      Update: The best way to use it similarly to Ron Rambo Kim is to play the task like 5-10 times and average it out. I manually removed 1-2 outliers and I am 100% confident it got it right. It also helps if you have a consistent setup like the same mouse grip, posture, etc.

    I have definitely been enjoying this sensitivity finder mechanic so far.
    While doing my last evaluation using it, I had a bit of an idea that could be interesting... Expand on a feature we already have... Custom hit sounds. As follows:
    -Adding a feature in the workshop that allows you to assign different hit sounds for each individual target. *Hit a bot you name, BELL and assign a DING sound effect. Etc.*
    Said feature also being able to effect markers set as tracking ones too.
    If not, maybe even something as simple as giving us the ability to change the pitch of the player's hit sound for specific targets. *As well as setting different colors for each target to show a visual difference*
    -As well with this add special bots that auto hit/track their OWN set of targets, possibly even the same ones you'll have to. Or targets that the player doesn't hit, but act as something the player has to copy. Either way something the player would base their shots on.
    Example: Bot hits Target1, Target2, Target2, TrackingTarget1, Target 1
    Player then would try to copy that.
    There could also be a variant where the bot and player have different sets of targets at points, to add a bit of difficulty and not just a aiming form of simon says.
    Just imagine the potential with a feature like that.
    The addictive aspect of a Rhythm Game, combined with an aim training program it could make for an interesting training regimen.
    Some games have done this before, Gun Jam, BPM, Metal Hellsinger being examples, but with the workshop features of Aim Lab.. We could have a customized experience.
    Imagine players porting ideas from Friday Nights Funkin, into Aim Lab to practice their aim...
    Could be fun.

      @ownzies100 Рік тому

      I was so confused until you mentioned you were thinking of rhythm games. There would have to be a LOT more done than just assigning simple sounds to certain targets for it to even slightly work as a rhythm game unfortunately. At that point, it wouldnt be aim training at all since the rhythm dictates your speed so reflex time is no longer relevant. Probably better to just stick with dedicated FPS rhythm games, lots of cool ones out there.
      As for the Simon says thing, I dont really see how that could be beneficial at all. Just short term memory training, not aimtraining

    damn getting recommended 17cm by the aimlab sens finder... what a god!
    For me it just gave me the sens i was already using right before probably because i was warmed up on it. I wouldn't rely on it too much though because the sens you should use depends a lot on the game. In tac shooters there's little benefit to using a high sens and you can get away with going super low sens because movement is slow and usually you know where the enemies will be coming from and in arena shooters its the opposite, there isn't really a point in going super low with your sens because those kinda games usually don't require a lot of precision and a higher sens is actually beneficial in many situations for example when tracking fast moving targets and if there's a situation where you do need higher precision you can just use zoom.

    It's great that they've added this, but as an Oblivity user I think these recommendation algorithms just dont work, maybe someday AI will help, but for now it's far better to just have a sensitivity finder mode where you can play scenerios of your choice with random Sens, and then just provide a chart showing your scores so the user can decide.

  • @kannonfps
    @kannonfps Рік тому +4

    aint gonna lie, seeing Ron Kim in this video instantly make me want to try this out lol... ive been playing with the PSA method to find a sens in OW2 but i guess i won't need to lol

    • @kannonfps
      @kannonfps Рік тому +3

      @MiezMiez__ here is my thoughts after trying both
      Short answer: the PSA method is more accurate and will give you similar results depending on what you want, the Aimlab test can give you 3 different sens if you do 3 tests because everything is random
      Here is the long one:
      The PSA method allow you to be consistent in the tests you are doing, which is not the case with the aim lab one since it's random. (speed paterns etc)
      i did the PSA test 5 time each in CSGO, overwatch, titanfall 2 and a few others. Most of the time unless my goal was to get a high or really low sens they gave me the same sens or pretty close to it.
      which mean that with the PSA method YOU chose what kind of sens you'll end up with.
      in Overwatch for example, at some point i wanted to have a high sens, and the one the PSA method gave me was really comfortable (i think it was 7.1 at 800DPI but im not sure), it was definitly really high for me but weirdly enough i had more than enough control to play with it and shit on my opponents.
      where as the ones i got from aim lab where... let's just say not the best.
      with the aim lab method since everything is random even if you like one sens you may end up with a really high sens because you didnt perform well enough with the lower one that you liked.
      The worst exercise of the entire test is the tracking one and they really need to change it imo.
      most of the time i had really easy tracking patterns with high sens and when it came to lower sens even if the sens was really comfortable they gave me really hard tracking patterns with insane speed changes and close range shit.
      with the PSA like i mentioned earlier you can chose if you want to go for a low, medium or high sens which is impossible with the aim lab test.
      3 test 3 different result, which is logic since everything is random.
      to end it i would say that the PSA method is way better than the aimlab one and here is why
      1. each game have different mechanics, weapons shooting style and movement speed etc... which mean that with the PSA method you can really set a sens for a specific game and make sure your tracking, flicking and general movement is optimal for that game.
      2. You chose the test, so if it's a game like CSGO where flicking is more important than tracking you can focus more on the flickshot side of things instead of focusing the tracking one. and in a game like APEX Legends you can actually focus more the tracking instead of the flicking. etc etc
      i don't believe in using the same sens in every game you play so for me the best tool to find my sens is the PSA method, like i said earlier every games is different and require you to be able to do different things so using the same sens from csgo in overwatch for example for me is pretty stupid.

      everything is random so this sensitivity finder is not good at all imo, the tracking exercise is the worst actually since they can give you easy tracking exercises when you have a really high sens and really hard ones for low sens...

    This is how the company gets you to waste time in aimlab. Since you get a different sensitivity value from each trial, you would question the validity and spend more and more time into finding "ideal/perfect sensitivity". In fact, it doesn't exist. Just stick to one sens or use the randomiser. You could be benefited using that time to actually play the game. Just my opinion.

      @seventwentyseven Рік тому +1

      its bc this method of the sens finder kinda sucks, realistically youll be able to play any sens after having a few minutes to adjust to it. meanwhile in this method its random whether you go from super slow to super fast sens (not being able to adapt fast enough so youll do bad) or youll go from super slow to slighly faster and then doing way better bc its less of a jump
