*I tried several products for my HW and this is the best **MyBest.Tools** Mops and vacuum cleans at the same time. Keeps dirty water separate and overall very pleased with this product.*
It never ceases to amaze me how the basic power lift away mode is always not shown. Just pull canister and boom you have a stick vac with the large head.
From a Cleaning Professional 25 years on business, I had purchased German Commercial Vaccum’s $650! Sanitar,Dyson Animal and the best one so far SHARK PROFESSIONAL, the warranty way better than any in the market ,Dyson always give me the headache when came to fix something, the last animal machine I had broke in many parts, after arguing back and for they finally send me the parts, Shark never broke and when I had a small issue they send me a new part, 5 Stars Vaccum, now I wish I could had a new Vaccum every time they make a new one so I could review it. Filters are easy to clean, I had never had to change a belt or buy a new bag
The Shark absolutely blitzed the Dyson on the hard floor fruit loop test. This is the only vacuum I have seen which does not snow plow on both surfaces. Awesome. I know what I will be getting. Great review as always Nigel. Looking forward to the new Dyson V10 cyclone review as I am in the market for a cordless vacuum as well.
I’ve used many vacuums over my life time, and I believe the Shark Epic has out performed them all, including the Dyson I used to own. So, if your looking for a vacuum that picks up just that much more, like I was, this is it.
Is there any risk with the Apex scratching hardwood floors? I just got my hardwoods refinished with a gloss finish, and the last thing I want is my new vacuum putting brush marks all over it. Is there any way to turn the brushes off? Also, you're the ONLY person whos shown this vacuum on shag carpet. So thank you, I was curious how it would do.
Clarification: low pile mode is when the brushroll spins the fastest (EDIT: this is stated in the manual and I verified it with a Shark rep just to make sure). The brushroll spins slower in high pile/thick carpet mode with lesser suction, so as to decrease the chances that it will get stuck on such surfaces.
It looks like the suction or vacuum is created in the middle of the body and relies on the soft felt roller to whisk items to the suction area. Most traditional vacuums create the suction up front on the body and can suck dust and debris in before it gets run over which helps when vacuuming head on to the base of kitchen cabinets. It seems like this vacuum may require the hose or crevice tool to vacuum near the base of the cabinets.
Are people really vacuuming whole cereal these day? I'd be picking up the large pieces by hand. I take that back. It looks fun to vacuum it. I just bought this vac.
Nice vac. Too bad Shark can't make up their mind and decide if they want users to be able to replace the brush roller. I actually bought one for the older NV series you have in your video (third party seller on ebay just selling spare parts), and I could not believe how ridiculous they made the brush head - it was nearly impossible to take the roller out without destroying or breaking the plastic head. I wish I took pictures but it was so frustratingly maddening at every possible turn - they just do not want you to be able to service it and prefer you buy an almost $100 complete nozzle.
So everything you vacuum up goes through the long coiled hose? I have large birds who love to throw their pelleted food (around the same size or maybe slightly larger than the fruit loops) and other things...wood chunks, vegetables, shredded paper etc across the room and was interested in this vacuum when I seen how it could pick up large items. My current vacuums have a tendency to get clogs in the coiled hose so I am looking for a vacuum that has a straight shot into the container. Guess I will have to rip out my carpeting and install hard wood floors....but stepping on those food pellets hurt enough on carpet so Im not looking forward to how they hurt on a hard floor lol
I'm so returning my Dyson Ball 2. Glad I didn't open it. Will put the saved cash toward a Dyson V11 stick (once Dyson figures out we want the fluffy head here in the states!) Thank you.
Well id wait. Many cases uave come out there the main cleaner head breaks internally. Dyson will replace it for free which gives them a 10/10 in customer service but this is a heads up
@@blackice7408 I'm loving my Shark! Not using my Dyson anymore as it's inferior on hard floors. Still using Dyson V6 for my portable for now. I'll upgrade at some point but I fear V10 & V11 would be harder to reach tight areas like car footwell, etc.
It's an almost perfect vacuum. There are still a couple bit of issues. I'll list it out. *The filter clogs easily and not effective for allergy sufferers. *Machine is still not as durable. *Power head can't be turn on or off. *Bad Cyclone System resulting in clogs. *The power head/brush bar tangles easily. *Weighs over 16 pounds. But Overall it's a great alternative to a Dyson and might be even better than a Dyson. But for me, my trusty Dyson Ball Animal 2 still is great!😄 One question. Which vacuum is better for $3000? The New Kirby Avalir 2 or the newest Rainbow vacuum model?
Sheesh! 3k for a vac? I'd rather get an LG front load washer and dryer pair with that money. But if you want to get into best all round cleaner, take a look at the Dyson v10 cyclone absolute
Nope --- Duo clean is a duo disaster. First - hair gets trapped behind the front roller in front of the comb as well as wrapped on the front roller. Worse yet - hair gets wrapped around the beater roller too. Just as bad if not worse than old bag style uprights. Finally, hair or fine threads get wrapped around the spindle (?) of the plastic drive gear that turns the beater roller. It is virtually impossible to clean this out without removing a tiny screw that holds the gear on. Good luck with that. Eventually the motor will overheat and shutdown due to the increased load caused by this buildup behind the drive gear. In vacuuming just the downstairs portion of our house (less than 1000 ft2) I have to stop and take both rollers off and clean them at least once per vacuum session. And BTW - the bagless thing is a complete mess too. Filthy enough you need to go out on the porch when you empty it. Please someone make a vacuum that just works ---- I don't need a bunch of crap attachments etc if the basic function of vacuum isn't good.
Curious how many and what kind of sources of hair are there in your household. Or is it just a case of too much time between vacuuming. Your description sounds like there might be other conditions compounding the issue. Brushes will always get clogged with hair, the quantity will always govern how often you have to stop and clean the brushes. If you don't mind the cost of bags, you should definitely go a bagged vacuum route if you are disturbed with the inconvenience of cleaning out the canister outside. The reason for the "sealed" system is to not have the dirt inside. Almost sounds like you need something like the Eureka MightyMite canister vacuum or Super CoachVac Commercial Backpack Vacuum Cleaner, or you could just hire a professional service.
*This guy is the Mr Rodgers of the vacuum cleaner reviews.*
I just sent a video to a friend comparing him to Bob Ross haha!

This is a very well designed machine. I've had many vacuums in my life and this is the best. Love the lights and filtration system.

Very nice review as always. Seems like Shark are now surpassing Dyson in some ways.
I agree! This Apex machine is a good one.
They're better in almost every way. They work well on any floor type, pick up virtually everything. The lift away feature is amazing as well.
9:56 that's the most satisfying click I've ever heard
Great video thank you, will be watching the rest of your uploads
Nicely put video. Great information
How about edge cleaning 🤔

Geoff Pritchard sucking up way too much pet hair.
Thing is junk, Dyson agitates much better for much cleaner carpet
AppalachianHustle you agitate me better than then a Dyson will agitate you.
Did you watch the video? It picked up everything on the first pass through.
