Omg Nigel, I want to thank you for showing everyone how to plant and grow parsnips. I've given your method a try this season, and to be honest, I've never seen such big parsnips. What a find and a must watch for everyone. Many thanks.
Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never saw parsnip that big. This is my first year growing them. I wish I saw this video before I planted them. I've been gardening for over 40 years and I'm going to do my carrots like this too. A lot of work but so worth it.
Thanks. I started some parsnips from seed in a tray , oops! I’ll be keen to adopt your method and watch future videos. Your help is ‘really’ appreciated.
Hi Nigel. From New Zealand, bay of plenty. Enjoy your videos very much ..Thank You., because you show it through it from beginming to end, not like some of the videos on utube, where they just Gossip and go on and on, and blah blah. Thank you.
This past Thanksgiving I had parsnips for the first time in my 67 yrs!! We just dont see them in the USA very often. I was in an organic Market in a city about 1 hour from my hometown in Texas, The bundle had about 7 or 8 small parsnips with tops about 1 1/2 inched across and only maybe 8 to 10 inches long LOL! No words to express my delight when you harvested yours!! New subscriber here, Looking forward to learning more from your channel!
Thank you for the excellent information, Mr. Nigel! Parsnips aren't a popular vegetable in my area of the U.S. But, after tasting fried parsnip strips at an English style pub recently, I fell in love. Now, to procure the seeds to grow them!
Thanks Nigel. Start to finish, that's the way foward. Now it's easier for learners like me not to make mistakes that will take another season to correct. Thanks again
Hi Nigel thanks for all of the info, I really like the funnel assuming that was home made or do you know where I could get hold of one? Many Thanks Andy😊
Wow, I absolutely LOVE your idea of boring holes in the garden bed and putting in some nice loose sifted soil - the kind of soil that's perfect for parsnips and other roots! Definitely solves the problem of the taproot hitting hard compacted soil. I'm SO doing this in my garden this year! Thanks, Nigel! :)
I can understand the extra steps in growing parsnips. I have tried to grow them a few times with zero success. I love your videos. There's always something to learn!
Excellent as always, love the new format as its been already said. I like the giggle when you say, 'well that's how it's supposed to work'. Doesn't always go to plan. Great video, thank you.
Oh Nigel. This is such a brilliant serious. Love all of them, such a joy to watch and brilliant advise and tips. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to the next one 👍
Hello Nigel. My wife and I are retired and use gardening as a source of exercise, as well as preservation of veg to last us for as long as possible throughout the year. Maine USA. We're subscribed to 5-6 UA-cam channels that have helped us become more and more successful year after year. One might think that they wouldn't need yet another channel to follow, but you Sir, take gardening to a whole new level. An excellent video Nigel. My allotment is in the Chilterns and my soil is heavy clay over chalk with enough stones and flints for prehistoric man to have killed all the Mammoths in Britain! I have successfully grown parsnips by making a hole with a dibber and filling it with multi purpose compost but I am going to use your ideas and I am sure I will get a much better crop. Thank you for the information.

Thanks again Nigel, another great video and so informative. I had a good degree of success growing parsnips in a raised bed this year, but getting them out was a real issue. I will now try your technique on the remaining ones :-)
Hey Nigel!! Lovely, lovely sifted compost!! The template is awesome!! Your method clearly works, I've seen your parsnips, and the proof, as they say, is in the pudding! Good you cover them for the foxes!! Good idea to mound them up!! I love the start to finish vids, Nigel!! This is the best way to show a how-to in my humble opinion! Nice that you can leave them in the ground, ours freezes too deeply!! That spade is perfect for the parsnip removal!! In theory, LOL!! Bloody beautiful specimen!! Nice!! Terry's long ones are indeed a different story altogether!! This was fabulous my friend!! I hope you have a lovely weekend! Looking forward to the next episode of Growing Made Easy!! Cheers! 💖
