Thanks for the vid . I'm trying to grow a few this year were I am Canada . Not many started out of the package. Love them cut length ways fried in butter .
That's what l like about yr channel, you inspire people to have a go at gardening . l'v never grown parsnips but l love to eat them, so ll have to see if there is still time to sow some seeds. Thursday is our 'tidy up' day, so we decided to sort out a small very shaded area ( from 2 trees & the garden sheds.) It's right at end of our small garden that tends to be our dumping ground for garden wood & bits & bobs. We were inspired from yr video on yr beer garden, so today, we made this our own little beer garden for 2 :) It's looks great, with a small bench & some container hosta's , day lilies & herbs l already had. With a few garden ornaments as well, it hasnt cost us a penny. l remembered from last yr this area has the most wonderful views of sunsets back down over our little bungalow, . It's just the perfect place now for late summer evenings to sit & relax with a glass of wine. All it took was to give it a go & see if it worked. Thank you for yr video's.
Hiya Ivan great attempt them parsnips look great a bit on the slim side for me hope they tasted good, think i would try growing them in a much bigger and deeper container ❤
I've always been told parsnips improve in flavour with a cold snap. I grew them successfully, but at the old allotment and not in containers. I haven't grown them since because the kids don't like them. I am trying them this year though, so I was really curious for your video. Hope mine turn out as well! I hope the kids actually eat them too. Yours look great!
PLEASE HELP: My parsnips were doing beautifully when one day I found some with the tops chewed completely down (assuming the root is still intact). I suspect groundhogs, squirrels, or chipmunks 🐿️ (the only wild mammals in our yard), not deer or rabbits. Can they be saved? Will the tops grow back and continue to grow the roots or is all lost?
hi Chrissy if just the leaves have been eaten they should grow back but if the Parsnip itself has been eaten or chewed it will start to turn bad If just leaves cover with a net while leaves regrow Thank you
I pulled up TURNIPS and RADISHES, found no fat roots so now I'm cooking the sprouts, leaving the flowers for the hummingbirds and will let them go to seed. New to me so what an experience I had to laugh. Trying again, though.
Parsnips have a strong taste and are good roasted. I'd bet Ivan's got something on about parsnips on his cooking channel. But I'd roast them in the over with a bit of goose fat and rosemary! :)
Thanks Ivan, as you say anything is better than nothing. Enjoy the parsnip. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Sheila
🤩 Now I’m tempted to get myself some parsnip seeds. I love parsnips 🤤
Yes why not:)

They look very similar to carrots. Do they taste like carrots? I've never seen parsnips or tasted them.
