There are some advices I can add. Especially for beginners.
1. Do not use small needles, unless you work in smaller area, use big curved mag like 11 or 13 etc, and use 0.25mm or 0.30mm sizes. With smaller mags you end up patchy or overdamaged skin. Use the size according the size of area you need to cover. Also the smaller needle the less deep you can and need to go as there is less skin resistance, with bigger mags you don't need to be afraid to go deeper (but it will come with experience)
2. Never use vaseline when you color packing, I would advice not to use it at all in any area you will tattoo. I use only on area that already done so that blood doesn't dry and easy to wipe ink etc
3. For solid color use circular motion and if you need gradient then on the edge of 2 colors use swinging motion. Swinging motion mostly used for greywash inks, it still can work but it will take so much time to saturate the skin, the faster you do the tattoo - the faster it heals and less ink goes out.
4. It wasn't mentioned or I am just a plonk, but in area you color packing you need to make ink flood - so it looks like swimming pool, a big puddle of ink (learn how and why ink goes under skin, there are great tutorial - "how ink really gets into the skin, tattoo psysics")
There is no one way to Tattoo, thanks for your comment. If you feel so strongly about the ways you suggest than I think you should make a video.
@@Qinks when I will be less busy tattooing and making jewelry, I probably will.
Till then I am giving extra advices for everyone who reads it. I have many healed tats and I know what I am talking. Everyone have their own style and way. And the more advices you get and try the better.
Never said you didn’t know what you are talking about, you said the same thing I did. Everyone’s advice will be different, so if your first words are “a few issues with the tutorial” that leads me to believe otherwise.
@@Qinks sorry, I have problems with explaining things, especially is not my native language and apperantly reading. I misread is no one instead "is no way to tattoo" .
Ahh I see, well thanks for explaining that. And sharing your thoughts!
Thanks for the concise yet informative video!
Short simple and to the point , thanks man 👍
well done my friend. i think you really explained it to a degree anyone learning can understand.
Thank you very much!
When doing graduation you can also use foundation flesh to blend colors. Ive found its an even smoother transition then fanning in white
i appreciate your content, for sure
Regardless of the number of views or subscribers, good information explained clearly is the best.
Well said!
Great video, thank you for sharing! 🙏
Thanks! Thank you for watching!
Slow small circles are your friend. When I started I rushed it myself, looks good for a bit but then the imperfections show through.

Lol definitely can be scary, glad to help!
Nice tip with the 6-8 seconds 👍 can you do a video how far you put the needle out (nohomo) when you’re riding the tube ?
@@Lumpdadabubub I’ll put the needle out for you, you can ride my tube ;)
@@MikeOcksmallClips 🤣🤣🤣
Lmaooo I got you bro 😂
Nice Video! Do you always run your bishop packer at 6v for packing? And why?
Yes always, I find it easier to work at that pace.
Could you emphasize on this a bit bro. For example do you put dark colours on top of light or light on top of dark at times ? Also do you only solid pack colour or do you do something called glazing where you lightly brush a colour over another colour ? I've seen that technique used. Thanks
I do dark colors first! And I do solid packing and the brushing just depends on what I am trying to accomplish, the type of skin i’m working on and how short the transition to the next color is
@@Qinks some colours you can actually put light on top to soften the colour give a lighter tone sort of like when you put white on top of greys or healed black on a cover up. Then have to remember to hit your darks again but not overwork though because the light colours can be wiped into the dark areas. That's my experience anyways.
Nice 1.. Have more learning bro..im From philipines..!!
Thanks bro!
i use the same battery pack as you on my cheyenne sol nova. i’m a first year tattooer - but i think i might be running my machine too fast. what do you normally run yours at?
I run on 6 volts. Which stroke did you get? The 2.5, 3.5, 4.0 or 5.0?
@@Qinks i use a 3.5mm! thanks for replying so quick!
No problem, and okay! I personally like machines with longer stroke for my color packing and running a slow voltage with it. If you do mostly black n grey shading than at 6 to 6.5 volts for 3.5 stroke should be perfect
@Qinks do you have insta
Is it the same with a RS? Or is this for a mag
Can be similar but RS I find need a lot pore pressure than mags
❤❤❤❤❤
🖤🖤🖤🤘
Are you still in mesa Az my dude
Yessir, well actually in chandler now
Well shit man thanks lol
Lmao no problem
Discuss the toxic ink
Toxic ink?
You have some great and easily understandable tutorials, but seeing you rubbing the needle on the paper towel while the machine is running makes the hair stand up on my back! :) That's the easiest way to stab yourself (cross contamination, infection, unwanted finger tattoos, etc) plus paper dulls the needle like mad resulting in more skin damage, problems with packing ink and healing among other things.
Thanks but that Sounds like your personal experience. Been doing that for years, haven’t had any of those problems
@@Qinks I know, but there are also thousands of skydivers who never had any malfunctions until one day stuff hit the fan :) Anyways, thanks for the quick reply, don't get me wrong this wasn't an attack on your way of doing things and the information provided in the video is actually useful.
But otherwise you won't get rid of what is inside the cartridge, I do the same and there is no other option to do this while machine is not turn on.
Do you know why paper dulls points and blades so much?
Idk boss, if you're using the right gloves, a cart shouldn't puncture the glove unless you really try/wasn't paying attention
What kind of fake skin?????
