    One thing not mentioned is quality and longevity. Can't speak for the other models but I've gone through 2 Sharks in 4 years. I picked up a used Meile ands it's worked flawless for me so far. The build quality can't compare.

    I just bought a Sebo Felix the other day, and couldn't be happier. It also has a lift away mode as well, but you gave it no points. I paid $599 for the Sebo, not much more than the Dyson which you gave 15 points, but 0 to the Felix. You could have also given the Sebo extra points for its 10 year warranty. My last vacuum was a Shark, and it was awful with pet hair. I would constantly have to stop vacuuming to cut hair out of the roller. But the worst was it constantly getting clogged before it even made it until the dust bin. Maybe it was the model I had, but it was enough to keep me from ever buying a Shark again. If people think a Shark is better than a Sebo, they clearly have never used one.

      Is your Felix bagged? I am pretty sure Performance Reviews does testing on particulates and even though the Hepa filter is on a shark they often leak around that hepa. Performance reviews has tested a lot of sharks and won't give them a pass for that reason. Plus you don't have to worry about the dust bin dust cloud every time you empty it because you have it all bagged. How easy is taking the Felix roller out for cleaning?

    Pet hair doesn't just sit on the floor waiting to be vacuumed! A real pet owner knows that pet hair is like a needle and weaves its way into carpets, sofas and anywhere else it seems to land!

      @@VacuumWars Tests vs. Real world is always a factor, but I think you all tried to be fair. As a central vac owner, I'm all about upgrading that rather than getting a noisy heavy thing to push around. Although I'm not in the market for anything vacuum related, I appreciate the technology. A good CV is like a hot rod, you can accessorize it however you want, upgrade the motor power, etc.... and that's my style.

      Good catch. I have three Dyson's The DC27 pet, the DC28 pet and the DC25 pet. The DC25 is the easiest to push as its a Ball style with freshly cleaned filters on thick rug but the DC27 pet & DC28 pet get ridiculous hard to push & pull with freshly cleaned and not so clean filters on any rug but the DC28 pet is by far the worst. I've sent it in to Dyson for repair and a week later it became the biggest waste of money. It has to be a design issue. Heres the kicker I have my grandmother's 1929 Hoover upright and eventhough it doesn't have a HEPA filter it out performs all three of my Dyson's for it age. Lol Hoover still has some parts available.

    I have to give a huge "THANK YOU!!" to this channel for helping us decide what vacuum we should get. We love our Shark Navigator but after a few too many falls down the stairs and children stepping on the chord while vacuuming it was time to replace and upgrade. We have four cats, two of whom shed A LOT and needed a vacuum that would handle everything we needed it to handle. We ended up getting the Shark Apex Power Lift Away with Zero M. We love this thing! We also lucked out as we got a free bonus with the motorized pet brush. Our living room carpet looks revitalized already. Thanks for all your help.

    I love my Shark vacuum. I am sharing this with you because I used to not care about my vacuum but I bought a Shark Navigator a few years back, I accidentally dropped it and a small plastic piece broke that allows the vacuum to swivel. I called the company to see if I could buy a replacement part but instead they paid for me to ship the vacuum back to them and sent me a new one. I could not believe they did that for me because it was my fault I broke it but they said it was more important to them that I have a great vacuum that is not broken even if it was my error that caused it to break. I have been a loyal customer since that moment not just because of their customer service but because they have great products. I now own 3 Shark vacuums one for each floor of my home, my oldest vacuum is used in my basement, my rotator upstairs and my duo clean on the main floor. I would have to say I love the duo clean the most because it picks up anything with the dual rollers and it is so lightweight. FYI Update. Now, I even bought the newest shark IQ robot vacuum with self empty and wow do I love that thing. My floors are always clean, it is expensive but worth every penny.

    I am so glad I found your channel! I just posted a rant to my friends with a link after seeing an ad for the Shark APEX DuoClean w/ Zero M Powered Lift-Away. "Is anyone else obsessed with vacuum cleaners? I have recently admitted that I am, and have been since Otter became the first in a series of large, double-coated, very long-haired dogs sharing our homes. I've gone through so many vacuums - cannister, shop, upright, bagless, bagged - but our combo of conditions have thwarted them all. The latest (Kenmore Elite 31150) lasted for fewer than five uses. No pet tool attachment has ever worked beyond the first use. I've even drawn up diagrams of my ideas for vacuum cleaner improvement inventions! Here's my latest flirtation. How much do you want to bet that Annabelle's hair can defeat the Zero M feature within five minutes? But part of me still holds out hope..." So your review has given this two-huge-fluffy-long-haired-perpetually-shedding-dog-household hope.

    Dog pet owners also need to pick up stuffing from toys that have been chewed open! Perhaps add stuffing to your tests? 😊 (Side note: Our bagless Hoover Windtunnel does a horrible job with that. The stuffing gets jammed in the narrow space between the hose opening and metal “core” in the canister, then the hot metal core scorches the stuffing! We didn’t have an actual fire, fortunately, but it seems possible.)

    I bought the Sharp Apex in July of 2019. I have 5 large Sheepdogs. The hair was constantly wrapped around the roller and at one point when I went to clean the roller, once cleaned after turning it back on it began vibrating so loudly it sounded as if something in the components holding the roller in place became warped... not sure. It no longer would clean my carpets leaving debris that even the cheapest vacuum on earth could have picked up. This was about 9 months later. At any rate it was a complete waste of money and was sent to my husbands shop with cement floors to use because his employees don't mind the obnoxious loud sound it now makes. I will never buy another shark vacuum.

I walk by the Vacuum Repair Shop and it is lined with Dysons, Sharks and Bissells. 8 Border Collies, 3 humans, one cat and a farm means lots of dust and fur. The Shark Navigator didn't even last 6 months, the Bissell lasted a year and the older Kenmore Elite Canister is heading into 3 years here and who knows how many before we bought it.

    As a Shark owner all I can say is they DO NOT LAST. I had hoses that were barely used, vacuum used almost strictly in upright carpet mode, failing within a year. If someone has a Shark and claim it's the best vacuum they've ever had then they have not had that much experience with vacuums. In fact you can even check other channels for how shit breaks on them. Their hoses suck, and not in the good suction way. They fail quickly. They may have hit on something with the Zero M and how it keeps pet hair from wrapping but that doesn't negate the failure of components that shouldn't fail as fast as they do. I'll take having to clean a beater bar occasionally over parts that fail way before they should.

  • @BelLavoroAutoSpa
    @BelLavoroAutoSpa 5 років тому

    I wish you would do more carpet testing for pet hair. On hard floor, pet hair is just like any other dust and dirt and isn't hard to vacuum or sweep up. Carpet is another story, and IMO a good pet hair vacuum should pick all of it up from the carpet, as that's where it really becomes embedded and is not easy to clean.

  • @harrison00xXx

    Great Video! I noticed you have thoroughly tested the Apex Shark line, specifically the AZ1000 and AX951. But I have never seen you mention the AX912! Shark lists this as an Apex "Speed" vacuum and it seems to be a smaller, lighter Apex DuoClean Powered Lift-Away. I'm trying to decide between the Apex AX912 and your favorite NV800, which seem to have a lot in common. Both are DuoClean, Powered Lift Away, and of the "Speed" line. Both are similar weight at 14.8lb and 14.5lb respectively. One of the big differences however is the AX912 appears to have a smaller motor (7.5 amp) than the NV800 series (9.2 amp). Have you tested the AX912? Any chance you can get one in for review?

      I have to say my experience has been different. We have used Sharks of various types nearly daily with our cleaning business and haven't noticed declines in power. However with sharks there are things to check to keep that from happening. For example the metal grate In the bust bin must be kept free of buildup which is the most common cause of loss of suction other than clogs or hose breaks.

    Thanks for review. I am trying to make decision on what to buy. I have Sebo X series, handle broke because of transporting to other location. It is great vacuum. I wanted to buy Sebo Felix but I am surprised how low it scored. Before Sebo I had Kenmore, Shark and they were throw away vacuums. Shark was actually worst-like leaf blower moving particles away from vacuum! So my questions are many: 1. What happened to Shark brand and can quality be trusted, what is their target customer? I would love cheaper vacuum cleaner, but it's not going to be cheaper if it stops working in 2 years, or has to be serviced.
    2. I read somewhere that suction is not everything. Meaning suction flow doesn't translate necessary to better dust pick up. I would love to know more about this.
    3. How long did you use these vacuums and how often?
    4. I read so many confusing reviews on Dyson! I am surprised there is HEPA system. I would love if you run cost of filter replacements per year or how easy is to clean/maintain them. Again with Sebo, it has bags, but they are cheap because Sebo packs so much in the bag. When bag is full, it is truly full. I understand with Dyson, it is just dumping dirt in garbage and what are health effect on breathing and spreading dust?
    As you can see I am thoroughly confused about which vacuum to pick. I want quality and long lasting. Thanks for any additional information. I like your testing. I just wished to have more background story on each vacuum use and brand.

    • @VacuumWars
      @VacuumWars  5 років тому +2

      First let me say that Sebo's are great despite these tests. No the Felix doesnt have HEPA filtration but its still REALLY good at filtration and is a very versatile vacuum. I do think they are overpriced though.
      With regard to Shark, well they are probably making the most money right now and they seem to spend a LOT on R&D. I like their commitment to sealed system HEPA filtration on most of their models. I personally have Sharks with our cleaning business for years , and they hold up very well in that demanding environment. We absolutely LOVE Shark DuoCleans and probably wont be using another type for our cleaning business for the foreseeable future. I cant speak to your specific issue with blowing debris around, I would need more info, but its not something I have experienced.
      Bagged vs bagless is a debate Im not invested in, they each have their pros and cons. I have heard a lot of good things about the super high end Riccar / Simplicity vacs, Im sure Ill get around to testing them soon, but that might be something to look into. I didnt like the Miele upright at all but a lot of people swear by the canisters.
