      @JulianHols Hi, were you getting any sound or pictures when the problem started (when the tv was power cycling). After tapping, if you are not getting any sound or pictures, you may need to tape multiple pins. I will suggest disconnecting the ribbon cables one after the other on the left and right to see if you get half a picture or at least some sound.

    Great info. I had similar issue with a lightly used, four year 75" Samsung QN75Q60TAFXZA. Ordered and replaced the main board $80 and that did not fix the issue so tried this tape method. Covered pins 7 & 8 hoping that would help but the entire left 1/3 of the screen was completing black. Then I covered pins 1-4 and hit the jackpot as 100% of the screen works and looks perfect.

    I'm curious to see what you think about my issue: I have a Samsung 75 inch LCD (circa 2019) model television. Not sure if you know the answer to this (or anybody watching) but my symptoms are that when you go to turn it on, the (Samsung) logo comes on solid at first… and then these horizontal lines develop (which are sort of similar to the horizontal lines we see when you first used the tape)... and then the TV shuts off and goes through that cycle again. (And again) for a while… But it does finally turn on within 15 minutes and works fine. Usually for 10 minutes + it reboots, over and over again. When it's just about to turn on and work (which it does usually in less than 15 minutes of letting it cycle like this) it finally gets past the logo and you start to see the main MENU screen, etc. and then the horizontal lines develop and then it shuts off ... and restarts and then FINALLY, it comes on for a few seconds (with the sound of whatever the TV show is that's playing or whatever) then, it usually goes through one more cycle... and then it stays on (and works perfectly, from that point on (until you turn the TV off again). I'm wondering if that's a power board issue (rather than a main board issue, or the issue you had)? According to the seller who sold it to me, It did start occurring, just after a lightning storm. Do you think replacing the whole power board would do the trick in fixing it? Short of that, is there a particular part (or two) on the power board that would usually be the culprit that I could replace for a lot less money than replacing the whole power board? Even if I have to pay about 125 bucks for a new pwr board, I think it would be worth it. (It's a great TV once it stays on). [After watching your video, I'm guessing it's probably a similar panel problem and rather than open it up and try the tape trick, etc., since it does turn on and stay on after 15 minutes or less, I think I'll just live with it until I can afford to get a new TV. Thank you for posting this video] 🙂

      Hi, thanks for the detailed explanation about your tv and sorry for the late response. Your issue is quite unique and may be a problem from one or multiple sources. Lightning could have partially affected the power supply or both the power supply and panel itself. Usually, i would try to do some elimination. Since you haven't disassembled, it could be best to use it as it is. However, it may eventually stop working. The first thing i would try is to disconnect the motherboard from the powerboard, and switch it on and test the voltages that feed the motherboard with a multimeter. Ensure the tv has been off for a while so that you can provide the same conditions to replicate the fault. If the voltages fluctuate several times before a constant voltage is achieved, then it may be the powerboard. My reservation is with the horizontal lines that show up every time. That could mean nothing or could be an indication of a panel board or panel issue. You could also listen very closely to the TV if there are any buzzing or unfamiliar sounds when the tv is power cycling. If the powerboard gives constant voltage after disconnecting the motherboard, then try disconnecting the panel ribbon cables from the tcon board or motherboard (depending if this tv has a tcon board or is built into the motherboard), switch it on and test the voltage for fluctuations. If it doesn't fluctuate, then the panel driver board or panel itself could be the issue. If you don't have a multimeter, do the above and see how the backlights behave. I hope this can help you for now. Thanks.

    I have a TV with the same issue. I tested the LEDs and they work. I ordered a replacement kit with all three boards. When I installed the new power supply board, the screen works but with two large blank lines running vertically (at the clear ribbon connection points.) So I replaced the main board. When I install the main board, the backlights work but theres no picture at all. When I go back to the old main board, again picture comes on but damaged. The question is- can you possibly tell me why a new main board would show no picture, while the original main board does show picture (poorly)? I don't believe the new main board is defective because I already exchanged it for another. Thank you for any help, and thank you for making this video!

    • @GidFix-pl3lg
      @GidFix-pl3lg 5 місяців тому

      Sorry for the late response. The situation is complex. You didn't mention anything about the TCon board. Was that also replaced? Usually, a vertical blank line may be a faulty tcon board, or faulty panel, or incompatible motherboard. A few things to check are the part number of the motherboards and ensure they are the same. You may want to use all the new boards you received together in the TV, instead of mixing them up with your old parts. One last thing, when you put your old boards back, I assume you don't have a display but have sound, did you check with a flash light to see if those vertical lines showed up? The vertical lines may have been there before the new parts came. Let me know how it goes.

    • @marshallsanchez2070
      @marshallsanchez2070 5 місяців тому

      As far as I understand there’s no Tcon board on this model. Just a power board, main board, and “wireless board.” Regardless yes I did initially replace all three boards with the ones they sent. Backlight works but no picture. When I put the old main board back in, I get the picture with two blank lines. Their tech department responded to a similar question I asked above and said the problem is that my LED has “shorted drive ICs”, which then caused a failure on my power board, and therefore it is not reparable.

    • @GidFix-pl3lg
      @GidFix-pl3lg 4 місяці тому

      @@marshallsanchez2070 My mistake, I got this mixed up with another TV model and thought it had a TCON Board. What baffles me is that the new board does not give the two black lines. The issue should be replicated with any motherboard if the issue is from the shorted drive ICs. But yes, as i said in my last response, vertical lines can be an issue in the panel.

    • @marshallsanchez2070
      @marshallsanchez2070 4 місяці тому

      Yeah that’s what I assumed as well- that interchanging the old main board for a new one should have, at worst, the same results. Try disconnecting the motherboard cable from the power supply board. Then, plug it in and use a multimeter to check the output voltage to the motherboard on power supply to see if there are voltage fluctuations. If the voltage is stable, then it's likely your motherboard causing that.

      Basically, it depends on the tv. You can look at the old led strip and see how they align before you take them off. Usually, I leave one of the old strips for my reference, and after I have lined up and connected at least two new strips, I take the last strip off. Just watch out for groove marks and screw holes that align with the led strip. Hope it helps.

    Hello. Thanks for the nice content. I want to ask a question. There is voltage on ck1 and ck2 on the left side, but not on the right side. Is this normal?

    • @GidFix-pl3lg
      @GidFix-pl3lg 5 місяців тому

      Hi, that is not normal. Did you have tape on the ribbon pins before checking the voltage at ck1 or ck2? If not, check that flex cable for damage. It could also be a faulty capacitor on the drive panel. You could use continuity mode on a multimeter to check them.

    Hey good content... I did the tape procedure like your previous video and got the video but my screen is very white. Is there any problem you can think of? about why the screen will be very white..

    • @GidFix-pl3lg
      @GidFix-pl3lg 5 місяців тому

      I had that issue as well and its because you are covering more pins than needed. Continue to narrow the tape. You need lots of patience in trying out different pin combinations. You may even have to cover just one pin or several pins at different locations. This is a well known issue with this TV. Hope it helps.

      @@GidFix-pl3lg aaah ok that's good to know. Even in several places. Do you think it can happen in two sides of the panel too?

    • @GidFix-pl3lg
      @GidFix-pl3lg 5 місяців тому

      @@MrSahle Yes it is possible. Shorts in the Panel can happen on a single line or several lines depending on the extent of the problem.

      Not much of a difference in my opinion. But check your powerboard schematic to see what voltage value is required at the pins. If the tv is completely dead but you are getting these voltages from the powerboard, then its likely the motherboard has the issue. Also Test the tcon board for any output voltage. Hope it helps.

    Since there's a short, is it not possible to do a continuity test to see which lines were shorted?

      Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, this short seems to be in the panel or screen so it makes it difficult to do such a test.

    After covering several pins with tape = no image, backlight is on. After covering the first pin with tape = no image, backlight is on. When nothing is taped, the TV does not turn on/the red LED flashes and the TV backlight blinks Samsung Crystal UHD 50” TU8002

    • @GidFix-pl3lg
      @GidFix-pl3lg 8 місяців тому

      I am assuming you are taping the connector at the right side of the panel board. Do you get any sound in any of your scenarios? Disconnect the ribbon cable to the motherboard and check if the backlight will still blink when turned on. If you have a multimeter, you could check if your panel board has voltage coming to them.
