Shows he learned from his Padawan days: you don’t need your saber to win a fight. Also he tosses Reva’s weapon back at her. Ultimate burn pun intended lol
Also because she was nothing to him. He is so much more powerful than her that he felt she wasn't enough of a threat to use his saber
Just like Yoda did to Ventress showing her she was no threat to him it's really the ultimate insult in force users
🔥. 😆
Thanks for summary
Nah he was just punking her
That scene really had me smiling, it just shows how boss Darth Vader is, with or without his lightsaber. while making Reva look like a child.
Cuz she is a child. A dead one now
vader was 'bout it
If you really wanna see Vader as a monster play fallen order
@@Smellmyduty I have.
I couldn´t smile at all realizing that she was one of younglings that Anakin slaughtered.
I'm so happy Hayden is getting the love he should've gotten years ago. For those of you still on the fence about him as an actor allow me to point something huge out. That's Hayden inside that Vader costume. Now he's full Vader his performance by and large is no longer his. In order to maintain conrinuity he more than likely studied David Prowse and his performance as Vader. Vader bares little resemblance to Anakin. Hayden put in serious work here to make sure his performance as Vader is identical to Prowse's performance. Bravo
There are 3 people playing Vader for this series. It’s been great that you can’t really tell when they are switching out. Hayden is doing the majority though and I agree with your comment!
They had a "Vader Movement" specialist on set to get their movements in the right ballpark, was how he put it in an interview.
Don't forget J.E.J!
people that hated on his acting are so stupid. The only thing he did wrong was nothing. I always loved the prequels and Im glad im not one of those star wars elitists and i can actually enjoy stuff
They should have had him voice Vader. JEJ is great but the man is old and will step down soon.
Think about how this compares to Obi-Wan vs Maul in Rebels. Obi ends Maul quickly, and despite Maul having taken so much from him, still comforts him during his last moments. Vader simply toys with Reva, humiliates her efforts, reminds her of her greatest fear and in the end leaves her to die alone. Perfectly showcasing the difference between the Light and Dark side of the Force.
Vader might have at least respected Maul ... Reva was garbage who thought highly of herself,,, Seriously the screaming was like a toddler
@@edstringer1138
Yes. And the story tries the damnest hard to jam her as the protagonist.
Disgusting.
I think in the end Obi-Wan and Maul finally came to an understanding. The Emperor took everything from both of them and in the end they were fighting the same battle if in different ways.
It actually reminds me of the first episode of the Clone Wars cartoon where Yoda never drew his lightsaber against Ventress. A show of pure dominance.
I was about to say that.
Is that the 3-D Clone Wars or the 2-D one?

The Spar with Anakin and Kenobi was so good. I like how it showcased Anakin’s aggressive nature and Kenobi trying to train him out of it. It being used as a flashback to set up a chess match of sorts between Vader and Kenobi was brilliant. The show has its flaws but it’s damn good.
would have given this comment a like but didnt want to mess up you likes number :)
I agree a lot
I find it interesting due to the scene in Rogue One where he illuminates his saber at the end of the hallway to assert his dominance over the rebels. Him not wielding his blade vs Reva is very much a "let me show you why this is a bad idea on your part" moment and further solidified the immense power gap between him and just about every other force user at the time who wasn't Obi-Wan or Ahsoka
To be fair, Anakin was far above either of them... the only issue Anakin had was that Obi-Wan knew him too well... anyone else on Obi-Wan's level probably wouldn't have won...
The idea that Ahsoka could give Vader a serious fight has always been ludicrous Mary Sue-ing. Kenobi going toe-to-toe with him makes sense. Ahsoka? Ridiculous plot armor.
@@jetuber definitely. I'm on the side that, everything surrounding Ahsoka is just pure fan service. I've never cared for the character and have found that she doesn't add much to the story. The fact that she was trained BY Anakin means that she at least has knowledge over how he fights so there's that advantage to take into consideration if we're really getting down to the nitty gritty. But in terms of power levels ? Nah, no contest
Or Palpatine lol
In rogue one he wasnt fucking around, thats the difference
I want an R rated series on Vader. Just to show how evil and brutal he was in his early times with the empire
That would be pretty awesome.

Or literally a movie. He deserves it
Only thing is they will be very limited In what they can do with Vader as far as story
@@ikec2894 They have a ton of source material to chose from though, from the books and comics.
I agree with your analysis. Vader didn’t need his lightsaber against Reva. I’d add something else to consider. Vader always sought a partner to help him overthrow Sidious. Vader was testing Reva’s power potential when she was at her most determined. Vader found her lacking and of no further use to him.
Literally this. He's always on the search for a new apprentice to defeat Sidious.
yep, came here to say just this too, it's literally the point of the lesson with Kenobi, he's moved past his need to win, that blinds him to opportunity. There's potential that Reva will have a breakthrough moment here, harness force rage abilities... he's giving her every opportunity to discover that and...strike him down... it doesn't happen, for all her anger, she won't give into the moment of unleashed rage that is a fundamental transition on the path to dark side mastery.
Pfff Vader didnt consider her as a partner at all she is and was a scrub ,Fourth brother manhandled her with the force ......
you would think the inquisitors would be more powerful since he was the one training them, but it seems all of them are fucking weak. for jedi hunters they suck ass at their job
@@cpconstantine huh, really interesting angle, adds a nice new twist to it
When he took her saber and threw one back at her. Straight disrespect 😂 I just know he said to her with the force. “Pick that shit up”
It's a Sith technique called Dun Möch. You make your opponent panic and lose hope by taunting them and making them doubt themselves. By not drawing his lightsaber and for the most part not even speaking, Vader showed Reva he had zero respect for her and she didn't have the slightest chance of winning.
💀💀
@@JC130676
As if Reva deserves any respect 🤣
The whole scene really shows how terrifying Vader truly is.
Vader has always been the most terrifying villain in all of cinema. In Rogue One when he ignites his saber and slaughters all the rebels, I don't think I breathed for a solid 2 minutes. In Kenobi, the flashbacks of Anakin walking into the Temple during Nightfall and just slaughtering all the younglings, I don't think I breathed for 2 minutes. When he caught the starship with the force, I don't think I breathed for 2 minutes. When he didn't draw his saber at all, took Reva's split it in half and tossed the other half back to her, I don't think I breathed for 2 minutes.
this didnt age well after the finale
One thing I will say is even though I personally don't like the character Reva (inquisitors in general) they did a good job. That flashback with Anakin & Obi-Wan was the highlight. Plus, tell me that Vader snatching that ship out of the air wasn't one of the most badass moments in Star Wars period.
Vader grabbing that ship and pulling it just made me smile and remember starkiller doing that😂insanely fun to watch and the way he tears the ship apart kinda cemented that scene as one of the best live action uses of the force so far
Papa Palps force storm gotta be the most badass thing in Star Wars
Vader pulling the ship down just reinforced his plan of letting the rebels survive to thrawrt sidious
Ashoka has already done it
@The Shah Of Iran not just pulling a ship but one that had full thrusters engage... that's like pulling a ship many times the size out of the air.
Vader will ignite his own lightsaber in a fight against someone he respects/deems a worthy opponent, like on Mapuzo against Obi-Wan. This was Vader's way of telling Reva that he couldn't be bothered to put in the effort, she was that low on the totem pole to him.
Edit: Obi-Wan has always meant more to Vader than Sidious. We see an example of one of Obi-Wan's lessons running through Vader's mind years after they've parted. Sidious was a selfish, terrible teacher--the kind who withholds information from you because they feel threatened. He didn't have the traits to be a good teacher due to his hunger for power, greed, and immense need to retain the locus of control. Sidious withheld knowledge from Vader for fear that the latter would figure out his machinations, and didn't teach Vader anything that would make him stronger in the Force or with a lightsaber for fear that Vader would strike him down. Sidious offered to teach Anakin as a way of seducing him, then ended up giving Vader crumbs.
this is something anakin and him after becoming vader did , when he was torture seperatists during the clone wars he didnt even use his lightsaber he just used the force to get what he wanted , but obiwan was not just a physical challenge to vader hes also a emotional one, to him obiwan is the reason hes a cyborg and has to live a painful life ,he wants to prove to obiwan "i am better than you "
Sidious sounds like the superintendent from my old job… I fear he may have returned again!
Vader used his lightsaber in Rogue One
@@Galneryus90 that was more for defending rather than attacking, he force slammed most of the rebellion troops
He drew it against Ezra, but he was obviously an insignificant speck to Vader.
Omg his show of power from pulling the ship down and then him dominating reva was all I needed to make this season whole. And we get one more final episode next week. Cant wait!!
Yeah, I wondering can they even top that episode, but we will see.
Between episodes 4 and 5, the lazy Disney/Lucas Film writers proved Vader can only do something cool with the force, like put out a fire or bring down a ship, once per day.
Time for season II
@@jackthomas2051 kinda makes me wonder why he didn't use that maneuver on the Millenium Falcon as it fled Hoth. Maybe he forgot he could do that. Or maybe nobody thought of it back in 1979 when it was being filmed.
@@swistedfilms Exactly. I wondered why couldn't force pull the Tantive IV in Rogue One. Let's say that Vader subcociously draws his power from heat (Being conceived and born on Tatooine, reaching his full darkside transformation after being fried on Mustafar...) ...this is why his force pull doesn't work that well in space...and on Hoth.🤷♂️
When Vader threw Reva’s half of her saber back it reminded me of a quote he said in the comics, “…ONE lightsaber is all you need”
It’s interesting to see Vader still learning from Kenobi after all these years with Sidious. I wonder if some part of him still respects his former master even if he currently wants to kill him.
I believe he does, especially as time goes on. A trait of accomplished warriors, I believe, is to have respect for your foes, their knowledge and skills. Doesn’t really matter if you want to settle their hash, the respect still exists.
Absolutely, some lessons take revisiting.
This for me is the reason he let obi-wan escape in the fire scene. He is still Anakin under there.
yeah he sees killing obi wan as the final test, kill the man that was one of the best light saber wielders of their time, then whose there to stop him
Let me put that thought to bed.....
No.
Riva was no threat to him. Inquisitors are given limited knowledge of the dark side as to never be a threat to their masters. Even if Reva had all the potential in the world she wouldn't stand a chance... unless she was "all the jedi" 😒🙍♀️
She’s certainly all the Reva though 😍

@@thestarseeker8196 what do u mean by that, your weird af
And the way the grand inquisitor showed up.
That was so dark as Vader knew it the whole time and simply used Reva until she finds Obi-Wan.
Reeeeeva
As Vader said in a comic story: To destroy the rebellion once and for all, they have to understand their situation. They have to feel the fear of death. We have to destroy their hope.
That is what he was doing to Reva. He destroyed all of her hope. He made clear that she would understand she can not kill him and just die in fear.
I loved the battle between the two. Vader was just toying with her. He knew he was vastly more powerful so this was nothing more than just a little exercise for him. It was so good!
He knew she was no threat to him, unlike obiwan and luke
Not gonna lie, disney has commited MANY errors with star wars, but thankfully they nail Vader every time.
Amen
I'm going to disagree slightly here and say that in this series they've nailed Anakin: this is a younger Vader, closer to the impetuous and impatient Anakin than the measured, calculating, patient Darth Vader of the OT. You can hear it in the dialog and even the order of the dialog. Example: when Vader is informed of Obi Wan's location he didn't immediately order setting a course for the planet. Instead, he congratulated Reva and then ordered the destination change. It's subtle but it's there.
This was probably my favorite scene of the series so far. Loved watching her get owned like that.
When Rebels came out - some of the info we were given on the Inquisitors was that they were trained in hunting, tracking, and lightsaber combat. Vader withheld deeper knowledge of the force from the inquisitors so that he would never have to worry about a rival. The only real exception was the grand inquisitor since he was established at the Jedi Temple. I took this scene strictly as a show of dominance.

I like to imagine that Palpatine eventually got to see a holo of Vader’s fight with Reva and actually had a moment of pride in his Apprentice for the level of disrespect he showed her
Lol, I see Sidious barley even noticing, had his apprentice EVER drawn a Saber against the weakling inquisitors, it would have been a disgrace against the Sith. . .
I know he sensed it for sure wifh his near galactic awareness
I think it was a training exercise for himself. He remembered when Kenobi beat him without a weapon. This shows that Vader is maturing as a force wielder. He is telling himself he must improve and learn his lesson. That (like Kenobi before him), he is the one doing the teaching
Kenobi taking his saber was so stupid. The fight was over! If it was a real fight Anakin would have just sliced him up
Vader is untouchable when he is calm and collected. But when he fights with pure rage and emotion, he becomes weak. That is why Obi-Wan bested him twice. He still needs to mature.
@@ben1ben2ben1 I think it was another lesson from Obi-Wan to Anakin, to teach him that even when an opponent looks beaten, they could turn things around at the last moment. Something that Anakin had to teach Ahsoka back in TCW.
It was honestly a lot of fun to watch Vader toy with and just completely own her. And then Grand Inquisitor coming back and roasting her was also fun. Good episode :D
A Vader solo series? I second that emotion! If this were to happen, there is so much material to draw from. I myself am torn between two possibilities. One option, could be to use a Vader series to finally begin addressing, in live action, who I consider to be the greatest character in Star Wars. Thrawn. Using the material from the epic team ups of Anakin and Thrawn as well as Vader and Thrawn. The second option could be to use the series to introduce Aphra. Seeing as how the decided to include Black Krrsantan in Boba Fett, it’s only a matter of time until they bring Dr. Aphra into the fold. It would also be highly entertaining, considering that she is one of the few characters who are dangerous and resourceful enough to momentarily disable Vader. Anyone who is not familiar with the endlessly entertaining dynamic between Vader and Dr. Aphra, needs to rectify this grievous oversight post haste. Vader has immense respect for the character of Aphra. Though he can obviously sense her fear of him, her use of humor, as well as her vast and invaluable knowledge of weapons and tactics is most likely perceived as a refreshing change which diffuses his otherwise crippling presence. An added bonus, would be the fact that any live action rendition of Dr. Aphra, must needs include Triple-Zero and I personally think that having Anthony Daniels provide the voice of the black mirror reflection of Threepio would be great. The sadistic and misanthropic nature of the ancient Triple-Zero personality matrix in a shiny, jet-black torture-protocol droid body would be my idea of a Kamino-wet dream come true!
Vader embarrassed her and made it look like a chore. This was so bone-chilling like an old-school horror film when he threw her back a lightsaber like here, it was over before it began.
She was not even close of being worthy of having a real duel with Vader, which is why he didn’t bother drawing his own.
she almost had him tho :D

@@michaelhighlights1614 what show were you watching
Your missing the point the importance of this fight scene is because of what happened in the flashback when Obi Wan was disarmed and how he didn't need a lightsaber to fight and win and he used Obi Wan's teaching right here
No. What happened with Reva was not what Obi tauht him. Obi was specifically referring to not needing a lightsaber to win a fight against someone who is your equal or better, or against a threat. Reva never finished her training and was running off pure emotion, knowing she was no match. Obiwan and Anakin´s was way past that.
It could definitely be interpreted that way? But I think the much simpler and likely answer is that it is a common troupe to demonstrate the gap in skill level between any characters
We need a dedicated Vader series that starts right after Episode III.
You also gotta remember that Vader can sense and pinpoint emotions like he did with Luke in RoTJ. He sensed Lukes worry for his friends, that's also how he found out Luke had a twin sister.
The Vader stuff in this episode was fantastic. The fight with Reva, pulling the transport out of the sky and ripping it open. That was badass. They really are showing Vader at the peak of his power and anger in this show I feel. I also like that in this episode and the last episode they’ve shown some good scenes of action with Obi Wan and he seems more comfortable using the force and his lightsaber now. I really thought he would finally commune with Qui gon in this episode but maybe they’re saving it for the final one. If that doesn’t happen I’ll be pretty pissed
I feel like they HAVE to include qui gon. If you remember, in episode one they showed the scene from RoTS where Yoda says he will train obi to reach qui gon. It’d be pointless to include that scene if it didn’t come full circle in episode 6, you know?
It’s probably gonna be what happens at the end right before the credits. We see Obi Wan watch over Luke. Then either we hear Qui Gon speak then or when it cuts to Obi Wan meditating. My two cents tho

Vader did admit he went all in on Luke in ROTJ so no Luke defeated him and managed to turn him to the lightside.
Makes me think of the fight scene between Yoda and Count Dooku in Attack of the clones. They trade force knowledge in battle until Dooku says, "It is obvious that this contest cannot be decided by our knowledge of the force, but by our skills with a lightsaber." I never thought about that line much until watching this video. It seems like a lightsaber battle is seen as sophomoric by older experienced force users. It's almost like the lightsaber is a training tool for the force. Once you have mastered your knowledge of the force, the lightsaber is more like a fun toy or a support tool. Great video!
Wrong conclusion. It means that it’s easier to come to a stalemate with the force alone and that the additional layer of a physical and skill based contest in addition to the force will decide the outcome.
In the Darth Bane novels force users are constantly probing each other for weaknesses within the force (like a mental chess game) which is easy to defend as long as you can maintain focus unless one force user is extremely more powerful and can just overwhelm them.
The lightsaber combat adds complexity to the challenge. How much of their mental energy is being put into the duel vs focusing on the force.
The better duelist can begin to wear down their opponent’s concentration and allow them to penetrate with the force (stunning them, distracting them) to land a fatal blow.
The movies portray it simply as a martial contest with the occasional force push landing against a distracted opponent but the battle is occurring within the force at the same time.
This is the same reason why you almost never see Palpatine draw his blade. He and other Sith Lords felt that lightsabers were beneath them and that their prowess with the force meant that they never needed to use them. For the most part, he was right. Palpatine was so overwhelmingly powerful in his force abilities that he only ever drew it for the likes of Mace Windo and Grandmaster Yoda.
@@zoraster3749 Completely agree, they can even sniff out the other's next movement if you lose the balance between physical and sort of telepathic warfare going on at every moment.

A most excellent episode with just enough of a tease for the finale to make me think it can still get even better from here. What I enjoyed most though was how despite Vader having clearly learned some things, Obi-wan still has a unique ability to have his number. That ship fake out was fantastic.
5th episode was really good. Seeing everything build to this point has been great and if I had to guess, I think Reva is going to challenge Obi-Wan on Tattoine alone since she can't possibly get her revenge on Vader. It would make the most sense as now, she has absolutely no reason to return to the empire but she is likely still full of hate for what happened during Order 66.
I’m thinking (wishfully maybe) that she ends up going into exile and gradually just trying to heal from all the trauma.
@@thestarseeker8196 Not looking good for her. Her character is not protected by canon or plot armor so she is expendable. PLUS She knows too much now.
@@sciencexl true, but the thing is they effectively wrapped up her arc *without* Vader taking her out. So I have to wonder why. I reckon it was exactly as Obi said. Anakin has to prove himself. So in being reminded of him losing to his master without a lightsabre and then effectively losing to his old master again when he didn't have use a lightsabre, Anakin had to win without using his lightsabre. This further proves Obi's point and showed that Anakin still hasn't learned that lesson and imo he never does.

The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.

@@williampearson6299 I'm honestly disappointed that she wasn't dead when Vader left her tbh, I hoped Vader would've made sure to finish the job. I can't imagine that he'd leave her without knowing she was still alive. Unless that too is part of his greater plan, I wished Reva to be gone. From the beginning he was knowing about her betrayal, he just used her to get Kenobi... At no moment he took full advantage of her work tho, he didn't finish Obi wan... so yeah for me he's really like a predator playing with his food. I think Vader let obi wan go in EP3, because he wanted feel Kenobi how he, Anakin felt when Kenobi did this to him... He stands there and watches the flames, and remembers slowly what happened with him when he was burning, Anakin! I think it was this reason... he got emotional, and he wanted Kenobi feel the fire pain.
I view it as, he let her have a taste of the revenge she so desperately wanted, he didn’t want to just kill her, he wanted to let her have a go at him, even though he knew full well she was no match for him and basically he just toyed with her, I believe he knew the entire time exactly who she was and that he was playing it off letting her believe she fooled him into thinking she was his loyal servant like the others. To me it sounds very much like an Anakin move, letting her fight him fairly, seeing what she’s got, and most likely was waiting for it to happen all those years of her serving him. Watching the duel i was kind of imagining the same kind of thing happening between him and Ahsoka, he enjoyed toying with her, enjoyed watching her get frustrated and angry that she couldn’t beat him. And he also used what he had learned from Obi Wan too, i could imagine him quietly smiling or smirking behind that mask.
Very good breakdown!!!
The whole "force barrier" is completely subjective plot armor only used when needed to explain away the force not being used directly against targets. The same is used when they explain away the force being tiring to use like Vader couldn't have just ripped the second ship down like he did the first. However Count Dooku literally force chokes Obi Wan into the air in a fight effortlessly and sends Anakin across the room. There is no "force" barrier passively active, at best they can actively defend themselves through focus hence the dangerousness of Mace Windu and Form VII.
Another good example is Sidious taking down Jedi masters behind Windu like they are nothing with a force scream. Vader does not actually believe lightsabers are unnecessary he strongly believed in the blade like Dooku, however his power level as you said is insanely above Reva and all the Inquisitorius. She couldn't break his focus if she tried her hardest which is what it requires to really fight 1 on 1 with any educated force user. There is more to the sequence that's really overlooked, like how he uses 0 extra moves at any point, and he is somewhat nimble for wearing the suit. This gives us a great idea of how far he has come since actually being nearly killed by Obi wan. It also gives an idea of how much stronger the chosen ones really are even when severely injured.
Force barrier ITSELF is definitely NOT plot armor 💀 it’s a logical explanation. It’s simply used similar to plot armor in movies. Pick up a comic.
Using the Force makes people tired throughout the series.
Came here to say something similar. Even when a comic is canon the subtle thing like that are not guaranteed crossover as theses showriteres are quick to tell you. They decide almost case by case what exist in their shows and unless they establish it it isn't there. I read all the novels and in the new canon that kind of thing is not fleshed out well like it used to be in Legends. My proof example from this particular show would be when she stabs the Inquisitor. Based of the workings of the force we know and how dark side users operate she should have never been able to get that that attack off on him like he didn't have any idea it was coming. So yea in the comics or not it wasn't in this show.
He can’t pull the second one out for two reasons he probably exhausted his power by the time it came out and two he was ready for it it moved before he had a chance to grab it
The force barrier is a 'passive' thing. But like any sort of 'enhancement' it does need to be somewhat maintained. Which requires energy and focus. The way I view it is that without focus on it, it is less a 'barrier' and more a tactile sense, letting them known when someone is attempting to use the force on them. The example from Dooku vs Obi and Ani makes sense as Obiwan and Anakin having not actively dialed up theirs, leaving it at a 'low' level, planning to dial it up and down as need, so as to conserve energy. Dooku yanked Obi faster than he could react, and by the time he started raising his shields, he was already losing blood flow, and thus couldn't muster the focus to throw it off. Anakin, in his haste to get Obi-wan free, was focused on the wrong thing, and thus got launched.
Sidious vs the masters:
Force scream is, canonically speaking, a rare thing to be able to control on demand (it's actually usually seen mostly in self-taught adepts, both dark and light, iirc), and an exceedingly taboo thing for jedi. Put simply, the Jedi weren't expecting a force power that required no real buildup first. Mace, being one of the most conlict-minded of the council, and more competent in combat in general, had his guard up from the get-go, and thus wasn't overwhelmed by the same Force scream that staggered the others and left them open long enough for Palps to start culling numbers.
honestly not surprised by her limits in skill. most of the other inquisitorious were fallen jedi or padawans that were pretty far along their training
Reva comparatively didn’t even have her training wheels off
I absolutely loved how didn’t even use his lightsaber. It was just one insult after another being thrown at Reva to show how he was beating her effortlessly.
Also goes to show he still respects Obi Wan because he made sure to use his lightsaber right away for that fight.
I wouldn't say respect he hates obi wan but he can't defeat obi ean without q lightsaber while obo wan I using ine
Thank you for this video.
I loved it. I also liked seeing Obi-Wan Kenobi using more hand-to-hand fighting
We also now know thanks to this that Maul is using half of an Inquisitor's lightsaber in Rebels.
Or perhaps a whole one but with only half the ring since Maul's is still double bladed. Since we see that after the ring folds in, it then turns 180° and looks just like Maul's.
They show how maul got that saber in rebels
@@jonathanmiller8203 no they don't! He just has it in Solo and in Rebels. We've never seen how or when he acquired that saber.
You are the best man. No hate, no whinning. You accept what was given and break down lore, the way it is supposed to be.
Star Wars Theory is very professional as well. Even when he states his dislike, he’s incredibly nice and respectful and gives Disney every benefit of doubt. He’s not vitriolic like a lot of other UA-cam pundits/creators.
@@treycarter6736 Nothing wrong with being vitriolic, especially against an industry that purposely puts supports under failing IP's in the form of false advertising, false numbers, false scores. I agree, it is nice to have an outlet that will treat certain IP's with more kindness. But we do need the voices of people that are harsher as well. It keeps the industry on its toes and can effect change that is for the better.
If you didn't know, the harsh criticism of the prequel trilogy effected the change that gave us the greatest Star Wars Series ever .. the Clone Wars.
Lucas stood by his prequel work but used the animated Clone Wars to improve upon the design he had laid out.
We all need critique to improve.
This channel isn't shilling out likes for the sake of it, which is great. As I stated before, the positive overview is absolutely needed. But don't try to down other channels when they express their disdain. Their honesty might give us another Clone Wars and bring back the greatness... The love of Star Wars, the love it deserves, rather than the great divide we unfortunately have to watch today.
BTW: Disney Vader, literally the only individual I respect in the Disney canon (this includes his comic run), is freaking amazing. Change my mind.
Yeah i mean it’s like some people are always looking for some whole narrative or something to complain about, I mean obi vs Vader fight was honestly really dope it felt inspired by the edit of scene 38 it felt like that to me, flash back to anakin as a padawan training was freaking awesome and wasn’t expecting that, Vader using the force to hold the ship, and I actually like the story of the third sister it goes along with the story of the second sister trilla padawans brainwashed to serve the empire, I mean I honestly don’t really see any reason to complain about this story, I understand if you didn’t like the sequel trilogy, but they made up for that with Mando, not so much boba, but this series is good I’d say solid 7-8 outta 10
@@theramblingmillennial3770 The vitriol is annoying and doesn't keep these companies on their toes, especially not Lucasfilm and Star Wars.
All it does is make the fandom unwelcoming and makes the creators want to distance themselves from their work. Lucas sold off Star Wars because Star Wars fans were so unreasonable about the prequel trilogy.
Not to mention, a bunch of these angry piss babies are just using Star Wars criticism as an outlet to push their political views and are acting in bad faith.
The hate the prequel trilogy got also harmed the sequel trilogy and made Lucasfilm too scared to acknowledge episodes 1-3 in it. It made them play it safe with episode 7 and gave us a rehash. Then when people complained about that, they took a hard left turn with episode 8. And then when people went absolutely apesh*t over 8 made episode 9 into a sloppy mess that's made by committee.
Not saying vitriolic critics are the only reason the sequels failed, far from it. Lucasfilm having no plan and no balls is ultimately what damaged it. And I'm not saying there's no place for negative reviews. But a bunch of those guys hate on Star Wars because they've cultivated a fanbase and business model that relies on being hateful. They can be just as untrustworthy as the corpos.
@@FerociousPaul Thank you for reading my frankly long statement. I don't exactly agree with everything you said but I understand the points made. And yes, the toxic side of the fandom is well... Toxic. But it's important to have criticism. That is my only point. Critique leaves room for improvement.
One thing you didn't mention. Kenobi's final word of correction to Anakin is about his need to "prove" himself. Vader is still needing to prove himself, showing Reva just how much he outclasses her...
You are right on with your assessment.
Just paused your vid and watched that fight again. That was actually an amazing fight. Vader was doing some force kung fu shit wasn’t he?
There were some really strange backwards shapes and stuff too.
Whoever choreograph’d that get’s a thumbs up from me.
VAder looked like the fight from Executioners from Shaolin 1977 with Pai Mae.
🤣🤣🤣 def Kung fu moves. His suit was inspired by the samurai tbh, so...
He fought without a weapon and force-pulled a lightsaber, not because of any lore regarding Palpatine (who isn't even a character in the series), but because he spent the episode remembering a duel with Obi-Wan that he lost in this manner.
Why can't it be both
I need an entire series about Vader and his Inquisitors. Just Vader hunting jedi, torturing/training his Inquisitors, chilling in bacta, reporting to palps, meditating, repeat. Done. Perfect series.👌
Never gonna happen as this is meant to be something for children..
6:44 i love that you referenced darth bane
To me it just showed the true power of Vader and just playing with her. He showed himself to be the true apprentice of sidius
The disrespect he gave to her was glorious
Great analysis of Reva.
I think your analysis of Reva was correct in regards to her inner turmoil weakening her. Initially I mistook your meaning of turmoil as her not being committed to the darkside but then you mentioned bane. I remember it just as you said, his turmoil was not him not committing to the darkside but rather him being conflicted with killing a person who was not a threat. I hope star wars continues to show how the mindset has a huge influence on a force wielders power. This was a great video.
The scene represents Vader’s growth and stagnation. Blending Sidious and Obi-wan’s teachings or disciplines. Sidious believes he is strong enough in the force and lightsabers are unnecessary. Obi-wan prefers soresu which focuses on your opponent exhausting themselves and then defeating them. Therefore, the scene shows Sidious and Obi-wan’s influence on Vader/Anakin. Yet it represents Vader’s flaws or stagnation. Vader is mimicking his masters and still cannot overcome them. Which is fitting…
He overcame kenobi a loong time ago, my friend

Honestly this episode made me dislike revas character a lot less. I'm more neutral on her now, still not a fan of her behavior in the earlier episodes but at least they are trying to develop her further. I'm was so hyped to see vader absolutely destroying everything in his path
The problem is her lines and delivery/acting are cringe. It doesnt work at all.
@@gagelindell271 ehh I think her delivery is alright. As for her lines I think they're meant to seem a little over the top and cringe. Kinda like she's trying too hard you know? I mean I don't think you're ever actually supposed to fear her or take her seriously. She's really just an annoying baby with a lot of power. Nowhere near Vader's awesome power but still enough to be a problem. I just can't wait for Obi Wan to finally kill her. I mean yeah I feel bad for her childhood but still chose her path up to this point.

That sabers-less fighting is epic. Needs its own dedicated video with nothing else but just showing the fighting
Listen Vader stopped that ship from taking off with just his force of will. Shows how powerful he is and how he holds back. Gave me goosebumps💯
I love how we can talk about Star Wars and these subtle meanings actually make sense now, the level of training, your connection to the force etc.. Not the bs we got in 7/9.
I also have a theory about Vader specifically using Reva's weapon, due to the way it was done. It's fairly clear that an Inquisitor Saberstaff is designed to come apart, but no Inquisitor had been seen doing this before to my knowledge, despite the Jedi training its members in Jar'kai Dual Blade Fencing.Given the motions we observe, my theory is that the separation of an Inquisitor's weapon is ceremonial, representative of (and done only while) challenging a superior in the Inquisitorius for dominance. It would be in keeping with the Rule of Two (after a fashion) while limiting the Inquisitor during the bout. Not only did Vader not need his own weapon for the fight, using Reva's upholds the doctrin of the Inquisitorius while also furthering his dun moch victory over Reva.
Solid analysis. It actually made me appreciate Reva more.
That scene of Vader stopping the ship and tearing it apart was epic. Hope they make a pop of it 😅
This scene, to me, mirrored the flashback where Anakin was training with Obi Wan. Its just fighting without the intention to kill.
That being said, i dont think its the last time we see Reva here and im pretty excited whats gonna happen to her, i hope she survives and fully shift to the light side.
Vader stabbed this chick for the second time in 10 years after effortlessly mixing her like a fruit smoothie; as of right now, she is *_NOT_* coming back.
That’s definitely what’s gonna happen, it seemed pretty obvious to me from the get go. That’s why they opened with Order 66. To make you sympathetic towards Reva.

I love how you CHUDs literally don't even bother trying to mask the fact that you just get butthurt whenever there's a main character who isn't a white guy no matter what.
It showed the Grand Canyon-like difference between Vader, a Sith Lord and the Inquisitors.
I like this explanation.
I love how it demonstrated just how powerful, and terrifying an opponent Vader is. Reeva thought she could just strike him down in revenge, and ended up getting tossed around like a rag doll. I honestly loved the way they did that fight. Vader/Anakin is supposed to be one of the most powerful force wielders ever, so to see him dismissively toss around an opponent....it really does put into perspective how outclassed almost everyone else is. They did that fight perfectly. Also I love the fact that he never once drew his own blade because it wasn't necessary.
When I saw him rip that ship apart after pulling it down you really think to yourself how much more power he has in comparison in the force and his Peak Performance as a dark side user with robot limb this is not including what he would be if he never got chopped up by Obi-Wan even more powerful than Yoda or Darth Sidious if he never got chopped up
that's not cannon anymore, he didn't lose any potential from the injuries (I know that used to be the case because less midichlorians but its now about the concentration of them not amount, so its still 20k per cell)
And then he went on cooldown
Yes no other sith can top Vader except palpatine and dooku were very interesting they were once jedis and all but vader is still no1
This is honestly the best Darth Vader scene they've done in Star Wars.
Weird how some of the best Vader stuff has come from Disney.
Star Wars Rebels him lifting up those walkers
Rogue One Scene
Kenobi Ep. 5 moment
Since I'm seeing this video after already finishing Obi-Wan Kenobi, I really liked seeing more of that Force potency that the prequels built up Anakin to have but never really showed, and same for the OT. Yeah, he force chokes people and throws a couple things, but nothing that really showed his strength in the Force in great measure. His battle with Reva, and previous rending of the ship, really displayed what he was capable of that we just haven't gotten to see ever before except in the likes of The Force Unleashed with Starkiller/Galen Marek. Initially, my reaction was that it didn't feel like Vader because he's never been displayed that way in cinematic media but as I've rewatched and thought about it, considering the great Force feats I've seen in games instead, it felt like it added that depth to him that was always missing cinematically. Galen Marek tore a star destroyer into the planet in mid-launch. It was traveling at at least near-escape velocity AWAY from him and he tore it back to the planet. Why couldn't he beat Vader? Now Obi-Wan has given us that answer. Vader was far stronger in the Force than he's ever really been cinematically depicted.
SPOILER ALERT (just in case SOMEONE reading this hasn't watched the series/finale just yet):
Further to that point, his battle with Obi-Wan in the finale, we see him shatter the earth, another fairly great feat of strength in the force, and toss Obi-Wan around similar to Reva, signaling the breaking of Obi-Wan's Force shield as well. Reva was child's play but Obi-Wan was a full-fledged (albeit fairly fresh) Jedi Master during the Clone Wars, and even with 10 years out of practice, his skills and strength returned very quickly to nearly his levels at the end of Revenge. Breaking through his shield would have been no easy feat compared to Reva's shield and yet Vader tossed him several times.
Overall, the show really gave us what we needed to see, not just read, in order to really grasp Vader's strength. This was as much his show as it was Obi-Wan's and, personally, I loved the finale. It was a beautiful narrative that fairly cleanly connected Revenge to A New Hope (compared to some other Disney attempts with Star Wars *COUGH*Last Jedi*COUGH*).
I agree completely with your assessment.
I also have one or two thing that you touched on.
Reva was a Child, still learning the very basics of the force.
When she began her training as an inquisitor, her training was focused on Hunting, interrogation and fear.
She is not Jedi or Sith, just a tool.
Her training in either side of the force is very much incomplete.
Vader in this series is frightening
You can see that he (I believe) is a Master of the Darkside, he ripped that ship apart. I can see how he hunted and killed so many Jedi.
Not as ruthless all the time. You could see her discomfort when it came to leah. When she was about to torture Leah, she was suffering as well. Yelling out to leah to "say something!" And then "you've brought this on yourself." Clearly she was fighting against her own good nature. She wanted revenge, and was willing to go against her own nature to get it. But she was always suffering in silence. And she was not able to draw out the darkness and use it as effectively as those who had lost all hope, and embraced the dark side completely.
What she really wanted, was to understand, and seek justice for her slain family. She just convinced herself that revenge would suffice, and that as long as she was able to kill him, that it just might be enough so that she could forgive herself for being so weak, and not dieing along with the others. Or being somehow stronger, and able to stop the slaughter. Or save her friends. Rationally, she knows that was impossible, but emotions are rarely rational. She has survivor's guilt, and a crisis of self, that she is dealing with. Its no wonder that her access to the force, and its strength, is suffering.
Ok
Ok
ThankYou for this
@@LadyjediDjedet your very welcome.
It's one thing to get bested against an opponent who put up a really good fight; it's another thing to get bested by someone who didn't think you were worth the effort.
The one thing about human nature is that we crave recognition and respect. We want our ideas, talent, identity to be acknowledged even if it's not accepted. We would rather be something than nothing. The kid who doesn't win a contest is going to feel better if the judges acknowledge that he had a shot rather than the judges being embarrassed that he's even trying. The applicant who doesn't get the job will feel confident when the employer tells them we thought you were a strong candidate compared to the one who tells them they wasted their time. The warrior who loses a battle will feel vindicated when his opponent acknowledges that he was a worthy adversary compared to the one who is unaffected.
To give an example, I had a horse competition in my youth that my instructor advised me to sign up for with all the other kids in my stable. When I got there, it was clear that I was way out of my league and that I had no business competing against these experienced riders, many of whom were adults (the other girls all had their own horses so they had the time to train and the experience to be at a competition like this; I did not). It not only hurt to get disqualified because I was not skilled enough for it, I felt like when I did my courtesy ride (a ride they let you do so that you can gain experience even if you're not in the running anymore) and failed, I was an embarrassment for thinking I could do it in the first place. It was an event that discouraged me for a number of years and created this weird dynamic between me and the other riders where I constantly felt like they were humoring me by including me. It wasn't until I went to college and my instructor told me that the girls started riding the horse I worked with that they realized how hard he was to handle and said to my instructor directly "I have a lot more respect for her now", that I finally felt vindicated.
We would rather have our efforts be recognized, to hear "I acknowledge that you are worth my time" than to win. Reva was hoping for Vader to recognize her as a worthy opponent. Someone who acknowledged her skill with the lightsaber, the Force, her dedication to her revenge. She was hoping for a great battle with this dark lord to prove that her lifelong quest for revenge was worth it. He was not going to give her that satisfaction and was going to school her in a show of dominance. It wasn't even a contest
Thanks for this
He used her as a training dummy.

I hope you see my comment. Off topic question
Kenobi Series takes place 10 years after the order 66. The Events of the the Ahsoka Novel took place in those 10 years. The Events took place 1 year after order 66. At the end the book Tano started helping Bail with Rebaillion work. Do you think he kept Ahsoka being alive a secret from Kenobi. Because I don't understand why he left Luke on Tatooine unprotected. Kenobi would have told Bail Organa about the Inquisitor on Tatooine and threatening Owens and his family life. I could see him saying:
I know you don't want to leave Luke unprotected. I have a trusted person that me and you will feel comfortable with protecting Luke. We don't have to tell her the full details. All she needs to know is she's protecting a Senators son and family. Kenobi would ask who is this trusted person. Bail would say Anakins former Padawan Ahsoka Tano. Kenobi would be shocked to know she's still alive. He would agree but he tells Bail that Ahsoka can not know he's alive and not to tell her about Anakins turn to the darkside. Also tells him that she has to keep her distance from the boy. Not to have any contact with the family.
Because honestly they won't lie to Ahsoka about Luke being a Senators child. Luke is a son of Senator. Ahsoka doesn't need to know what Senator.
Or do you think Bail Organa keeps Ahsoka being alive a secret from Kenobi
Ashoka went into hiding and beyond Cody and a few clones, nobody knew she was alive that was a part of this story...it's possible Obi-wan did but as for where she was we can't assume much. So being Bail Organa knew she was alive he would have NEVER dragged her into it and expose her to Vader
