This guy is the Bob Ross of Vacuum Reviews...nice calming voice, and very knowledgeable about what he is using. Thanks for all the help in figuring out what kind of vacuum I needed.
Haha! Right?? "Oh look at those happy little dust bunnies under the bed, aren't they sweet. Let's go ahead and suck them up, just like that. Juuust like that. Yeah. Happy vacuuming, everybody."
I just bought the NV800C version of this vacuum. It only came with the pet multi tool and the crevice brush tool. Seems to work well and it’s quieter than I thought it would be.
FYI. The reason manufacturers make identical devices with different model numbers is so that customers cannot price-match between companies ...EG. Floormart will not pricematch their XYZ100 against Cheapvac who sell the identical XYZ101 for less money.
Thanks so much👍🏾This video helped me settle on the Shark NV803 after several battle & videos on vacuums from Bissell, Hoover & Almighty dyson. This series meets my everyday vacuum needs so stopped the search after found ur video😅Good work👍🏾
I have the NV801 and this is an amazing buy. I'm a very particular person and could not be any happier with it. Compact, easy to use, great quality, and the filtration is great. I do have dyson vacuum as well, and this Shark Vacuum is just as good or better in some ways and 1/2 the price.
I must have bought a lemon because when I press the liftaway button everything comes off the base including the handle pole and all attachments. There is no way to fit the handle pole into the base once everything comes off. So when it is taken apart on the 12:15 segment mine doesn't do that. Any suggestions?
Bought one and it didn't come with the pet hair tool. It's also heavier and more difficult to pull and lift than I expected. Even my daughter felt it was hard to use because of the weight etc.
The groove tool to clean the brush roller should have an embedded cutter in it. If you have a lot of hair it will not pull the hair out. You need to use a pair of scissors to cut the hair so the tool isn't really much good.
I see the ball-socket thing that is supposed to keep the hose attached to the upright tube is not working that well on yours either. It simply does not stay in that socket. Other than that, I love this vacuum so far. It really cleans the dust on hard floors. It's so great to be able to vacuum the wood floors under furniture and actually have all that dust cleaned up without using any other goofy attachments.
One of the selling points of this vacuum it it's ability to pick up large debris and large piles of debris. I'd like to see that tested as part of the pros for this unit. I'm sure that the Dyson2 would snowplow.
Very helpful. I agree with Josh Rivers comment completely. I bought mine yesterday (Memorial Day sales) and got it for $200 so shop around as prices can vary greatly. However, mine did not come with the micro fiber pad or the storage bag, and the review said they should have, so I will be looking into this.
i just got my shark nv 801 yesterday , on april 14th , 2019 . Used it right away ,loved led ligthts , liked that is narrow , easy to moove through and beetween the furniture. But it does not have brush wit the roll, and does not have a bag for tool storage.Vacuum cleaner was delivered in brown box, from sears, not in original box, and i am wondering if it a wrong model,or nv 801 does not have brush with the roll, and a storage bag,as i saw it in the video..? and it also said warranty 90 days only..
In the UK there two types NV801UK and NV801UKT the one that ends in a t is for true pet model it's 50 quid more for the tool in the box with Hoover or u buy NV801UK and psy 199 plus 20 and save 30 pounds for buying it on its own
Hi Aurelia. To be perfectly honest I only wear the shoes for the video. Just thought it looks better than me walking around in socks or slippers. We never wear shoes on the carpet otherwise. We just vacuum it every few days and we have a local carpet guy come in and clean it (he is quite reasonably priced) every year or so. We really like the white carpet but it can be a pain, as it stains pretty easily. I guess we are just quite careful. Wish I had some kind of secret formula or tricks I could tell you but nope.
It will be excellent if they include a strap or something so that you can carry the vacuuming part on your shoulder so that you can use it to vacuum your car.
Hey, which one would you recommend and if one is worth paying $50 extra over the other: Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum ZU561 vs Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum NV360? Thanks!
Hi Robert. Well that is strange. I absolutely have model NV801 myself (I just checked again to be sure) and these are the tools I got with it. I also have a snapshot of the tools and a description of what models come with what tools on my site: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/Shark-Vacuums/shark-nv801.html This data came directly from Shark about 1 year ago. However, I can see that you are correct now. If I go to the Shark site and check the tool sets for the NV801 and the NV803 they are different and are as follows: NV801 Under-Appliance Wand Pet Multi-Tool Duster Crevice Tool NV803 Under-Appliance Wand Pet Power Brush Pet Multi-Tool Duster Crevice Tool Accessory Bag Perhaps Shark changed this sometime over the past year? Not sure. Sorry if you did not get what you expected due to the video.

VacuumAdvisor ...I need your help as all these numbers are so confusing! My Sam’s Club has the DuoClean Powered Lift Away Model NV835 with a 7yr warranty for $229.95 right now and I’m wondering how it compares to these 2 & if you recommend it?
Hey Kat. We've actually done a detailed review of this vacuum on our site: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/Shark-Vacuums/shark-ionflex-cordless-vacuum-review.html And I am starting to work on the vids now. But it often takes me a while to get these done.
Hi there, I’m just wondering if the cleaning of this machine against the Dyson V11 is easier? As I found cleaning the Dyson V11 was a bit too much for me as I have disabilities? Great video, do you know who does video’s on Hoover vacuum cleaners by any chance?
Hi Michelle. Do you mean is it easier to clean with the NV801 than it is with the Dyson V11? If so, I actually find the V11 easier as it is cordless and only weighs about 6.7 lbs. The NV801 is corded and weighs over 14 lbs. With respect to Hoover vacuum review videos, I'm not sure.
The NV801 costs more than the DC41 mk2 in Europe. Is it a better machine than the Dyson? Need a replacement for my DC41 Animal which is about 6 years old now.
Drogheda Drones & Fun I'm not a professional, but in my experience the higher end Sharks will have superior cleaning compared to the Dyson, but require more filter maintenance and not have the same longevity. Expect to replace the Shark in three years.
Pickled Pickles Thanks mate. Think I might just get a Miele, I want something rugged that will last. The dc41mk2, nv801 and the c3 all cost the same. I want the best results on carpets
I wonder how long it'll be until some people make their own "Franken-Sharks"? From looking at them, it seems like there's a lot of parts compatibility between the NV65x, NV75x, and NV80x in the Lift-Away series. I'm curious as to just how kit-bashable they may actually be. (I wont be surprised when this starts happening to keep an older model going. They seem fairly solid for what they are.)
It's an interesting idea. We answered another question about compatibility between the NV801 and the NV682 while showing this: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/shark-nv682-nv801-hybrids.html
Hey Joe Joe. A very interesting question. We didn't know so we tried it out. It actually works. We've taken a photo of what both the NV682 and the NV801 look like with their parts swapped. You can see it on our site here: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/shark-nv682-nv801-hybrids.html
VacuumAdvisor Wow thanks! It just means I can upgrade the nozzle I have that needs a new brush roller. Shark won't sell it to you separately for my model. You have to buy the whole nozzle. But this will save me buying a new machine. And Shark sells the roller for those thankfully iirc.
We've got a review of the APEX up on our site: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/Shark-Vacuums/shark-APEX-duoclean-vacuum-review.html We'll be starting the video review soon.
Hi Amber. We've reviewed the vacuum on our site: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/Shark-Vacuums/shark-APEX-duoclean-vacuum-review.html I have every intention of getting up a video review of the APEX soon.
Hi Amber. Below the video above there is a link that takes you directly to the review for the NV801 on our website. You can also go to vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com and click on "Shark" in the left navigation to see all our Shark vacuum reviews if you want.
I bought this one and the Ionflex. So far I LOVE this vacuum. The Ionflex is a bit of a disappointment. It's simply too needy with filter cleanings as the cyclone and bin design suck.
I really like that you brought in the NV682 for comparison. For someone who already owns the NV682 (I like mine a lot), do you think it's worth upgrading to the NV801 / NV803 for the DuoClean feature?
I like the NV682 myself. I'm not sure I would do the upgrade, unless you really feel you need the ability of DuoClean Tech to engage stuck-on dust on your bare flooring.
Thanks for the input. I came across a pretty good sale on an NV803, but I think I'll stick with what I have for now. Your videos and responses to other questions were a big reason I decided on the NV682 about a year ago. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, your videos have been a great help. I just got the NV803 from Amazon for $189.99+tax (free prime shipping)... about $100 less than most other retailers (as of today, of course).
mr CHI Ho could tell me where you found it on amazon a link please if you will for the price of 189.99 .all i can find is for over 250 thanks for your help
Why don’t you tread the debris well into the carpet that is more of a real life situation especially if you have kids ..your test is just loose debris which tell you nothing..
Now show a real video with a properly dirty carpet with a day's pet hair on it. You sure would not do that just in case it did not pick up some items. The pet hair vacuum does NOT do what it says in the adverts as it clogs up at the protected end of the brush and you cannot get access to relieve the tension it causes, so it has to be stripped down (after paying 320 for special screw drivers) or you can leave it, so the motor burns out or the belt snaps. A good vacuum but depending on your pet hairs which get wrapped up in the brushes. No point telling Shark as they think their machine is perfect.

You didn't mention anything about it being a canister vac using the power brush to go under furniture
Great video. Does the new Apex have edge cleaning?
Really appreciate your work on these videos and reviews! So hard to find a perfect these days.
Does the bristle harm hardwood floors? Can you remove the bristle, leaving only the soft bristles(front) and vacuum without it?
thanks for your info
Love your videos, very helpful
