How is this 3 series size? It's 1ft longer and 0.5 ft wider. That's a HUGE difference in car terms. And it's bigger than a 5 series too.

Interesting review. I love the looks, love the glass roof but would prefer an electric shade cover when needed , love the buttons for frequent easy non distracting use! and I love the white paint! I'd paint the grill white. I know you're both rolling your eyes and shaking your heads at me at my love for white paint. 😀
BTW I drove the Porsche Taycan for 3 days and while impressed with the speed and handling of the Taycan the interior and comfort didn't feel nice enough to me at the price point.
I'll eventually buy an electric car but am thinking for a continent crusher I'd want to buy a big electric SUV or van that has close to a 500 mile range and I won't care how heavy it is because I'm just taking it on a long comfortable road trip and saving the gas $.
Thanks for the informative review! Cheers!

Just curious as to whether the owner had set the battery to charge above 80%. I had to set mine to charge to 100% to get the full range, otherwise Audi recommends leaving it at 80% to save batter life over time. I consistently get around 230 on a charge. I suspect that if the garage is heated, that he probably just needs to change that setting.

Just picked up a Tesla 3 dual motor (not Performance, and I wasn’t a Tesla guy by any stretch), had a Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Adjustable suspension upgrade installed for a total of 5 extra K, and I could not be happier. It handles. I get 70% of total range driving like a maniac and bang on full range in chill mode and cruise control.

  • @andycalifornia426

A sports car? I beg to differ. Fast != sports. Especially when every electric car is fast. There's so much more to the equation. It's a high performance "sporty" car, but it's primary function is hauling families or daily-driving businessmen, getting them from point A to point B comfortably. A sports car is a car whose primary function is driving for fun, and getting from point A to point B in comfort is a secondary concern. Stuff like Mustang, Nissan Z, GT86, Miata, Corvette, M2.
Not every car has to be a sports car to be cool. Sports doesn't mean "better". It's ok for this to be what it is and not be labelled a sports car. Hence, there's no need to try to shoehorn every cool car into the "sports car" category.

At $120k and it’s missing bells and whistles. I can’t get my head around someone paying six figures for a car those doesn’t include all the available options. At what price point should a car just include every option?

Have we not all been so on fuel that we've changed our breathing patterns and turned off the radio? What's worse is when you have those moments in a TDI and you're looking for a diesel pump, I can't imagine the stress of electric. Good luck lads.

    • @justinschultz4325

I've had my EV for a year. Zero stress even through winter. If you can charge at home 90% of the time, then an EV would work for you just fine. I never recommend someone buy an EV if they would rely on public charging infrastructure 90% of the time.

Kudos to Audi for getting away from the virtue signaling that comes with so many electric cars, "I'm electric, I'm odd...see my recyclable cork dash inlays?" Now, if the industry can get the price down and if the electrical infrastructure at home (let alone on the road) can support the conversion. I think it was in 2020 that 25% of all people who had electric cars in California turned them in and went back to ICE because they would charge their cars all night and then only get 8 to 10 miles of range on standard household power. Really, has anyone done the math as to if we changed over in the next five years, what kind of electrical infrastructure that would take? The cost of installing 240v in every home? Well, that aside, kudos to Audi for making a cool car that happens to be electric; not an electric car that shouts to the world, "I'm morally superior and have the money to prove it."

    • @justinschultz4325
      @justinschultz4325 2 роки тому

The average commuter would be just fine charging with a 110 outlet while they sleep. 110 EVSE's typically give 6 miles of range per hour. I know many EV owners who never bother with installing level 2. My electrician friend installed a 240 outlet in my garage for $150. That was an easy decision for me even though I didn't need it. I can now get 12 miles of range per hour even though my EVSE only pulls 12 amps. Each individual needs to research for their own use case.

  • @THEsoulquarian

Kind of looks like a Camaro from the front. Since there’s no ICE, I don’t understand why the grille needs to be so large. But I’m glad that there’s more EV’s entering the market. Even though this is out of most people’s price range, it’s only a matter of time before more affordable options start popping up.

at 7:36 in the accord hybrid touring review, immediately after saying the “headrests are slim….” you said “but theyre not heated and cooled and massaging “; if you werent referring to the headrests what were you referring to- the seats themselves?!? You KNOW they are heated and cooled (but not massaging). WTF. WHY complain about the regenerative paddles on the steering wheel--???-- are they a BAD thing for christ sake!?! Would you have preferred that Honda installed regenerative braking switches on- the ceiling? If you’re unable to review a car with an open diff impartially, then dont review it at all. The droning is temporary. And y’all are the ONLY reviewers who complained that the seats are patently uncomfortable!!!!! Whats up with that!?!

For around half the price, the Tesla Model 3 performance is faster, has more HP, is around 1k lbs lighter, and handles well. The audi has a much better interior. I considered the Taycan at the time I got my Tesla but couldn't justify the price difference for less performance. Owning the Tesla has recalibrated my expections on cars. If the car doesn't have a clutch pedal, it had better be electric going forward for me.

@@petewick8627 I somewhat agree. If you haven't actually experienced it, it sounds crazy. The car the M3P replaced was a Civic Type R and my weekend car is an NSX. I've owned a lot of different great drivers cars over the years (e46, e90, Legacy GT, multiple Miatas, Fiesta ST) and this is just a different experience. I will add another negative to the car though. The seats aren't up to the performace level of the car. They are very comfortable but don't have enough lateral support. It would be like BMW putting 330i seats in an M3.
