I’m sorry, what? Try to ignore the ignorant trolls. Your English is fantastic. Thank you for the very informative and helpful videos and for taking the time to put everything together for us.
Thanks Peter. Don’t worry about those commenting on your English. As an English teacher I can tell you that, yes, you do make the odd grammatical ‘error’ here and there. However, there are far more non-native English speakers, than native. So who does English belong to? Nobody. It is, and always has been an evolving language. The most important thing is communication, and your's is crystal clear. It’s great that you want to improve, but don’t worry about those people who nitpick on a channel with excellent free advice. You owe us nothing!
All the best.
Your English is great! Be who you are.
I have some Finnish friends and your accent reminds me of them! Never change that.
Hey Peter,
I live in the U.S. and I can assure you that your use of english far exceeds many of my fellow citizen’s abilities to express themselves. Particularly when it comes to a solid and knowledgeable vocabulary.
The most important thing is this - thank you so very much for your informative and educational videos. I’m new to digital photography and was feeling quite lost until your work popped up on UA-cam.
Please continue your excellent work and try to ignore the hurtful morons who seek only to spoil everyone’s party.
Keep being you!
Thanks.
Couldn't care less about ironed shirts sir. Great job on consistently well though out and useful content
Don’t let people like that bring you down, you make great videos and what makes you happy is whats important!
Good lord---your English is truly excellent. And your tips are very helpful. Thank you for all these videos.
Don't worry about your English (it's fine), and don't worry about your clothes, Peter; those who watch your videos do so for the great work and commentary you provide us with, and the tips and information you share. I've just recently purchased the OMD-EM10 ii, and have found your videos most helpful in helping me navigate through the extensive menus that Olympus provides with even this "entry level" camera. I was an OM user back in the 70's and '80's and loved using Olympus gear; it was and is so compact and easy to use and carry around, so encouraged me to shoot photos. Lost the time and desire to shoot in the late 90's and the early 2000's, but got interested in the Micro four thirds systems by seeing an ad for this camera at a great price. So I bought one and found that there's a whole new world of photography just waiting in the digital world, and I have rediscovered my love for photography. Thank you for helping an old hand get a new lease on photographic life with your great videos and channel. Keep up the great work!!!
Videos, English, dress, and information are absolutely perfect. I applaud the 10 minute or so segments so that information overload does not occur.
The length is a good point. Too much info can be an overload.
I second the other comments - I have no issues with your English or the condition of your shirts. Two of your videos about settings for the Olympus M10 Mark 2 have been invaluable to me as a new owner. Keep up the great work.
Thank you.
3:35 I've also got LSF on my EM10 mark iis. Super Fine. Not sure if it was in the original firmware but I've got it. Selectable from Menu -> cogs -> G -> funny little diamond symbol with pixels at the right of it... 'Set.' -> Gives you the 4 resolution options to edit.
Underneath that, you can also define what the M and S resolutions are to be in 'pixel count'.
Then in the shotting menu, the LSF optiin comes up. Also on the super comtrol panel or screen or any otjer way you select it. You can then have LSF, LF, LN and MSF for instance and any of those plus RAW or just RAW on its own.
Three years later and I'm still grateful for your content. You make great videos with a lot of detailed information. Your English is excellent and not distracting at all. Thank you for this video and your dedication to teaching and informing viewers.
Wow, thank you!
Your English is on-par with native speakers and your accent is quite pleasant, it’s not often you hear English with Finnish undertones. As for the outfits, if someone is paying more attention to your clothes than the superb lessons you give, they’re probably the same people who “upgrade” cameras to get a better picture. Don’t sweat them because you, sir, are doing a wonderful job. I’ve just found your channel because I have always used Nikon DSLRs but I needed something extremely lightweight to take on my hikes and I ended up with the E-M10 Mk2. It is absolutely beautiful and I think I mainly fell for it because my dad had an Olympus film camera that looked just like it but after watching your videos and playing with it, I absolutely LOVE this little bugger. Thank you for doing what you do!
Thank you.
Accent complainers are probably Americans who have little experience outside of their own culture and think American English is the norm. 94% of the world's population are not Americans.
That’s crazy that anyone would care about dress code. I’m just happy that you make these videos. I just bought a OM-D EM-10 MK2 and I am happy to have someone walk me through good advice to use my new camera! Pay no attention to those that complain about petty things.
Thanks for the support.
I have recently purchased a Olympus mark 3 and came across your channel today. Can't wait to watch your videos! I'm a beginner photographer
Great to hear and a good choice for a camera.
@@ForsgardPeter I bought it very very cheap so I'm very happy. Could you recommend to me good telescopic lenses please
40-150mm lenses , Pro and non pro-version and then there is the 75-300mm.
Hi Peter, still watching your videos in 2021 and they are so helpful to get the most of my camera! Thanks so much
I got my OMD EM10 Mkii today for £200, it was an ex demo and since I don’t know much about photography I thought this would be a decent starter camera, since I won’t be able to justify the £200 price difference (new) with my amateur photos
Thank you for your videos about the camera and your English is impeccable.
Most helpful and informative video I’ve found on this camera (along with your others of course) I think your English is very good! If anyone says anything about your English, just ask them how well their Finnish is. Americans judge people if they don’t speak English perfectly, but most of us don’t even know a second language.
I've used my em10ii for 4+years. I'm shocked that there are still some features I have never used before. Big thanks!
Peter. I'm purchasing a oem 10 mk 2 and you videos have helped me immensely with this choice...thank you
Great to hear!
Thank you so much. I switched to Olympus from Nikon and was beginning to wish I hadn’t. A different animal altogether. Your information and the way you have shown it, was very clear and concise, and what is more important, understandable.
Thank you. What have been the most difficult thing after switching?
Peter Forsgård I think learning a new system. Getting to grips with the four thirds as applied to using a normal DSLR camera with normal lenses. Getting my head round new ways is somewhat difficult for me, nowadays. My brain, at seventy eight, is somewhat lacking in clarity.
I'm interested in content not dress code or perfect English. Your channel is great. Thanks! Tak?
Completely agree! Thank you for stating it so well.
Exactly!
Yes. Nice sweater though.
Congrats! Your video and your English is very good! 😊 👍
Your content is extremely helpful. Thanks for producing it and keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Awesome Videos man!!!! Authentic actual care and help, you enable others to be better at the art you love. the quality of information and expertise conveyed is above and beyond. Thank you!
Thanks. Great to hear.
Yes you vídeos have a lot of values thanks to share your knowledge
Thank you very much. I am glad that I can help.
Your awesome dude! I’m a newbie and I have learned so much from your videos. Keep it up please. I’m from Texas and find your speech very easy to understand and quite entertaining in fact.
Awesome thank you!
Thanks mate. This is my first time with a micro 4/3 and you are extremely helpful. Cheers!
You are welcome! Cheers.
Thank you Peter for making these very helpful videos .
Thank you so much Peter for the valuable info, i have this camera for a long time yet i didnt know about most of these settings you explained.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video peter ! Thanks so much. Your English is great and I love your cardigan. All the best from
Australia.
Many thanks!
I found the video very helpful, practical , clear and informative . I love the concept of tips to improve the capabilities of both the camera and also me !!
Thanks. Glad it was helpful!
Dear Peter,
I'm Mexican and English is not my native language. I can understand every single word you say. Your English is perfect!
On the other hand, I'm a Canon user but bought a cheap second hand OM-D E-M10 Mark II because size is so appealing and I'm trying to learn more about that camera and the whole MFT system. Sadly, every single picture I take with the camera is blurry and shaky. So I do have bad settings or a defective camera (or lens) which I doubt. I'm not a pro just a hobbyist and I am not a good photographer but I'm not that bad to have all blurry images so I need to figure out how to make out the best of my camera and your videos are key to achieve that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Really hard to say what the problem is. Have you checked what shutter speed is used on those shaky images?
I’m an Australian and our native language is English. There is a vast difference between British and American English. Nothing wrong with your interpretation … and I would suspect that the knockers have as much ability with Finnish as I do, none. Dress code here is pretty laid back, no problems with that either. Good presentation.
Nonsense trolls ? Forget them.. i have a omd em10 ii and i am still learning new stuff, thank you for that, sir. Keep up!
Thank your videos. I’ve had my olympus omd e-m10ll camera for a while and with your videos I’m learning so much more! You are greatly appreciated for taking the time out to make these.
Thank you. What are the things you like to photograph the most?
I'm an photography enthusiast living in Espoo. I dont own an Olympus but I am a HUGE fan of the brand and hope that I might be able to afford it one day. I just want to say: Thank you for the video! It was very interesting and informative. I also learnt a lot about Helsinki! The city is amazing and beautiful. I look forward to more of your videos. Nähdään!
Thank you! How long have you lived in Finland?
@@ForsgardPeter i have lived here since August 2016 and Finland still surprise me with its beauty
Just discovered your channel by chance and it's great. Just subscribed also. Your English is better than a lot of people born here in the U.S. I wonder how many Americans could learn Finnish.
Thank you. Learning Finnish is not very useful for many US citizens, but leaning english in Finland is a must. Motivation driven by "we have to" makes wonders.
Thank you so much for what you do, after watching your videos I’m so much happier with my camera purchase and learning so much from you... Helsinki looks beautiful 😁
Thank you.
You are doing great do not worry about speaking English as long we understand ok.
Hi Peter! Take it from an American living in Finland... your English is excellent (and massively better than my Finnish :))! Ignore the stupid comments (and people). THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge and passion for photography. Your content is fantastic - just subscribed. Happy to buy you a cup of coffee if I ever see you around Helsinki!
Thanks.
@@ForsgardPeter I just picked up the OM-D E-M10 Mark II at a great price with the Macro lens included! Excellent replacement for my old E-520, and will do all the video work I need, too. Could you recommend where to get classes on photography in the Helsinki area (preferably in English because my poor Finnish would slow down the entire class)?
Very helpful video! I’ve owned my mk2 for about a year now and didn’t even know you could change the dial and button functions. Your english is fine btw
Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise. Great info. Also, the accent is awesome.
Thank you.
There seems to be a glitch around 3:05 - no link to raw settings? Are you going to talk about them as well?
New to Olympus. Great video with lots of information to begin learning my camera gear. Looking forward to putting into practice. Will definitely be checking out more of your content. Thank you for your time!
Thank you. Anything you want me to make a video about?
Made the switch to Olympus and Micro 4/3 (from Nikon) about a month ago. In the process of learning new menu and settings. Have been loving it so far. Not sure what to ask for yet, browsing your channel. If I don’t see something I will definitely ask.
Just got a Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II looking forward to implementing your advice, thanks !
Great!
Thanks so much..it's really help me...
I like all your videos!! Very useful! Thank you,so much!
Thank you. Glad you like them!
As a small tip, you can set the camera to L SF for JPEGs. Go to setting menu G, and change it in the "Set" submenu. This means you'll have even less compression! :)
Yes, the default is L for some reason. SF is better.
Loving these videos, I just ordered this camera last night moving up from my 12+ year old digital Rebel.
Thank you and congrats for your new camera! How does it feel? Have you had time to use it yet?
Thank you Peter! A lot of good advises this time.
A great camera. IBIS is the way to go for video. I keep waiting for the EM10 Mk III to come out. Thanks for the video. It is appreciated.
Excellent thanks for the help I’ve been slowly using that feature I have the e-m5 but now I’m on it a lot more thanks sir
Thanks for your channel and don't worry about your accent, mine is definitely worse. And special thanks for not only talking about photography and technic but also giving some insides about your motives, the location and history. Thats really great content! I hope I'll have the chance to come back to Helsinki sometimes. All the best from Hamburg!
Great vid...and no problem at all with your English!!!!
Thanks.
Thank you very much. This video was very much appreciated and was enlightening to me. I am now looking at my Mark II less fearfully. Thanks again.
Thank you.
Сколько же у тебя тушек,, олимпус,,??? Вижу, что любишь,, Олимпус,,! Молодец!!! Спасибо.
I have just watched your very well produced video in good English. Everything you said makes good sense. I came across this as I am looking to use an Olympus OMD EM10 Mk 2 as an alternative to my rather heavy E5 four thirds. Great video.
Thanks.
On my EM5 MKII I have also shifted the AF function from the shutter button (half press) to the button on the front used originally for DOF preview.
Whenever I leave the front dial for exposure comp, I inadvertently change it too often without realizing it, so I set the depth of field preview button so I have to push it before the dial will work. I don’t mind the two step process.
Your English is great, and your shirts are fine.
Thanks.
your English is great and so as your videos :)
Love your videos! Super useful!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! Very very useful video!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this tutorial. It really helped me.
Great to hear!
It's funny, your the second to mention to put the exposure comp dial on the back one. I had been using the front one but realized I am learning backwards and any camera that has a dedicated exposure comp dial is on the back, so I changed that.
For the turn of the dial, when I turn my finger or thumb to the right, it increases the f/stop, faster shutter and brighter exposure. That seems natural to me.
Thats what I like about Olympus. It has a lot of possibilities to customize the dials and buttons. Its good to know what you can customize and then choose the way you like it!
You suggest setting the JPEG quality to L/F ? Why not set it to the highest quality of L/SF (Super fine) ?
Great video..... You and Rob Trek have the best Olympus videos on you tube hands down !!!!!! To your credit your videos are very professionally done, and I am impressed with your command of English seeing that it is not your native language. Question, can the "my set" settings be accessed from the "super control panel" ? Or, do I have to go to the menu every time to pick a different "my set" for different settings I may have made ? Thanks BILL
No, it seems that Super Panel does not have that option.
You can assign your myset to the function buttons. custom menu B, button/dial
Thank you! Great information!
Glad it was helpful!
Peter, I always enjoy your videos and learn a lot from your experience shooting with Olympus. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge in such a clear and down to earth way!
Thanks for making this!
Oh God, we want other video about EM 5 Mark II ♥️
Its in the making. I will post it in the beginning of January.
Peter Forsgård Great, Great! Maybe you have an opinion about the HLD-8 grip. On the internet there are not many.
Great video Peter, thank you!
Thank you for this helpful video. I am not able to find Myset 1 at 8:34.. what menu is it under?
It is found in Shooting Menu 1, titled "Reset/Myset"!
Can you do a video for the setting for action pictures? Example, eagles flying by. PLEASE (mark III)
Good Vlog Peter.
Thanks a lot.Now Your channel is even better, because of text.
Glad to hear that and thanks.
I guess these tips can apply to the Mark III model, hopefully? Thanks!
Yes. The menu system is a bit different, but not that much.
thanks alot....its really help me
Some good tips here, I have to check my Pen F (I should have it there too). Auto ISO for manual mode was news to me!
Great tips. Thanks!
Thank you!
Great video once again Peter but you say these settings are for JPEG can you do a video for RAW settings for the OM-D E-M10 mkII
Great content, you should do a video on lenses, and lens filters for 4/3 cameras
There is s video named what lens should you get next. Lens filters are not covered in that video.
Nice vids! if i may, i would add some background music to create sort of a background atmosphere
thank you ☺️
Great video and thank you for sharing :)
Nice Video and thanks for all this tips !
Some options you show in your video are inaccessible for my e-m10 mark ii, do you know how to unlock them ?
Thank you
You happen to have some special modes on, like HDR?
Hola Pedro, esta configuración sirve para la OM-D E-M10 Mark III??
gracias
The same settings work with the MKIII version also.
@@ForsgardPeter gracias
Very helpful. I have one question though that I just can't work out. In Manual settings I can not find how to change my iso. When I click ok I can see iso is at 200 and I thought moving the dial would let me change it however it doesn't. Do you know how I can change it? Would be very much appreciated!!
Check that you have set ISO-Auto to All in the special menu E. It is the last option in the menu.
@@ForsgardPeter I have changed it to that however I am wanting to manually change the iso myself. Both option in E however seem to have it stuck on 200
It is really hard to say what is wrong if the Auto-ISO is set to All.
Thank you kindly sir
Hi Peter. First your English is great, so don't worry about. Second, I had a Canon EOS 1000D that I used for years with just my prime 50mm lens. Ever since I discovered that lens I never took it off. I mainly shoot street photography. Long story short, one day my Canon was full of fungus and I lost the camera. Recently I bought a Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II with the 14-42mm kit lens. Is this a good lens for street photography, or should I invest in a different lens? If so what would you recommend? Thank you for your help.
It is ok for street photography. I would also look for a fast prime lens to go with that. The 12mm f2.0 or the 17mm f1.8. Since you liked the 50mm in your Canon, either one of the 25mm lenses that Olympus have could also be an option.
@@ForsgardPeter Thank you for the reply. What about settings, besides the ones you suggested? Somehow I've been having trouble because the camera feels slow to take pictures, and the pictures always have lots of noise, because the auto-iso always uses a high ISO, I have it capped at 6400. I don't know how to better explain it. I'm not sure if it's just me being used to my old Canon 1000D, or if I just haven't setup the settings right on the camera. Thanks again for the help.
Thank you!
I thought it would be similar, but one specific to the EM5 mk 2 would be appreciated
On the number 11 this one did not give me the option of my set also I was not able to change the Fn1 to the AEL/AFL setting I followed your steps.
I will check that out.
hello .... is the battery warm when using the Olympus OMD em10 ii. ???? is this an affliction of this model ??? or any defect.
The battery gets a bit warm if the camera is used for a long time. If it is really hot then it might be defected.
Good travel info.
Legend ! That’s all I’ll say to you my friend!
Thanks.
Can't believe people considered your English could be better? I'm a Canadian born speaker of what we would call Canadian English and here in Vancouver we hear it all. Your's is only noteworty because it's just fine. I can tell you're thinking in English as well as pronouncing very well. After all I'm sure Finnish was a language before English. LOL>
How do I shut off the camera sounds? For silent shooting. Focus and shutter.
I have read the manual and watched videos but I cannot find the secret settings.
E-M10 mark11
You just choose the Silent Shooting mode from the Super Control Panel. It is the one with the heart.
@@ForsgardPeter
Thanks for your reply -- but I dont understand where the Super Control Panel is
maybe you could do a slow video step by step?
Thanks.
@@ForsgardPeter
iI did find the settings. It is silent now. Thank you.
