We bought a shark vacuum cleaner a year ago, we love the vacuum cleaner, works perfectly. Then we had a problem with the head not working. We called shark warranty service they tried to solve the problem over the phone, they couldn't figure it out. They had us ship it back to them at their expense and they sent us a brand-new one. Great vacuum cleaner!
Being a Shark convert from last year. I must say they are probably the best vacuums I have ever had. If this one dies, I'll definitely be buying another.
Having owned only a Miele C3, I love the NV801! It cleans the carpet far better and the led lights, low noise and ergonomics make it like a sports car of vacuuming.
Just bought one after my Dyson died on me. Can't believe how much it picked up after I'd already hoovered. Amazing suction and probably the best hoover I've ever bought!
What a joy to watch a review which is straightforward, clear, concise and on point without any needless information. Excellent presentation - have subscribed.
What a brilliant video and demonstrator - thank you so much. You have shown all the elements of the vacuum cleaner that I would want to know about and all the buttons have been explained very clearly, and where they are located on the machine. I have subscribed.
I recently got this hoover. Fantastic pickup and suction for both carpets and laminate flooring. Picks up hair and dirt you didn't even know was there. Although, coming from a Henry - I am growing tiresome of having to unblock the tubes as they seem to block very easily with bigger particles whereas the Henry would suck up anything and tubes remained clear. All in all a very good vacuum cleaner and would recommend to anyone thinking about getting one.
This thing is so cool! There's a ridge on the brush roller to hook the little tool under the hairs and pull them off, I actually enjoyed cleaning it because it was so simple to do. Love it!!!
I just bought one from QVC for 199.92 USD.... not to bad - I have the rocket duo but after a while it is heavy on the shoulders ! Great video as usual - love all of your vids Steve USA
It looks as though this model has quite a bit more suction power over the Rocket DC. It absolutely inhaled all that debris even before sweeping over it... it's a beast! I've already purchased two Sharks based on your reviews this month... why do you continue to tempt me?!
I need this model here in the US. I have the DuoClean Lift-Away Speed but it doesn't allow the use of the brushroll, I miss that from my older Rotator Powered Lift-Away.
I just bought one of these based on this and other reviews. My previous Dyson had expired just outside of warranty. On first use this vacuum pulled out 4x as much dirt as the Dyson had been doing. All the dirt the Dyson had been leaving behind is gone. Pickup of cat food and litter was brilliant. I am suitably impressed, but I can't understand why it only gets a C rating for pickup?
The ratings on vacuum cleaners are for picking up a certain type of dust and do not take into account other debris such as pet hair and larger items. I would only use them as a rough guide.
ibaisaic a very rough guide. I mean this vac just picked up flour and dry cat food perfectly in a single pass on a hard floor (exactly the same as your kitchen floor as it happens). My Dyson would have smeared it.
TheAegisClaw so its a good vacuum to pick up dust and cat hair on wood floors? Im about to go buy this one to try it out. I can't seem to find a good vacuum. They start failing after a few months.
I used your video to help me assemble my new vacuum from the box. I've had another Shark vacuum for years and loved it with the exception of that separate bare floor attachment. The new features made this one just so enticing especially not having to attach something to get fine dust off bare floors. One thing so far I do not like is that little ball joint that holds the hose onto the upright section. I liked the clip better. But other than that, it sure seems superior. Your video was an honest, unbiased test which I really appreciate.
Good review. It seems to perform as well as hoover or dyson. But with the benefits of the duo head for carpet & hard floors. I particularly like how easy the roller brushes are to remove for maintenance in the review . This is what a review should be. Thorough. Now dont let me disturb you....continue cleaning the house.
Just picked up the Costco model UV810. It’s a similar version to the Speed NV801/803. The UV810 comes with 6 attachments, and is $50 off, on sale for $199. Like many others, I was surprised to see how much dust, etc. it picked up from area rugs that my previous, much older vacuum couldn’t handle. We’ll see how it does over the coming weeks. You obviously cannot judge a vacuum after a few days, but I like the power, maneuverability, light weight, and all the attachments. I’d like to see a comparison video between this model and the Apex Speed AX912 (their latest Speed powered lift-away) at some point.
I do hate hose dont think its long enough and it is heavy I has painful wrists and hands so trying 2 lift stuff detached attachments hurts abit but it seems a good hoover not had it long enough too rate yet
What are the dimensions (height) of the power head, for example, how tall would a couch have to be for it to fit underneath once you lift away the canister? Thank you for the demo.
Besides being slimmer in build, what are the differences between the NV801/NV803 and the DuoClean Slim Upright model, NV202? They both look to be $200 at this time in the US.
On Jan 5th 2022 my mum bought this NZ850UK, she is 5ft tall and 70 with a few mobility issues, so anyway it was delivered, she took it out the box switched it on pushed it around for 30 seconds, switched it off and said no I dont like it, its too big and heavy for me, so she then rings me and says you can have this Shark I don't want it (benefits of being an only child), I said so send it back then and get you monay back she said no I can't be bothered (obviously has money to burn) so I'm not turning down a brand new shark, I go racing up my mums, when I get there she's packed it all back away in the box as if it were never opened, I could have cried I was so happy! So I get back home and spend the next hour I thought pissing my neighbours off at 10pm but I didn't because its the quietest vaccum I have ever used, and the amount of fine sand like material I got out of my carpet was shocking, I love it, thanks mum.
I love your videos and I loved using sweepers sense I was 5 and now I’m 14 and I own a shark rotator powered lift away modal nv752 and it is the best sweeper ever until I get the duo clean vacuum to
This is the best review of anything I've ever seen. You can tell this vacuum has had lots of thought gone in to it and the clicks all sound like it's a great quality build. I would have liked to see both sides offering edge cleaning though. Nevertheless having had a superb help via email from Shark today and an offer of a free car kit I've ordered mine.
No, looks like the UK got this first which is unusual as the US normally get all the new Shark models before we do. I expect it will be launched there soon, possibly with a motorised pet brush.
Got an NV652 and it works great for what it is. (I'd say it's good enough to be the "poor man's Dyson, even if not super-cheap.) Mostly used as an upright, but the modular breakdown means I use it as a hand canister when doing stairs. It also has the rolling caddy to use as a cannister, but I find that clumsy. Sometimes I wish somebody would make an aftermarket backpack style cradle for it to lock onto, because that'd be super convenient. Also it seems the NV65x and NV75x series are pretty much the same vacuum with a lot of shared common parts. (Filters and most replacement parts are the same.) I'm guessing they're just revisions or different packaging (different colors or attachments) of the same base model? --- Edit --- Watching into it, looks like a lot of forward/backward parts compatibility with the NV80x series too. So it must be if some things work, they just keep going with it.
Great review, love my 3 year old Shark Rotator. Not looking to upgrade now, but it looks like Shark is working on some great upgrades. This vacuum seems perfect except for 1 big thing I want, cordless. I know that's a big thing, but I'd be willing to pay for it.
I am in love! Thank you so much for this demonstration. I hoped it was as good as it seemed and your video has proved it. This is exactly what I want and need for my home/lifestyle. I love SHARK!!!
You just press the bin release button and empty it by pressing the grey catch on the bottom of the bin. You can also open the top of the bin to empty any dirt in the top half.
I got my NV800 today and just had a good go around the house which is a mix of hard floors (downstairs) and carpet (upstairs). Can't fault the performance, it replaced an old Dyson DC07 which I thought did a good job but the Shark really went to town on my floors. I think the dust capacity is a little small as I had to empty the bin a couple of times whereas I could use the Dyson for weeks without having to empty it. It does give you a bit of workout however as it tends to try and run away with itself, particularly on carpet, anyone else feel this is the case?
The same thing happen to mine, green light turn red, I took roller out cleaned it out and put it back in and still doesn’t work, light still red. I called and they’re sending the bottom part in 4-6 weeks.
Have you noticed this newest model Shark has returned to the circular filters; kode1996 video shows more debris gathers on the square type filters (2nd gen)!
hi got my shark its going back. it no good for dog hairs. the hair wrap around the roller and debris get caught on top of the comb behind the roller. i spend 20 min cleaning the roller. the big brush was ok. just thought i let you know
I have a similar model to this one and I really like it. I have a cat and a dog and it does a good job cleaning the hair. But the constant cleaning of the rollers is a pain.
Thank you! I have a large dog and tiny dog both lose lots of hair! I decided not to buy it. I'd stick to a Black & Decker cordless which lasts only 50 minutes, but every parts is very easy to clean even dog hair within 5 minutes done the cleaning all parts
What is the width of the nozzle? I have been trying to figure it out. I have the rocket and, I would like something that has a smaller head like it does. It makes it fantastic for small areas between furniture.
I can’t check at the moment as the cleaner is in storage but from memory the width of the head is similar to the rocket. The non duo clean uprights have a wider head.
Something satisfying about finishing the vacuuming the rest of the dirt up in this video. I was almost willing him. How did i get here? I was looking for cctv installation. Good video still. I like the idea of a Shark but i reckon i will wait until my old Dyson breaks and take it from there.
I just purchased Shark's most advanced machine last night, the APEX DuoClean Powered Lift-Away. I compared it against my previous model Rotator Lift-Away (not powered of course) and I am amazed. The Rotator feels like a $100 vacuum compared to the APEX. I will tell you this, compared to the model you are showing in this video, it is much heavier. The motor in the APEX model is 1350W so it must be larger I guess, since you mention the pod being light weight. It is not light weight. It could be a bit cumbersome for some older or weaker people. I will also add that the power on this machine had me white knuckling the entire first time I tried this...I had to rub Tiger Balm on my had afterwards! It is so unbelievably powerful. The Lift-Away I will agree is a VERY awesome feature. Btw, I would not have purchased this $450 vacuum if it weren't for the Kohls cash and 30% off coupon I had! Got it for $291, with the addition of $50 Kohls cash recieved from the purchase and another 261 Yes2You points (which basically gives me another $15 Kohls cash = $65 total Kohls cash from the purchase). My fiancee will be able to get some more clothing for work with that. This vacuum was a GREAT deal! Now off to find someone who needs a vacuum, because I won't be needing my of Rotator anymore. :)
I'm going to assume you probably won't have the APEX model. Would you say that a 900W vacuum would be powerful? I do believe that the US over-consumes electricity as it is. Thanks for the fast reply!
I don't know what new uprights Shark will be launching in the UK, but due to the upgraded regulations they will have to be quiter than existing models. 900 watts is more than enough power, especially for an upright. We have quite a few decent performing uprights in the UK that only use 700 watts.
I agree, they should be quiet. The APEX is much more quiet than the Rotator. I hope they can give you the APEX in under 900W, I would love for you to do a review and be able to try it out. It's quite impressive!
Thank you for the very thorough review! I'm in the market for a vacuum and it seem for the price, this is the best. Especially with it going on sale at Costco in a couple weeks.
Hiya, I am looking at getting one of the lift away hoovers but stuck between nv800 and nv680. Which one would you recommend for a house with a long haired terrier!
ibaisaic I do have had d floor tho down stairs witch that’s shark rocket lightweight stick true pet thing that as broke never really picked up that well on hard floor so would you still say the same cause I have hard floor and carpets so what’s best the duo clean or the standard liftaway or the duo clean stick for a family with young children that make a mess all day 😩 👍🏻😃
Roger, is that a new kitchen floor I see? Looks nice! I am always concerned that these rotating brush rolls will scratch a finished floor, or at least dull the finish. Would it not be safer to use that floor mop attachment they provide with their older machines - you know...the one with the washable fibre pad?
The EU ratings don't reflect every floor, only one specific floor with a crevice and using a particular test dust. Actual performance will vary depending on the surface and the dirt being picked up.
Here's a question. We own the Shark Powered Liftaway NV680. Is the Duo Clean head compatible with it? It's looks to be the same connector as the powered head on the 680. Could be interesting in the future. Thanks
This is the one I had delivered today I found it hard 2 use in limited space abit fiddle and using tools I found abit fiddle abit hard to take off but im novice so not had it long enough too actually rate it yet like it tho
Hello is this better at pick up than the Shark Powered Liftaway NV681UK? I ask as Argos rate the latter better at pick up than the duo on their website giving it a grade B and the Duo a grade C. Thank you And love your videos.
The NV681 is the newer version to comply with the latest EU regulations. Check out all the ratings on Shark's website as they should be correct as I find Argos often make mistakes in their descriptions.
Hello. Nice video. Do you prefer this Powered DuoClean Lift-Away or the Powered Lift-Away Speed? I mainly have hardwood floors and some large area rugs.
I was on one of the Shark websites a few days ago and on the Tru Pet model, there was a statement about 30% off but I haven't checked on it to know what the discount would include (all hard floors with 5 cats and 1 dog - I really need a good vacuum).
$249.99 USD + tax at Costco if you are a member. If you're not a member, you can purchase it online, but there is a shipping fee ($6.99 USD for where I live) and likely an additional fee for not being a member (5% where I live, but no additional fee in CA). This Costco package contains quite a few extra tools. SET INCLUDES: Detail Tool Kit Pet Multi-Tool Duster Crevice Tool Pet Power Brush Under Appliance Wand Flexi Crevice Tool Accessory Bag www.costco.com/Shark-DuoClean-Powered-Lift-Away-Speed-Vacuum.product.100363688.html
is power head compatable with previous model ? I just bought the previous model last summer, and it makes me mad to think I have to spend more money again to have all the benefits of rocket and liftaway models. It is not available in USA we'd site yet either so lucky you 😊
I don't know if the new head will be compatible, but it looks like it would be. Your best bet would be to contact Shark once it's launches in the USA to see if you can upgrade the power head.
Thanks for your video. I have an obsession with all things Shark!!! I use the liftaway Speed for my house cleaning business and the original powered liftaway for my home. My question is. Does the new floor nozzle fit last years modles? I would love to be able to just change the floor nozzle if possible. Also, do you find that the new Duoclean head works fine getting in corners of kitchen cabinets?
Shark's website started selling this model (NV801 and NV801W) as of yesterday. For those asking about the motorized hand tool, it is included in the NV801W package. FYI, as you have probably guessed, this is the same model vacuum as the Rotator Powered Lift Away Speed, so all attachments that fit the Speed will also fit the NV801 series. direct.sharkclean.com/16/products/shark-rotator-powered-lift-away-speed-nv800/9/microsite/ogvii/?_ga=1.167173502.1714613753.1491417730
Correction: Shark has named this the NV800 series, so the model numbers on the website are specifically NV800 and NV800W. I found NV801's on third party retailer's websites.
What really also annoys me is the first generation was the only one with fingertip on off... these are on the main unit, bummer. But you get to attach the power head to the handle
We bought a shark vacuum cleaner a year ago, we love the vacuum cleaner, works perfectly. Then we had a problem with the head not working. Totally agree
Having owned only a Miele C3,

Purchased this yesterday in USA. Waiting for delivery. Thanks for input.
Yes, first rate demo. Helped me on empty the full catcher , hope it works that way as smoothly.
Just got the new model, and you answered about 6 questions I had. Brilliant!
This was so helpful, thank you! I don’t like reading the directions and prefer visual instructions instead.

ibaisaic No problem, Roger. I’m glad I watched your video on the Speed Duo Clean before I bought one.
I found it works really good on hard floor on deep pale carpet it's adequate but the lift away feature is fantastic

Between the rocket and the lift away which do you prefer? It seems that the lift away did slightly better picking up everything on the carpet.
I prefer this one. It has more suction, seems to agitate better and it's quieter.
Compared to the Dyson Small ball new model which would you say was better?
Can you swap the floor nozzle to different model numbers of shark upright vacuum. E.G NV800ukt floor nozzle to a NV700ukt
What are the dimensions (height) of the power head, for example, how tall would a couch have to be for it to fit underneath once you lift away the canister? Thank you for the demo.

Yuuup LOL
Very.

Hi, it is usable for very soft premium carpets? If not can you recommend me any one ? Thank you
I’ve just bought one hope it’s as good as the review it arrives Wednesday
I have one it's very good. And powerful 👍🇬🇧
This is the best review of anything I've ever seen. You can tell this vacuum has had lots of thought gone in to it and the clicks all sound like it's a great quality build. It’s because of the belt
Would you recommend this over the Dyson DC65?
Which do you think is the better vacuum, the Shark Powered lift away DuoClean NV800 or the Shark Rocket Complete with DuoClean HV380?
Thanks
We have one of these hoovers and there's a black sponge that came with the HEPA filter I'm I suppose to remove this sponge??
I guess this isn't available in the usa yet? this is so cool! I love it!!great demo!
No, looks like the UK got this first which is unusual as the US normally get all the new Shark models before we do. I expect it will be launched there soon, possibly with a motorised pet brush.
kode1996 hi i.sub
kode1996 the agitation looks amazing too
kode1996 I prefer dyson

Thank You Very Much for the review, I just got one myself. You are one of the best reviewers!
Thank you.
I love SHARK!!!
is this better than the bissell crosswave
I lov mine, but its time to empty the dust and I can't find my manual. Wish you would have covered that in the video.
You just press the bin release button and empty it by pressing the grey catch on the bottom of the bin. You can also open the top of the bin to empty any dirt in the top half.
I got my NV800 today and just had a good go around the house which is a mix of hard floors (downstairs) and carpet (upstairs). Perhaps you didn't have to empty your Dyson for weeks because it wasn't picking up very much in the first place.😀
ibaisaic I was thinking the same
Hi I’ve just bought this same hoover just a quick question anybody who has this does the cone mesh filter inside the dust cabin come off to clean?
Do you think this is better than a Henry extra for pet hair?
I like Shark and its DuoClean technology
Brilliant review as always!

The same thing happen to mine, green light turn red, I took roller out cleaned it out and put it back in and still doesn’t work, light still red. I called and they’re sending the bottom part in 4-6 weeks.

We bought one, exactly the same model, had it less than 6 months and the main roller stop routing,
Contact Shark as it is still under guarantee.
Is this vacuum quiet it seems really loud on here?
Como la consigo me interesa👍
The agitation on the Shark vacuum cleaner is very impressive.
Yes it was. Better than the previous powered lift away and seems better than the Rocket version, though it uses the same powerhead.
hi got my shark its going back. it no good for dog hairs. the hair wrap around the roller and debris get caught on top of the comb behind the roller. i spend 20 min cleaning the roller. the big brush was ok. just thought i let you know
john smith im having same issue with my shark. Which model do you have? Mines the one in video.
the one he using in the video it no good for pet hairs. I sent mine back
I have a similar model to this one and I really like it.

What are your thoughts on the Shark DuoClean Apex powered lift away and powered lift away speed?
We don't have the Apex model in the UK, so I don't know I'm afraid.
how long is the cord
Something satisfying about finishing the vacuuming the rest of the dirt up in this video. I was almost willing him. How did i get here? I was looking for cctv installation. Good video still. I like the idea of a Shark but i reckon i will wait until my old Dyson breaks and take it from there.
Oh my goodness that is my dream vacuum to own one of these!😍😍
I just purchased Shark's most advanced machine last night, the APEX DuoClean Powered Lift-Away. :)
We don't have the Apex model in the UK, but if and when we do, the wattage of it will be limited to 900 watts maximum due to EU regulations.
Look at that make the dirt dance on the carpet!
It's doing the can-can.
A very thorough review. I'm excited to purchase this vacuum. Thank you!!
Have you done a review of the Shark Lift Away Deluxe Navigator?
No, you can’t get that model in the UK.
Can I use it in lift away mode unplugged to carry it upstairs
No but it does have a long cord
The hose that you clip to the wand keeps popping out..
Thank you for the useful information
thanks for the great video, very helpful, looking forward to years of a clean home with my new shark !!
Hiya,
I am looking at getting one of the lift away hoovers but stuck between nv800 and nv680.
Which one would you recommend for a house with a long haired terrier!
CAN YOU USE THIS ON HARWOOD FLOORS WITHOUT SCRATCHING THE FLOOR
Yes
😭 I really want this vac I just cart believe how expensive it is . I love your vacuum reviews there the best out there 👍🏻😘
If you have mainly carpets, I would recommend the standard powered lift away without duo clean. You can sometimes get them on offer for around £200.
ibaisaic I do have had d floor tho down stairs witch that’s shark rocket lightweight stick true pet thing that as broke never really picked up that well on hard floor so would you still say the same cause I have hard floor and carpets so what’s best the duo clean or the standard liftaway or the duo clean stick for a family with young children that make a mess all day 😩 👍🏻😃
Buy directly from Shark. You can pay in three installments
mine did not has the small pet motorized part, why?
Where's the HenryXtra unboxing/ demonstration and review please
How does this compare to dyson slim ball.
Also, which filter is easy to clean. Dyson or shark?
My local vacuum cleaner repair house says they repair more Dysons than any other brand and also say they are junk.
Is the head on this interchangeable with the nv680 head
I think I swapped the heads in one of my live videos.
does this have a height adjustable handle like the shark rocket??
No, the handle height is fixed.
Roger, is that a new kitchen floor I see? Looks nice! I am always concerned that these rotating brush rolls will scratch a finished floor, or at least dull the finish. Would it not be safer to use that floor mop attachment they provide with their older machines - you know...the one with the washable fibre pad?
Not a new floor, just a couple of spare bits from my Mum's sunroom floor.
Brian Torob
Is this model still available on Sharks website. And is it still Sharks newest mains model
Shark have slighly upgraded their models to meet new EU energy labelling requirements, but the features remain the same.
ibaisaic do you k ow the updated Model number of this one??
brilliant review Roger, can`t wait till i get mine probably wont be for a couple of months though hopefully it will have a price drop by then
Yes, it seems a bit pricey at the moment.
Does it have a hepa filter?
Check the video at 11:19
But it was rated not so good on bare floor right? Isn't that one of the main purposes
It works perfectly well on my floors.
I was just saying what you said it scores on the card
The EU ratings don't reflect every floor, only one specific floor with a crevice and using a particular test dust. Actual performance will vary depending on the surface and the dirt being picked up.
Oh that's interesting, we don't have anything like that here in the U.S. we're basic b*tches
Here's a question. We own the Shark Powered Liftaway NV680. Is the Duo Clean head compatible with it? It's looks to be the same connector as the powered head on the 680. Could be interesting in the future. Thanks
I believe it does fit, in fact I tried it one of my live videos.
Thank you
And love your videos.
Hello?
The NV681 is the newer version to comply with the latest EU regulations. Check out all the ratings on Shark's website as they should be correct as I find Argos often make mistakes in their descriptions.
Hello. Nice video. Do you prefer this Powered DuoClean Lift-Away or the Powered Lift-Away Speed? I mainly have hardwood floors and some large area rugs.
I prefer this one. It would be better for you with mainly hard floors as this model cleans floors better and you don't have to change the head.
ibaisaic Thank you, Roger. Have you seen any good sales on it in the US yet?
I was on one of the Shark websites a few days ago and on the Tru Pet model, there was a statement about 30% off but I haven't checked on it to know what the discount would include (all hard floors with 5 cats and 1 dog - I really need a good vacuum).
$249.99 USD + tax at Costco if you are a member. If you're not a member, you can purchase it online, but there is a shipping fee ($6.99 USD for where I live) and likely an additional fee for not being a member (5% where I live, but no additional fee in CA). This Costco package contains quite a few extra tools.
SET INCLUDES:
Detail Tool Kit
Pet Multi-Tool
Duster Crevice Tool
Pet Power Brush
Under Appliance Wand
Flexi Crevice Tool
Accessory Bag

What the strongest shark sold for hard floors
my soft front roller has never worked since i bought it
Then you should have returned it for a refund or exchange.
i never noticed till someone pointed it out i was wondering and i thought all the adds were hype and that is how it worked
is there a part missing where it is ment to spin
on the soft roller
the small wheels are ok why does the soft roller not spin
it is the duo clean
is power head compatable with previous model ? I just bought the previous model last summer, and it makes me mad to think I have to spend more money again to have all the benefits of rocket and liftaway models.
It is not available in USA we'd site yet either so lucky you 😊
I don't know if the new head will be compatible, but it looks like it would be. Your best bet would be to contact Shark once it's launches in the USA to see if you can upgrade the power head.
Is this better than a Henry extra
It may not last as long as a Henry Extra, but I would say it performs better and is a bit more convenient to use.

Correction: Shark has named this the NV800 series, so the model numbers on the website are specifically NV800 and NV800W. I found NV801's on third party retailer's websites.
How much is the price
I can't wait to get my hands on one these, amazing review.
whats your everyday hoover ?
At the moment it is a Miele C3 Comfort Line Boost.
What really also annoys me is the first generation was the only one with fingertip on off... these are on the main unit, bummer. But you get to attach the power head to the handle
I'm a fan of Shark vacuum
