I tried this in a store when it came out and I found it pleasant, but it reminded me too much of Ébenè Fumé, which I enjoy and perhaps has a bit more personality to it.

I think Tom Ford people still live in the world where there're not so many perfume houses to choose from and where people have no idea about what a niche perfume is 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 They need a wake up call. Nowadays there're so many quality perfume houses to choose from it's crazy!

Excellent point; Tom Ford and his people are stuck in the past, circa 2010. Same with Creed. It happens to many who achieved success and still trying to bask in the limelight but the audience already left.
Myrrhe Mystere is very pretty but there are so many similar scents (especially from indie brands) that smell as good or better without the ridiculous price tag! Love your opinions Clemence, thank you for the video! 🤗💗
In the US we are lucky to have the Estee Lauder beauty outlets and I was able to get all of my Tom Ford scents there - 250ml of Soleil Neige for $300 USD, which is so much more reasonable!

My problem with TF is their value proposition, they are by miles the worst for £ or $ per ml. For me, yes they have nice perfumes but for the asked price no thank you. I only have Black Orchid (gift) and Ombre Leather. For the price of 100ml (private blend), for example I would pick Coromandel from Chanel or Ambre Nuit by Dior, any day of the week. Yeah I totally agree with all of that! I pretty much but all niche, because the ingredients are noticably superior. In this case though, I do like Tom's 2 Fougerés, plus Beau de Jour...which is basically a 3rd. Yes I spent the money, I love the scent profile and they do actually blend those extremely well. Still though...the $$ they're asking a hard pill to swallow.
I could never again buy a Tom Ford fragrance as the prices are out of sight. Right now my hone is in need of repair and the little money I have left has to be put to repairs, so no new perfumes for me, especially Tom Ford.
Ahh I love the accent haha! Im afraid I would sound offensive to French speakers if I tried 😂 I haven't seen this in my local stores yet but I might try get a sample shipped into the country, which is what I had to do with Soleil de Feu. I like the name and the notes sound nice and cosy for winter but I havnt been wild about most of the new releases. The criticisms you have are totally valid, I saw the price of my bottle of fing fabulous has jumped up and its unwarranted. Saying that I do have Noir de Noir on my wish list! This was a fantastic video, great bit of perfume journalism ❤

I say go to a TF boutique, overspray on you your favorite fragrance from their line and walk away … repeat once a month and save money + if they are smart, they will understand your implied « message » 👍🏻

My favorite part of this channel is turning on the captions option & laughing as UA-cam tries to figure out what you're saying through your accent! The only Tom Ford I own is Tobacco Vanille. I was kind of interested in Oud wood, but I couldn't justify the price given it's poor performance, which has apparently only gotten worse through reformulation. I'm going to try Carved oud by Thameen as I heard it's similar but better

I fell in love with Tobacco Vanille last year, but that's the only one I've ever been remotely interested in buying. Nothing else seemed life-changing.

I agree with you. I will spend a few extra bucks on quality. It's not there with some of these fragrances. Poor longevity is a no no for me.

Tom Ford is not about price/quality value/scent profile, it's about social status. People who buy Tom Ford, want to affirm their social status or warrant their delusion. Just like some designer bags, it is to be part of an exclusive clan even if they have to go broke. That's why they use pretty simple formulas, in order to please the non-expert but enthusiast perfume buyer.

I LOVE TF's past creations. I adore the Jardin Collection (purple label) scents! Love the Les Extraits Vert scents (all of the Verts), the Atelier d'Orient scents, Plum Japonais is stunning! Sahara Noir, what a beauty and it was affordable! He made art. Tom Ford is a creative genius. Well, then Estée Lauder came along and everything got weird and more expensive than ever and money became king. I hate what has happened to the Line and Tom Ford should know better than this! ...hugely disappointed with the direction the company/Tom Ford himself has gone. Boo. Hiss. What a shame.

I totally agree with you Clémence. And if they're targeting very rich people how come part of them is sold in Séphora? From the few I know I really like the "Soleil" line, and I LOVE f*fabulous, would like to buy it, but as you said prices are unjustified. About cherry fragrances: have you tested the new "La petite robe noire eau de parfum absolue ?"very good straightforward black cherry from the designers range, I was nicely surprised 🙂!

I smelled Myrhhe Mystere and I thought it was fine. Fine is not worth that price. Smoking Hot wasn’t anything earth shattering either. ☹️ I agree with your choice of Noir De Noir and Tobacco Vanilla. They’re still worth the price. ❤

I was going to purchase 50 ml private blend bottle, before it was like 205 euros, but now it costs 255 and I just left the store. The price at this point is not justified, they still live on from their older days fame, but it is true that you can buy better things or bigger size bottles from other niche brands, that are not worse and sometimes even better, so ...
Most of the brands have risen their prices for 5-15 euros, but 50 is just crazy in this economy, they really do appeal to very wealthy people now

I own two marvelous perfumes,POAL and Cuir Beluga, 300€ for 100 ml, I find il expensive (it is!) but I love them ! I Cuir Béluga is refillable … it’s the maximum price I would pay for a perfume, for me the prices of Tom Ford are just crazy, and I never felt in love of anyone of them…. (In french : ils nous prennent pour des c…😃)

Tom Ford's golden era had ended long ago. Recent releases for several years have been mostly underwhelming! Yet to try myrrhe mysere but don't like ebane fume or fuking fabulous or Bois Mystérieux at all! Btw i request u to do a video where u read prices in pounds and dollars and react to them :D

new tom ford oud wood parfum costs $445 USD for 50ml. that is the tier 3 price that tom ford invented for their private blend collection. now tom ford private blend has 3 tiers of pricing. tier 1 $295 for 50ml, which are tobacco vanille, tuscan leather, noir de noir, jasmin rouge, santal blush, etc. tier 2 $395 for 50ml, which are fucking fabulous, lost cherry, rose prick, bitter peach, myrrhe mystere, vanilla sex, etc. tier 3 $445 for 50ml oud wood parfum. all tom ford private blend perfumes are overprice comparing to chanel les exclusive, dior prive, louis Vuitton, Armani prive, Gucci, etc.
Love Jasmin Rouge. That’s my favourite TF fragrance. Unfortunately, I don’t love it enough to pay the price point. I can live without it. Tom Ford as a company, seems insecure in their standing as a luxury brand, which is reflected in their over-the-top prices.

I don’t think Tom Ford fragrances are overpriced. What is the reason a niche fragrance is worth more? Don’t tell me they’re better quality ingredients, that’s BS. Mandarino di Amalfi is one of my favourite fragrances, is it a ‘beast’ absolutely not, do I care? No. It’s a beautiful scent, so to me it’s worth every penny.

As you I worked in the industrie for Shiseido first and then Coty. And as you I passionnate by Fragrance and I collection them. First of all I can really tell you that Tom Ford Fragrances are not all that exclusives. Some fragrances are great, a bit overpriced but overall Okay. But other are really cheap frangrances, priced the same as thier qualitative fragrances. And that I don't understand it. Just too expensive and overall I don't like thier olfactive signature. For this Price, I prefere to buy Amouage. It's not for everyone, the smell are crazy complexe and you can smell the money in the bottle, but they are not easy. For me if ypu like easy sents, don't spend more than 200 euros, and if you like more complexe and intoxicating fragrance, you can go over this price, but Only for brands like Amouage, Sospiro, the real niche. I love your Chanel and I love your so Parisian accent 😊

The price is now ridiculous and I only buy them secondhand or dutyfree. I still have what I would now call “vintage” bottles of Noir de Noir, White Suede and Oud Wood from 2012. Even a few mls of Musk Pure (same age) which project like beasts and are gorgeously long lasting. New iterations smell “odd” and are very weak. Other ones I love are Vanille Fatale and Rose D’Amalfi which are more restrained but do really perform for me. Most of my collection won’t be rebought once they are finished. Oud Wood is a shadow of itself 😞

I think all designers have spiked their prices but Tom Ford prices are too much at this point. I have the body spray version of noir extreme and I have orchid soleil. A lot of his newer releases are mediocre and not worth the $

Maybe it's because i'm not used to luxury and I only have a french SMIC ; but Tom Ford is out of budget for me. All of them. And Killian too sadly ; as much as I would want to try. I understand that some things are more expensive because of the quality ; creativity etc. But there is a limit. 1000 for a perfume ; WTF ? You can buy some amazing clothes ; shoes ; bags that you will keep your entire life for this price. A perfume ; you don't keep it for ever. It's some money that deseapear at each spray.
PS : once again thankyou for making me discover Grès and the 30 euros amazing perfumes they do. No compare, I guess ; but i did tried some very much more expensive perfumes that are not that good. Like the money you put in it doesn't always reflect the quality. Special mention for Cabochard.
