We have a very exciting video today!!! I've been waiting for this keeb to arrive ever since the group buy went live a couple months ago and I can say it certainly did not disappoint. I'm so happy I was able to get my hands on one-even the bg music I used is happy LOL. ALSO, the keycaps are from an Etsy seller called Keykits. Pretty sure I accidentally put Keyrist in the video lmao-got confused because Keyrist is a mutual from my Instagram :P Keyrist, if you see this, hi. You're now an official keycap vendor lmao.
My review:
As mentioned in the video, this keyboard took me quite a while to build. I normally never refer to the user manual because most keyboards follow the same modding procedure, but the Zoom65 has a few components that are very different from the usual boards I've built. The first one being that all the screws for every part are located in unusual spots. The case screws are found on the inside border rather than the back of the case, and the plate screws are comprised of two parts-therefore making it so that you need to assemble this part (PCB, switch pad, PCB foam, plate) upside down and from the plate up. There are also some switches, namely the spacebar, caps lock, and enter key, that need to be rotated on the board to fit the keycaps. Thankfully, the switch pad is precut correctly for this so I had no problem inserting the switches, but the various orientations of these switches definitely confused me at first. That being said, if you have never built a Zoom65 before, I HIGHLY recommend you keep that manual handy as you will most definitely need to refer to it a few times!
I'm not complaining about all these complications though-it made for a wonderful building experience, and the end result was SO worth it :))) This is quickly becoming one of my favorite keebs to use, and the stabs that come with this kit are AMAZING as well! The Zoom65 Essential Edition quite literally comes with everything you will ever need to build this board-even teflon strips for your holee mod! This is a keyboard that lives up to its name and for everything that you get in the package, it's definitely a quality investment that everyone should add to their collection.

Been hearing good thing about this board. Not gonna lie, it sounds pretty good. I would recommend you to put maybe a foam or a cloth under your microphone so that it won't pick up some bass from the desk. Otherwise, I like the keebs sound.
I wish my video has this cozy vibe. I'll try in the future.

Yes... Great video.. but yeah that mic is picking up too much noise cuz it's directly on the table.. u could do what starlight said or better yet get a mic arm with a shock mount so negate the noise ..

It's an American haptics workmat
the metal rectangle wasnt the daughter board it was the battery for wireless (a daughter board is kinda like a seperate circuit board used to make a usb connection to the main pcb)
also getting a floating mic arm as the mic being mounted on the desk produced quite a bit of reverb and bass
the keycaps set you got looks to be dmk gift clones so I wouldn't recommend you buy keycaps off etsy as most of the times they're selling clones which rip off artist or are overpricing their sets

No worries--I actually do not mind that they are clones! These ones were significantly cheaper than the real thing and they work fine as well :)
would durock stabs work with this keyboard?
It should work--though the board already comes with wuque stabilizers and they are of extremely high quality so I would definitely recommend using those as opposed to durocks!

@AsianWithSwag I would suggest you fully mod the stabs like I did--lube + holee + pcb tape. meletrix gives you all the tape and parts needed for holee mods and pcb tape as well

Idk about a restock but they are planning to release extras from the April group buy very soon. I would check the Wuque studio and cannonkeys website/discord.

kind of a shame you pe foam modded it, I would love to hear this boards true sound instead of it sounding like every pe foam board
Everybody mods their boards differently. I personally just like having lots of foam in my board--no shame in that 😊
