gear). I guessed the option would be either in menu option "D" or "I". There I can check/uncheck histogram, level gauge, image stabilizer, picture mode etc but not the exposure light meter..

    How do you deal with automatic metering? Do you also have trouble with focussing during shots? I can't use the focus wheel during shots. Of course it's all set to manual mode, but it seems like the software does not support essential filming features...

    • @Touchtechnologyreview

    hi, thanks so much for the sharing! I just bought this camera in August and played the videos shot before now...... It's not what I expected. The resolution is similar with the one I got 7 years ago, Canon s95. May I know if there is a better camera in the performance of video shooting? I am so pissed and disappointed now. :(

      Hi there, thanks for checking out the video. The OMD EM 10 Mark II shoots at 1920 by 1080 and has a number of different settings. To make sure you get the best quality make sure you choose the SF (Super Fine) picture setting in the Movie settings option, This sets it to the highest bit rate using IPB Compression. I use MOVFHDSF50. Having said that if you want better video you may need to look at some newer cameras. I think that the Canon DSLR's such as the 5D Mark IV, 6D Mark II due to their use of the full frame sensor shoot better video especially in low light. There is also the Sony A7 which is known for its high quality video, again in low light..... If you like the Olympus for its size and retro appearance like I do, then you could take a look at the new OMD EM 10 Mark III which now shoots 4k Video. This came out late last year. The resolution may be better but I have a feeling that what you are referring to is not a resolution issue as such, but more related to the dynamic range that is always going to be inferior in a small sensor. Anyway try adjusting the video settings which can be found in menu item 1 in the picture setting option, just under the Picture Mode menu item and see how it goes.

    I do the captures but I do not know how to put together for the time lapse....can you help me?

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  6 років тому +1

      The OMD does have a mode which you can select in the time lapse settings to automatically create a video file once the time lapse is done. However you can get a higher quality look if you import the individual frames into a video editing program and make the time lapse your self. I''ll try to get a video topic on this done on the channel and I'll let you know when its released.

    Is syncing the video from the camera to audio from an external recorder a straight forward process? I was wondering if you have to use time code settings or a clapperboard?

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  6 років тому

      Using time code can be helpful and certainly a clapperboard allows you to use the clap to identify the start of the scene in each clip. Before the advances in software you had to use these methods but I am able to do it using the audio sync feature in Premiere which can identify the sounds in your file and match them up.So if you use Adobe Premiere it will be quite easy. See my tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/GCrPbtBbfmU/v-deo.html

    If I wanted to shoot in slow motion what would I have to change/do to achieve that? Thnx!

    • @Touchtechnologyreview
      @Touchtechnologyreview  6 років тому +1

      You have to go into menu category 1, then scroll down to the sub menu option below picture mode that has an diamond like shape. This is where you can set your still image and video spec. Navigate into the Mov option and scroll down to the bottom and you can shoot at High Speed 120fps. However the quality is not full HD on the OMD EM 10 mark II. If you select one of the 60FPs options you can shoot in Full HD and then use a video editor to slow down. This is the only option you have if you want full HD Slow motion on this camera.

    • @Jettsalinas
      @Jettsalinas 6 років тому

      Touch Technology Review Awesome! I’ll check it out, I’ll try both. Hopefully with the 60fps I can still get a smooth slow motion when I edit later on. Thank you!

    I rencently got this camera and I have a question. Does it have flat profile or something like that? I looked in whole menu but I didn't found anythinki like that. I like to have a full control of my colour adjusting in davinci.

      For Video I suggest a couple of things. 1 go to the menu setting and look for the movie mode and make sure that move effect is turned off. Then in the Picture Mode menu make sure it is set to Neutral.

      Hi there, I posted a follow up to this one recently. You can view it here: ua-cam.com/video/8VGfM6jZGRU/v-deo.html. I. don't notice any humming from this camera. However there is a fair bit of white noise and certainly echo for face to camera type recording with the internal mic. So I use the H1 external recorder independent of the camera then sync in post production.

    Sorry to be here again, but I have looked around and tested the setting that you show being in picture mode and start video recording, it does not seem to make a difference.
    A Rob Trek ua-cam.com/video/YgYJn6YJMyg/v-deo.html 0,56 in the video he says that what ever picture mode you are in and start video recording, it will go direct to P mode of video recording.
    How do you see the difference if it works as you say ?
