Some people say that the Parfum is almost identical to the original even if it has a lot fewer notes compared to the EDP. It's like they took the "core" of Black Orchid, amplified it and added a boozy plum accord. I will buy it in the future because i'm really curious

Good comparison Pretty amazing fragrances!! like u said is a little different on everyone which i like.. i have the New Parfum & the Edt versions i prefer these. I do love to smell the OG tho!

Totally agree, this version is definitely more masculine leaning. I over-sprayed this a few weeks ago and completely lost my sense of smell and actually felt a bit sickly from it 😛

La version parfum est faite pour moi je pense, j’aime le rhum et la couleur or. Il sent le luxe masculin à mon mon avis. C’est unique, je ne peux même pas trouver d’alternative à ce parfum.

I'm on my 2nd bottle of Black Orchid. Went through my 1st 1oz quickly. Was a blind buy, so happy with it. My 2nd bottle is 3.4 oz I purchased about 7 years ago. I'm not really an Oriental fragrance fan buy this is just beautiful.
I've only worn it out a few times, I mostly wear my Fracas (Floral, white flowers, THE Tuberose perfume) when going somewhere. Worn Fracas for almost 30 years, that's another that's not really for younger women. I was 28 when I started wearing it as my signature.
Black Orchid has that 1st blast that is sweet, wet, and intoxicating. Fracas 1st blast similar but wet, white flowers and I love the cedar in base.
The Black Orchid composition is brilliant. The middle notes are more spice and whatever spices in it are lovely! I actually prefer wearing Black Orchid at home when I'm relaxing and spray on wrist just deeply inhaling the notes as they change. Agree, more mature and heavy. Acquired taste like mushrooms and/or calamari, or escargot. Might hate when 1st try but wait a few (or several) years and try again. I love the dry down, chocolate, patchouli, and incense. When I wake up in morning after applying for back of hand, I instantly smell the dark chocolate. Some people might think it's a waste to mostly wear at home by myself. This is a fragrance that I like to keep to myself and wear it just for me. It's become so popular and oversprayed that I'm afraid it might suffer the fate of "Giorgio" from the 80's. Many restaurants, venues banned people from wearing it, especially California. It's very strong at first. Recommend applying in afternoon for evening wear when the notes tone down a bit, not so cloying. Some people will be put off by too much applied and too many people wearing heavily at same time and place.
I would like to try the Black Orchid parfum Gold Bottle but I believe I'll always prefer the edp in Black Bottle.

Wondeful review mate 🙂 so much detail. I really didn't enjoy the new one, the truffle and plum are too much for me and I know from me it's shocking i found it too sweet. But the original I absolutely adore

Black Orchid EDP was love at first sniff, but I would not wear it because it's so feminine.
In addition it's so strong and loud which doesn't reflect my personality.
I would like to smell a very mysterious fragrance inspired by Dark, my favorite series on Netflix

Black Orchid is a challenging scent for me - the intense earthiness, perhaps from the truffle, makes it quite polarizing to me and I’m left a bit at odds as to what occasion I could wear it for!
I tried Black Orchid le parfum on skin after your recommendation in the gourmand video (my favorite category 💛) and felt it was a bit more wearable
