I got Fl Studio producer back in 2005, I like the program...but I think Waveform has more of a standard DAW (Cubase, Cakewalk, Studio One type) workflow

@@XELOhh1 FL has No swing in the piano roll without the quantize tool, and swing only functions with a 16th note resolution....I can't do it, I gots to have that 8th note swing.. reaper, waveform, cubase, and cakewalk have it, Imageline needs to address that

I actually like FL but because I'm quite new and dumbass I bought WF 13 as the DAWS workflow layout is FAAAR simpler to use and understand. It's a simple drag n drop n adding in effects om the right side of the particular channel. Manipulating parameters etc within WF is superb. It's far simpler.

@@peterdwyer6118 that's what's up... I like both but the work flow is clunky on both at times I might make a video on that... Thanks for the comment...😀🙏🏾

i have to disagree. Daws are daws. Ableton workflow takes the cake for serious work.. but FL is only improving their offering faster than any other daw.

@@KOSMIKFEADRECORDS what do you disagee with? Not all Daws are made the same some are better at things than others. Ableton work flow is ok to me the main thing I like about Ableton is the warping and sampling but to just work on beats from scratch not so much. Im not a fan of the right side track layout and I dont see many people using Ableton to record vocals or bands with it Im not saying it cant but everyone that I know that uses ableton has a push and they record vocals in another Daw.

I use FL and Serato Studio (i know, right? Hoodathunkit). LMMS is freacking great if you're using linux.....once you get the audio configured (Its been a couple years since I last tried. Ubuntu audio was jank af back then. Is it pulse audio? Whatever their audio kit was was just not the move.). Laid down some flamin guitar in there. Reaper is good over there in Linux Land, too. FL studio ftw tho. Best features with the most consumer/producer friendly structure as far as price and feedback are concerned. Serato needs a refresh. For midi mapping its a dang shame. For mod freaks its a strip tease. FL studio alone is power. FL with a solid controller is OP.

Thanks for making this. Waveform wasn't for me, but I think it's a great option if you can get used to it. Not many are making Waveform videos from a hip-hop perspective. I think many people are cheating themselves by not looking at all their options.

@@ahr3356 there is not a scratch option that I know about in Cakewalk they don't really cater to urban music hence no sampler or drum machine.. you will either need to sample a scratch and add it that way or find a tape stop effect that you can use to slow down and speed up samples... Hope this helps... 😀🙏🏾

I've been using waveform for the better part of 3 years now, I've personally found it great as a techno/rave-esq creator due to the drum pad system, I think FL is great if you want an overwhelming amount of plugin support, but 32bit VSTs dont natively work with waveform, which is a con, however, there's this thing called J-Bridge which makes them compatible (for like 15$) It's pretty nifty.

I think that type of reasoning is why so many people sound exactly alike. I remember when people said the exact same thing about FL. Most of the users were dance music back in late 90s and early 2000s. The first hip-hop producer of note that turned heads wqs probably 9th wonder and then soulja boy popularized it as a hip-hop tool. Then trap came along. Things change quickly.

I used FL online broser to look for drums. It wasn't good experience. A lot of the thousands of sounds are the same samples repeating. It's like someone just dumped bunch of folders carelessly in there not even checking what's inside. And a lot of it is trash. Not good. Better than nothing for sure but not very useful.

@XELOhh1 If you have the patience you will find something. The problem is how things are organized. If you have to go trough three thousand kick drums and the kick you are looking for is number three thousand it would be possible if they divided them in more categories and smaller chunks. Not just "techno" or whatever. Have to group similar drums in separate folders and not have the same drum apear again and again. I'm falling asleep. I can't even finish this post.
