I have the same issue, since the beginning. It's a refurbished ps5 so it's possible that it's just the cable that is not right in place. When I insert a Disc nothing happens. No media visible in the library and still getting SU-101312-8 when trying to update. No login into play station network possible of course because i need the latest version.
У меня такая проблема перед каждым новым обновлением, два раза такое уже было и через какое то время обновление все таки устанавливалось. Я заметил то что, это получалось после того как моя консоль была отключена от розетки и сети около 24 часов
@James-wk4bk Was you PS5 disassembled in the past? If not, there is likely as issue on the motherboard connector. Or the disc drive has a problem. Was the disc drive functional before the issue started?
im having the same issue. went through everything. cable is still plugged in. i unplugged it and plugged it back in. checked all other cables and wires and still getting the same error/ issue. anything else you can think of? im stumped and over frustrated with this PS5. thank you.
@@aalopez89 Sorry for the late response. Would you happen to have a multimeter? You could put it into continuity mode and check both ends of the ribbon cable to ensure there is no break?
Hello brother I have a question. Can this ribbon cable be disconnected even when the console is new and have never been opened? I bought mine in April and I keep having this problem but the console in brand new
@Matthew-fd8bb Hello, this will only be applicable for systems that have been disassembled before. However, I have disassembled a new PS4 in the past, and it had the ribbon cable almost disconnected from drive, causing the drive not to work, which I can only attribute to manufacturing defect. I will encourage you to send it back if you have a warranty.
@@GidFix-pl3lg hey so my disc drive won’t take disc which means can’t update I saw my disc drive power cord was messed so I replaced it and it’s still not taking disc do you think I should try reinitializing to make the system recognize the disc drive?
@TheUnrulyDon Sometimes doing an initialize can help with the disc. However, it should be done as a last alternative if you don't want to loose your stuff and have tried everything else. Just ensure it's not a hardware issue before you initialize.
So after you put it back together , you ended having to factory reset for it to update ? Cause your ps5 said it reinitialized & was resetting before it updated . I’m trying to see if I’m gonna have to do the same
The solution to the problem is to hold the device's power button for 8 seconds until you hear the power-on sound, then click Repair Storage Device, then click Restart PlayStation 5

Yes, exactly. I had to initialize it because that was the only option available, which automatically resets the ps5.
