      I agree. I'm not submitting and won't feel safe with a guy who doesn't even feel safe within himself. And it's not my job to show a man how to be masculine or wear the pants. He needs to figure it out himself.

      Smart, godly women absolutely look at a man's past. That will be her future. Equally yoked means similar backgrounds and similar sexual status too. so, a virgin marrying a virgin, etc, etc. a man who's had only one or two partners with a woman the same, etc. Sorry men !!! Men often think they can get away with more. Equally yoked means equally yoked. Especially with sexual history.

      Absolutely. The man I adore is amazing in ministry and I’m often in awe of him. But he has a crazy body count and everytime he shows interest, I find his past messes with me. I didn’t even think I cared like that and I feel bad coz he’s repented and moved past it. Guess I’m not the one 😂

    The thing is my sexual past is not great so whoever I date and one day marry will need to understand that I have had past verbal and emotional abuse from men(my dad/my mom at times and ex bfs) , past sexual sin, past trauma/grief, past mental health issues and I’ve worked very hard to over come them through therapy, support groups and repentance and getting to know God. I am a different person through Christ, of course I have my bad days but I’m not who I used to be, I’m a very strong christian, kind of like a Paul, David and Job story. Hopefully the right guy will see the pain and suffering I’ve endured in my past and love and respect me despite that. Well one can hope:(

Future is important too though. Our callings must align because since I would be his helpmate, I don't want me helping him to completely pull me away from my calling (I'm a missionary so I would never marry a man who didn't have a desire to serve in that way at all.)

    Women were called to the position of helpers, while men to the position of providers (leadership). The truth is that most christian women especially those who had understood the spiritual demands of God for their lives and marriage, are willing to fully submit to their husbands. The problem lies on the fact that most christian man out there haven't understood their spiritual calling in marriage. And they input a heavy burden on their wives, constantly reminding them their need for submission. That becomes spiritual oppression. It's wonderful to have a wife that fits into all these traits and carries such qualities, however men should not diminish their roll while ignoring that they have another human being closer to them who has feelings, wants, needs and desires. The goal here is to figure out together how to cope to each person's demand and work together as ONE! Commitment requires effort from both sides for none is less nor better than the other. But knowing that God is there to help you, mold you and mature you in this walk together, is the greatest satisfaction of all.
    May God bless you all in Jesus name!

    Real woman of the Lord, are not offended by this message. I am a Marine Corps veteran, military police, but I have no problem submitting to my husband as he submits to the Lord. I wasnt raised to think this, but learned this as I grew in the Lord attending women's conferences and hearing teaching. I love being fem, girly, looking to my strong man to protect and represent us. It was not easy to unteach that "I am woman-hear me roar" paradigm, but I love him opening the door, ordering for me, and making the final decison of key things. I feel safe and protected in that arrangement and empowered fully. I love a strong godly man who knows his role and allows me to operate in my role and gift.

      So what happens when your estrogen wanes and he’s looking at internet porn, dreaming of a younger more feminine woman that is not you?
      Not a feminist, and not saying you are wrong. I’d just like to know what a woman should feel think do about all of this when he’s just being a man to you over something temporary. What then of a man’s attraction?
      You said a ‘real woman ofthe Lord’’ would not be offended. It’s not so much that I am offended. It’s more of a supreme ket down. I already know men’s attractions are fickle and worthless because his love is always based on the flesh. But then again the Bible does say ‘’you will long for your husband, and he will rule you.’’

    I like how the attributes of women described in this video are NOT physical ones. They all have to do with one’s character. The world bombards women and men with physical stereotypes that are supposed to be attractive/desirable at every turn. It can be debilitating, especially if you are dealing with a physical problem. For example, I suffered for years with scalp challenges that caused hair loss. This started happening when I was excited about putting myself out there in Christian circles to meet people-Christian men to be exact. The Enemy capitalized on my pain and used it-and still uses it-to keep me withdrawn from socializing. I really had to be intentional about prayer and Bible study to understand what God’s description is of a Christian woman. I also wanted to know the truth about Christian men. I discovered that for Christians-those who genuinely pursue the heart of God-are not “stuck” on outer appearances, but biblical characteristics. I mean at the end of the day, I can have hair like Repunzel😂, but if I am not biblically agreeable, feminine, affectionate, and selective, Christian men are not going to be interested. Ruth had a godly character and Boaz noticed that before any physical attributes.💯🔥💯🔥💪🏽

    Mark, I agree with your points, and you did a great job explaining. Ephesians 5:21 says to “submit to one another out of reverence for Christ”. I am not offended by the word submit, because it is a beautiful thing to have a man worthy of that type of respect! However, I am so over men using 5:22 to prove their point, yet conveniently “overlook” the verse right before it. Why is this? We have been beat over the head with this verse, when the Bible teaches the principle of being submissive to each other. Please respond. Thank you, kindly.

    • @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger
      @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger  3 роки тому +3

      we must not interpret the Bible through one verse rather one verse through the whole of the bible. When you have questions, it's always helpful to look at other Scriptures to help you understand the full context. My understanding is that verse 21 relates to Christians in general (which is why it is often edited into a different section in the ESV) and then verses 22 is about marriage. Throughout the Bible we are told to submit to one another (Like in Philippians 2) but we are also told to submit to our leaders (like in Hebrews 13). So does this mean we leaders should submit to those they follow? My point is, I think there is different context for each of these statements in Ephesians 5:21-22 because it would be contradictory to say husband submit to wives and wives to husbands in 21 but then specifically highlight a husband's leadership and a wife's submission in the next section (Ephesians:5:22-33). The bible emphasizes a wife's submission and husband's sacrifice for the wife rather than co-leadership and co-submission. But as Christians in general, we should all be "submitting" to one another, but that is different than the specific marriage roles

    Oh my goodness it's CRAZY how many clarifications are necessary to say what you're saying. I'm 100% grateful because it can be confusing with how many messages there are out there and how different the message is that our culture promotes. In this video it was navigated well but wow! I pray that each woman who watches this really believes she's beautiful and worthy and that there are good men out there and that God is good and has a plan. I pray any misconceptions about feminity and beauty be penetrated by the Holy Spirit of truth. ❤️‍🔥🕊️
    YES men love those things and I feel very strong as a woman even/ESPECIALLY being those things. I'm proving I'm selective at the moment lol 🤭☺️
    Blessings!!

    Dating has been so disappointing. I’ve been on dates with many men whom the world would consider a perfect catch. Good school, doctor or lawyer, but they never planned dates. It was always “why don’t we meet up and walk around and then get dinner”. That was fine w me. During dinner conversation was great but they texted me for next dates and there’d be no solid plan. I went with the flow. Then during a 10 hr second date I thought I met the one. But all they wanted to do was end with sex and when I refused the momentum slowed down drastically. One of them during dinner asked me about my sexual past and when I revealed it was little he was shocked and thought it was weird I never had sex in high school or college. Weird how a guy would ask or want a woman to have a large sexual past. Especially since we are both 36! Red flags but it was frustrating. Sorry for my rant.

      Your not ranting. A 10 hour date is a bit of overkill. I'd only do that if I was engaged. Also all this texting is inappropriate. People need to talk. Men should ask for a date not text it. That's lazy. I encourage you to only date strong believers. The Bible says we don't marry unbelievers. I also encourage you not to talk about sex on a date. Only with a fiance. I encourage you NOT to date casually. Be friends with a Christian first and only go out if he's serious and intent on finding his wife. He must have a plan.

    Men focus a little too much on outer beauty. That is sad because beauty fades with time. Today’s men are very confused. They want a pure woman but are far from pure themselves. I do not hold out a lot of hope for finding a great guy at this stage of life, my 50s, because often men my age want a 25-year-old, even if women that young have no interest in dating daddy!

      @JAKEBrakeModel94 3 роки тому +6

      @Anna Clare “this Christian Culture” addresses both plenty. Check out more videos from Mark’s channel. He addresses what men desire in partners and what women desire from partners. If you only address one side of the issue, the one side will never fully understand what the other is looking for. Our culture loves to beat up men but then shout them down whenever they voice their desires in a romantic partner. Our culture also loves to try and alter what men want in women and what women want in men. Mark’s videos help provide clarity. In reality, the Bible outlines what men and women SHOULD be looking for in a partner. Those who follow cultural guidance in this manner are bound for disappointment

    Thank you for this video. You touched on a lot of things that have previously been a blockage towards my understanding and acceptance of a biblical God, specifically, in the many ways worldly men both want sexually pure women yet dont figuratively allow for selectivity in the scope of those same women, often using the bible as their vehicle of denigration. I just need a reminder that while guarding our hearts, purity, is important, that the unfortunate delivery of these messages through these certain groups shouldnt keep me from the important points the Bible really has to offer and not turn it away because someone has previously used that message in a selfish manner. I do wonder about men not looking for an accomplished women though. I imagine at the end of the day, a man would want someone who could hold mentally stimulating conversations and keep up with them when they talk about their passions. Seems an education would almost be a prerequisite to that type of fulfilling connection. I am not a man so I can't say. I just know I feel a lot of pressure in that arena to go back to Uni, not just for myself which is the main component, but so I can match with someone I could be a good team mate to. Maybe a mentally stimulating partner is what I want, and so I'm projecting here little. I do realize a woman can be both accomplished and loving and I hope to be both.

    I would say personally as a woman I had to 'place on the altar' to God 👉🏼my👈🏼 preferences in a man, AND TIMING when God will have me have a God lead husband in my life. I am still single, and I also had to accept it is not my season yet, or maybe it's not my future husband's season yet and God is still working behind the scenes where only HE SEES. I hope this helps someone out there. I am single and if you can submit your timing of when you think it should happen and also let go of your "type", God knows us best and He is working where we don't see. Trust Him 🙏🏼🌱

    Hi Mark! Love the content. Good stuff. ❤
    The one thing I kind of disagree with is that I most certainly do not seek a man who has been promiscuous as well. It feels gross thinking about the disease in a man who has been with every women. Not a person I personally would want to subject my temple of the Holy Spirit with. I get a little experience, but these days most worldly men have ‘hooked up’ too much!

      appreciate Mark's statement about purity culture bc i don't want to be judgemental and want to see them as Jesus sees them as well.

      Yes, I would want a man that uses his brain in the number of his sexual relationships. This shows maturity and the ability for him to wait rather than seek immediate gratification. I lose respect for a man that sleeps with any available woman. I think this shows a lack of self respect. Not to mention HPVs.

    it's really hard to find a man right now who has leadership qualities....many men nowadays are afraid to take responsibilities. that is why i believe in the power of prayer to find a man who can be a leader to our family and also love and respects a woman. and same as woman now adays are advocate of women empowerment....don't get me wrong about it but women empowerment should also have boundaries and limit that some women don't understand it . let us allow men to be men and us women to be a women. that is how God lately teaches me . i am hoping that the Lord will help me find a husband in God's will and His own time.
