    I like the idea very much ... however, Having been ganked and killed so often, if I expend whatever resources are needed to colonise a system, obviously it'll be open to attack from ne'er do wells and opposition factions. So I'm giving it a cautious thumbs up, obviously dependant on what further information is forthcoming from deepest, darkest Cambridge.

    I'd like top know if it'll be possible to get a passive income from your own systems. Otherwise it'll just be like a larger version of a fleet carrier.

    My biggest worry is how cost prohibitive will it be/how many players will be priced out of the colonization features. Is this going to be something that only players with hundreds of billions or even a trillion credits saved up will be able to participate in?

    • @teromeehaley4612
      @teromeehaley4612 4 дні тому +2

      Similar to fleet carriers, I believe the initial investment for establishing a colony would be in the range of 3-5 billion credits. As someone who has accumulated a significant amount of wealth during the mining boom era when fleet carriers were first introduced (holding around 1 trillion creds), not everyone will opt for colonization. Just as with fleet carriers, I think it depends on what players want to achieve within the game. Much like when I help build computers for clients, asking about their needs and requirements is crucial. To better serve you, could you please tell me:
      What are your primary goals and objectives in the game?
      What specific features or benefits do you expect from a colony?
      How do you plan to use the system to enhance your gameplay experience and benefit yourself and your friends?

    • @AnotherOne-Retro-Paladin
      @AnotherOne-Retro-Paladin 4 дні тому +3

      There a lot of ways to get the easy credits. Credits are not the issue for years. I don't think that the colonisation system will require hundreds of billions. Just start an economics so the system can be autonomous and voilà.

    Leaving everyone els out of this feature?
    Its for me a question on how they ballance this. I don't think the lone runner explorer is gonna be having the founds to do it. Even the carrier is like 5billion so it's gonna be a very hard round for the lone wolf to find the founds on doing this game play. But I still like the idea behind it. But could still be afraid it will ruin the galaxy in some ways.

    Everything depends on the rewards for owning a space station. It should be something unique and interesting, not only money or powerplay shenanigans. An idea could be something related to the design of the station, so if you choose a scientific/exploration station one could be rewarded with something like a special SRV, while a mining space station could reward a size 3 mining laser.

  • @AlIguana
    @AlIguana День тому

    i think it will be logistically distanced, like Strongholds are in PP2. Your "new" system will need to be within.. like 50 LY of another system with a base/economy, so the BGS can do trading calculations etc. it will probably have a sphere of influence, like in PP2. Wonder how it will tie into PP2 as far as factions go? eg if you're pledged to Winters will your new system be a Winters PP system? this has a potential to be huge and literally game changing, if done right. if it's just Carriers 2.0 then they will end up just being expensive places to store your ships lol
    auto-harvesting mats is like 80% of the reason i wanted base-building, so i hope this is included somehow.

    Ok, expansion/colonisation is good; in fact, I'd say it's a must for the game. BUT with it comes another must, Law and Order.
    Take America, in the mid 19th century, 'The Wild West', was a place of murder, robbery, etc. The government and big business knew it had to stop for expansion/ colonisation to happen, and it did.
    I have played ED exclusively in Solo but fully appreciate that it would be better if everyone was in Open, especially now with Powerplay 2 and whatever they have in mind for colonisation. Sort Law and Order, and I'd seriously consider joining Open play.

    My first questions are - how do we lose a system we colonize, and how do other players take it from us (if at all).
    Will it be some form of upkeep, like a fleet carrier? Is this going to be a constant PvP or powerplay defense worry? If it can be taken from a player (by PvP or powerplay), how will that translate for solo players? Would my colony as a solo player be taken from me by a group because they have more people to grind powerplay against me?

    I think it’s a great thing to help the game keep its life span how long will be determined by the devs and player base. I’m hoping that it’ll let us create a more immersive and interactive galaxy with new empires vying for control and making power play go from factions in a empire to a just a single ruler with minor factions that help influence the leaders decisions. From peace to conflict to secession to coups. I like the concept of power play but I feel like it’s been poorly implemented. For example I’ll use the empire it’s multiple factions make it feel like it’s in a civil war rather than a unified empire and yet they are all apart of the empire. It just doesn’t make sense to me same with the federation and alliance the three factions shouldn’t exist since how the members act. Maybe I’m missing something due to forgetting it or never coming across it but for power play to make sense to me it mostly needs to stop the factions police from attacking you and have it split up to police and a secret police/ intelligence agency. Using the empire again you should be allowed to travel within imperial space freely no matter who you pledge to with and only be declared hostile if you enter federation/alliance space or if secession happens with your power that you pledged to. It should still allow you to undermine the faction leaders to put your leader in charge or have greater influence that’s where the secret police/ intelligence agency will come into play and if they know you are a spy they will intervene and try to stop you by any means.

      I'm one of those players who has accumulated too much wealth, and I'm not sure what to do with it all. Establishing a colony seems appealing to me because it could potentially allow me to achieve my goals in the game. Having the ability to administer my own fleet carrier and ship manufacturer for alliance and Lakon ships would be a significant bonus. To enhance the fleet carriers, I'd suggest adding an à la carte shipyard and outfitting packages, along with bulk discounts on ships and parts. This way, players wouldn't have to pay full price for everything.
      The introduction of player factions and squadrons could lead to more engagement as people would work towards building their own systems. I think this feature would encourage collaboration and community involvement, making the game even more enjoyable.
